Daylight Donuts of Dacono/Amazin Glaze 2

The smell of this place brought me in. I was out riding my motorcycle at 4am when I picked up a waft of delicious donut bakery smell, looked over and saw the sign and quickly made a u turn. Went up to the door before they were open and they let me in, saw them baking everything on a Sunday morning. The guy was super friendly and cool and told me to come on in. Got a half dozen of the best donuts and ate two of them at their table outside. Def gonna go back and see what else they got. The smell of them bakin

If I could give 10 stars I would. If you haven't tried them and are a donut lover, do it now. The texture is a light crisp shell, with soft freshness inside, indescribable goodness. Want a filled long john? They filling while you wait with what can only be described as heavenly goodness. No day old b.s here. Our weekend go to for the last 2 months whenever we manage to find the time to get there, we do. If you haven't tried it, do yourself a favor and give them a try, you won't be disappointed. Kee

It's a donut shop, so service and atmosphere are bland. But to me, that's completely normal for a donut shop. I haven't been to a donut shop that made me feel differently. They have good variety of donuts that taste great, the person at the counter hooks it up quickly and you're on your way. We drive south to grab them monthly. I definitely recommend this over EVER buying donuts from a grocery store.

This donut place is now Amazing Glaze with new owners and unfortunately it's no different than when it was Daylight donuts. I've been to other Amazing Glaze franchises and they're always stock full of donuts and their displays are never empty so when I found out that this place was bought by Amazing Glaze I got excited. Staff was super nice and ready to help however. The donuts are amazing! Fresh and pillow-y with the best cream filling (which they fill while you wait!) I have had all 4 fillings and not 1 disappoint! Absolute delicious! Hell, my husband and I thought about starting a donut shop because most donuts are just meh at this point. Except for here! These are the best and I wouldn't even attempt to do a better job!

Good old classic donuts! I tried their cake, raised and old fashioned donuts. The raised glaze donuts were light and fluffy. The cake was soft with a crumbly interior. My favorite was the old fashioned specifically the chocolate and maple, practically melted in my mouth they were so delicious. Looking forward to trying all their donuts.

I honestly have no clue what all these bad reviews are about! These are the BEST donuts around according to my husband and kids, who are SUPER picky with donuts and sweets! We have tried ALL to donut shops around. From south Denver to Ft Collins. NoNe of which compare to these! ESPECIALLY if you get there early and they are super fresh (like mine were this morning and every other time I have made the trek up here. I'm in Thornton and it's about a 20 min drive up here every time we (well, I) come. Hands down

This donut shop is a disaster and honestly should be shut down. The donuts were dry, flavorless, and tasted like they?d been sitting out for days. The hygiene was questionable, with a messy display. The staff was rude and unprofessional. Definitely not a place you want to support. Avoid at all costs. Not worth your money or time

I used them for a Easter Egg Hunt and they were fantastic to work with! They did an exceptional job of getting everything ready for me day of and the donuts were raved about at the event! I appreciate them working with me on the event and would recommend them to everyone!

Won't go back. Used to the best place for donuts but not anymore. I was the only one in line, the lady who was helping didn't seem like she wanted to help and I was almost bothering her for being there ordering donuts. I was an inconvenience. She wouldn't tell me any flavors of the donuts when I asked she was annoyed. The selection sucked. She also had long hair in a ponytail and kept throwing her hair around. Used to be my favorite donut place until management changed or something the lady that used to run it was completely awesome and so nice. Now when you call and do an order for pickup, the lady sounds like you're calling a detention center and you still order dozens of donuts for your child's Christmas party in good faith go pay almost $100 for his classroom donuts only to open them up and find out they are yesterday's donuts and not assorted by any manner. Looks like yesterday's leftovers. Very disappointed

My daughter asked for donuts to bring to school today for her birthday. I called a week in advance to order 24 of her favorite kind of donut to bring. The employee working took my order, my name and phone number and even read everything back to me (including the date and time I wanted to pick up). I go to pick up my order this morning and they had no record of my order at all and said they could just give us 24 assorted of what was left in the case (which were extremely picked over). Extremely disappointed

Super nice people. They accommodated me and my needs, wanted coffee and donuts for my customers at an event. Will go back. The atmosphere need some sprucing up. But that won't stop good service. These people got it

My husband and I stopped in today. We were greeted by a bald guy. Who seemed very nice & helpful. Then all of a sudden a lady with blue eyes appeared from we don't know where. But she rushed us and was very rude. We were trying to order a dozen of donuts but no one was really telling us which flavors of donuts there were. My husband felt she was very rude & rushing us. Not sure why it was only 10 a.m. But I will never return, and I thought I liked this place. Not anymore

This is a great, local Dacono donut shop with friendly service. There is a large variety of donuts and fillings which is a favorite of one of my family members. There is some outside seating too. Someone kindly gifted my family member with a box of Daylight Donuts by ordering ahead and asking for specific fillings and this gift was a huge hit!

Updated review 10/6/24 New owners is a big plus , the donuts taste better then the old owners, they are fresh and the place looks so much better and it don't feel dirty in there like it did , the old owner did not care ,so happy to see this place on the right path, so if you need donuts in Frederick go stop by it's nice to have a good local place again. Fast, friendly service. I recommend the pinecones which are almost a meal in themselves! We also tried the apple fritters, cinnamon rolls, and old fashioned donuts which were also delicious.

I went by the shop and picked up 6 pinecones for the office. The donuts were amazing, one of the best specialty donuts I've ever had. The price for these specialty donuts was less than I normally pay for regular donuts. I did call in and make a special order. This shop knows their regulars and makes the exact amount of donuts they need each day. But ordering ahead is easy since they are open pretty late, and are super friendly when you call. Trust me the pre-planning is worth it, these are great donuts.

Some of the best donuts I?ve had in recent times, and I get donuts every Sunday after climbing. Got there just before closing, super friendly and helpful staff, even sent us home with a few extras as they were closing soon. Nice crisp on the dough, but super fluffy inside. Not overly glazed, or dipped. Very happy we went the extra town over to try somewhere new.

I always visit here when I come to Colorado. I lived in this area almost 12 yrs ago, and it was good to see that it was still going well. You can sit and talk, have a coffee, and enjoy one of their great homemade sandwiches that Linda makes. On a sad note I found out that there are going to be new owners soon. And they are already talking about changes. It's a small country place that has a great atmosphere and really should continue as such. That's why they lasted so long. Hope it's still around next time

I have to write this review. I've gotten donuts here a few times, and they are good dont get me wrong but the customer service is trash. The owner (older lady) is so rude. She doesn't know how to talk to people with respect or will just straight up ignore you and talk to the customer behind you. You have to catch her on a good day to get treated right. So sad. My family and I will not be returning here for donuts. I'd rather go somewhere else and get donuts and not get treated like this.

This place is sold out of doughnuts literally every single time I pull up no matter how early. The place is a joke. The lady that works there is rude, says you have to call in to order doughnuts... every other doughnut shop has doughnuts available from open to close. Why can't this place? You shouldn't have to call and "pre-order" doughnuts at a doughnut shop.

The donuts are always hard And dry. Ever since they got new owners they raised the prices. You would use to buy two donuts for $6 or less now you would pay about $14

Every time I come here they have old nasty doughnuts. Or they don't have any at all. I would definitely not recommend this place on there best day. Also the employees are rude and very pushy. Was very disappointed when being told the donut shop couldn?t fill a 2 dozen donut order before 520 am and they open at 5. I?ve frequented here often but after other customers were made the priority even tho they still had 40 minutes to fulfill and had 2 dozen extras on the rack very disappointing I use to provide business often but will not be returning after this mornings experience. Never been to a donut shop that doesn?t have the ability to make more donuts.

Delicious donuts. Worth the little bit extra in price over grocery store products. Can get pretty busy as well. Call ahead on Saturday's and they will make you a sticky bun that is scrumptious.

The donuts were delicious and the lady working was friendly. I do need to point out that the customer before us was not wearing a mask in the store. The cashier didn?t put a mask on until she saw we were wearing one. Aside from that, gloves would be a good reassurance for customers to see being used.

Such good donuts! Added smoothies recently too! I got a breakfast sandwich made of raised donut bread (unsweetened) which was pretty yummy! Owner has been here a long time and knows what she's doing. All the donuts are amazing, but my personal fave is the apple fritter!

Nice family owned shop. They have basically everything there from nick nacks to ice cream and donuts. I got 3 HUGE maple covered raspberry filled donuts and pecan ice cream for 10$. Honestly you can't beat that price

My wife and I recently came across this place, I have to say the staff and atmosphere is very welcoming. We live in Fort Lupton and make the well worth drive. I highly recommend DD. We like the pumpkin cake donuts and they run out quickly so get there early.

We've gone here alot and they owner has always been very nice, well this morning changed it all. We arrived at what we thought was 5:00. The guy owner opened the doors and we went in, the lady owner came in and asked the guy why he opened early I said "don't you open at 5:00?" She said it's 4:58. Incredible Apple Fritters. The other donuts we have tried are great as well. They also serve good biscuits and gravy that you can add an assortment of stuff too. A full order with sausage is under $4. Lots of other stuff including ice cream, doggie donut treats and even homemade kraut burgers. The owner and staff are always very nice and enthusiastic. The donuts we're good overall. I am just used to my favorite back home and they just didn't meet my taste buds. The owner was very auspicious and polite to me and my friend when we arrived. I was disappointed on the imposed limit no, though I understand the reason, is just not something I'm used to.

This place was super dirty, dirty rags/ dishes on the counter the place also had an overwhelming smell of cigarettes and flies all over. I ordered 4 donuts and after seeing how nasty the place was I threw them in the garbage. should have left without purchasing anything but felt embarrassed to be rude to the guy at the counter. This place never has any donuts the owner Linda always says to order ahead, and we could get you anything. I?ve did that, and not only was it limited, when I picked up my order got home it was missing donuts. Great little donut shop! Both the raised donuts and the cake ones are delicious, but my favorites are the specialty kinds. Bear claws, turnovers, and raspberry rosebuds! And the holiday shapes are so much fun!
