Daybreak Donuts

We also had some donuts, lol. From the top left, we had death by chocolate, key lime pie, fruity pebbles, lemonade, banana pudding, chicken and waffles, orange roll, maple coffee cake, sea turtle, strawberry shortcake, black forest, and margarita. They fry them fresh to order and then flavor them right in front of you! This is another place you need to visit while you are here!

Donuts are made to order, so they come out hot & fresh. Lots of flavor combinations to choose from, all of which melt in your mouth! Cute t-shirts for sale inside. Expect to get your donuts to go, as seating is very limited. (We sat on a bench outside.) Parking is tight during times of high demand (like weekend mornings).

The good , the bad and the ugly. Love the beach setup and the little store was nice. You get to watch the donuts being made to order. I love the fact you get hot donuts. The staff were friendly and took our order fast. Yes the donuts are a little pricey but I would be more than fine with paying a higher price for a more quality product. We enjoyed Daybreak Donuts. We tried a large assortment of both popular flavors and design your own. Our kids throught it was so fun and was definitely a highlight of the trip for them. My personal favorites were the Sandy Shore + Banana Chocolate Chip.

Our first time at Daybreak and even though we are back home, 4.5 hours away- I can?t stop thinking about those donuts!!!!! The girl taking our order was helpful and friendly. The girl who dipped and packed our order was efficient and everything was absolutely mouthwatering!!! We got two dozen donuts for 11 of us and we cut each donut into pieces so that we could sample them all! There was not one donut we did not like !

I?ve been here about a dozen times. Always hot and fresh. Very disappointed in my most recent experience. I ordered two donuts. One was hot and the other one was not. The donut wasn?t hot and the Apple filling for the Dutch apple tasted like it just came out the refrigerator. Please make this make sense.

These donuts are so good! I have never had this type of breading and they made them hot when we ordered them! They were flakey with crispy edges and the flavor of toppings seemed right in! Go eat them!

Great doughnuts made on the spot. They come out hot. Which is nice but also sometimes the toppings slide off. Buy a Tshirt and get a free doughnut - some staff even slid the sandy shore donut to us right as we got to the counter seeing our shirts. Quick service anyway, even in breakfast crowd. We love Daybreak.

Seriously the best donuts I?ve ever had! They make the donuts right in front of you, and come out so warm and soft. It?s going to be a challenge not to eat here every day during vacation!

The donuts were freshly made that morning, there were several dips available (more than 10) and same went for the toppings. I had the maple dipped bacon topped donut. So good. They staff let us know there was seating in the back overlooking the water and there was a large trashcan available for guests. Great place over all. Loved it.

Tiny place just outside of the touristy section of Surf City. Mostly just a counter and enough space for a few customers to stand. Best donuts I ever had. As you order them, someone starts making them. Can't get any fresher. So light and soft you'd never need to chew. You do have to wait for your donuts, but it is worth it. Limited parking.

Ordered the maple coffee cake donut and it came out hot and it melted in the mouth. Super tasty, price is a bit high, but the custom order donut idea is pretty cool. Customer service was really friendly. Parking can be tricky because of traffic, but otherwise it's worth a visit to do something a little different than your normal donut.

We got a 1/2 dozen with differing specialty flavors. We got one plain, key lime, blackberry pie, banana cr?me pie, French toast and sandy beach. They were all amazing but sadly, they all tasted very similar. The flavors weren?t distinct from one to the other. The only two that you could truly taste the difference on were the banana cr?me pie and French toast. I would just recommend maybe a little more flavor to make each variety more pronounced.

Worth the wait! Highly recommend stopping into Daybreak Donuts early one morning during your trip to TI! Donuts are made to order, which does take some time to dip by hand but they are hot and fresh when you get them. cost is ~$20 a doz. Only disappointment we had was that the staff couldn?t tell us what kind of coffee they brew. Other than that we were impressed with these melt in your mouth delicacies!

This place left little to be desired in terms of service. The girl taking our order was less than friendly. She stared off into space and said zero words to us, never smiled, and looked overall annoyed with her job. The donuts were good but not likely to return.

Great spot to pick up a warm freshly made donut. I saw a previous review stating the donut was a bit ?flat? and I do agree with that. However, I come from somewhere where our best donut is Dunkin? Donuts. So this is a home run for me. I kept it simple with the cookies and cr?me donut and it was great. Plenty of options to add for toppings if you so choose. The iced coffee was great as well. This was our first time going to Daybreak Donuts. We ordered a half dozen donuts for just over $11. The donuts were small and light weight ( with the toppings). We were really disappointed with the size and especially with the flavors or should I say lack of flavors. Regardless of what flavors we ordered all we could taste was the plain cake batter. In my opinion this company is only concerned with making money not customer satisfaction. If you're visiting, don't waste your money here you will be disappoint

These have to be the best donuts I have ever had. Warm and fluffy. Definitely recommend it if you are looking for a sweet treat!

The only made to order donut shop I know of. This is worth the trip and the wait. It is popular so expect to wait to get your treats.

I was so excited when I saw this fractured Prune. I used to live in Maryland 15 years ago and frequented a fractured prune up there. This location is very clean. The staff were super friendly and helpful. My kids absolutely loved their donuts. It's so fun to be able to create your own donut.

GREAT LOCAL DONUT SHOP! Staff was super nice --- the kid taking my order loaned me a bungee cord from his bicycle so I could strap my box of donuts on the back of my bicycle to get them home. Donuts made TO ORDER! Woot! Fresh! Warm! Amazing variety.

Stopped here on our way into town last Saturday. We arrived within 30 minutes of them closing but they still got us fresh delicious donuts. We got a few different kinds but our favorites were the key lime pie and French toast ??

The donut shop has made many improvements since they first opened. Signage is good to include the overall atmosphere of the donut shop. Not a big fan of the donuts. My grandkids didn?t even like them and their big donut eaters.

Delicious freshly, made-to-order cake donuts. You pick the toppings or choose from lots of great suggestions. I had Death by Chocolate and the OC Sand. I really recommend the cinnamon sugar flavors. They go the best with the fresh pastry which just melts in your mouth while warm. They are not huge donuts like Voodoo, these are made to be enjoyed right away. We'll be back.

The donuts here are delicious. They are made to order. We only waited 1-2 minutes for half a dozen. The staff was friendly and there is a good amount of room for parking.

This is always one of our first stops when we visit Topsail! Never had a bad donut from here and we have tried every one they have. We just left from our 7 day summer vacation and downed 24 between the five of us ?? The staff is always very friendly and they get you in and out in no time. Already looking forward to my next visit. Great as ever! Haven't been in years. Met the owners fo-worker and friend on a plane and went to check it out a while back. I was excited to see how busy the place is and how well they are doing. Picked up 4 donuts - Margarita, Salted Carmel, peanut Butter Cup and Bacin Bomb. Nothing like a hot donut and they are good later too. If you're on the island Fractured Prune is a must!

DELICIOUS HOT hand dipped donuts fried to order. We have a Bacon Bomb and Strawberry Shortcake and were thrilled with both. They also offer cool stickers and Ts if you want some swag!

These donuts blew us away. I honestly don't know what flavors we had but each one was incredibly delicious. My only regret is not coming here sooner. We couldn't eat these fast enough. A unique donut, indeed.

Super friendly staff does an amazing job on made to order donuts. We chose from a variety but our favorites were the Strawberry Shortcake, French Toast and Peanut Butter Cup donuts. Definitely a unique spin on the traditional donut shop!

The donuts were delicious, they came out in minutes! Everything here is made to order and you never wait very long. The Dutch apple pie and cinnamon roll were my favorite! The blueberry is also delicious :)

I am so sorry to say that I was disappointed in the doughnuts- the flavors tasted so mild, we had to keep referring back to the list to know which one we were tasting. They were also small and seemed greasy , some even difficult to pick up. Choosing the dozen was fun because there are sooo many flavor toppings and combos but the end product quality was lacking. Crazy delicious. The texture is so unique (almost like cornbread mixed with a cake donut but lighter??), the variety of toppings is extensive, the staff is friendly and helpful. What more could you ask for!

This was our first time and we had a good experience service wise. They were definitely busy but the girls working were friendly and fast with the order. The donuts were not quite what I had expected. I was expecting cake style donuts but with all of the toppings and glaze, they were very soft almost soggy. It was certainly an interesting experience. I do love hot donuts but I think in the future I will skip toppings.

WOW-Moment doughnuts. We grabbed a dozen today while checking out Surf City. They are made to order and sensational when eaten hot. They are still excellent after they cool as well. The Bacon Bomb was my favorite.

Quality of donuts mediocre. All of them fell apart and were greasy. Although different topping and glazes, they all taste exactly the same. Shop owner was friendly but new worker needs significant training. My number one complaint was the cross contamination I witnessed. New worker had one glove on one hand and no glove on the other. She then took my credit card with the glove hand and did my transaction. She then did the same with the customer behind me. She then proceeded to make the donuts for the other

Don't waste your calories. The premise is interesting, cute, and fun. The execution, though, left me sad and disappointed. The doughnuts themselves have a weird flavor, but the icing made them soggy. It didn't matter if it was eaten within 5 minutes or 5 hours. The flavor profiles were indistinguishable as a whole. The chocolate on the boston cream was a joke, though the cream was generous. They also seemed short staffed, creating a stressful environment for the employees.....

Nice beach donut shop. Flavors were good and lots of topping and glaze options. I would definitely go again, and the only reason I dinged a star was because they wouldn't box just four donuts. So I had to get six or get them bagged, which didn't seem like it would work well to go. Of course I got six and they were tasty. Would have been nice if I didn't feel forced into it though.

We stopped this morning on our way out of town to go back home from our week of vacation. We pulled in at 6:50 and they were actually already open, which was a nice surprise for us! We bought a Blueberry Hill, Ms. Prunella, Strawberry Shortcake, and a monthly special of Lemon Meringue. I had the Blueberry and Prunella, which were excellent!! The flavor was great and not overwhelmingly sweet. They were fresh and came apart easily because of that. My husband had the Shortcake and the Meringue and he said ?oh

This custom donut shop is the one place that everyone in my family wanted to make sure we got to again this year on our vacation to Topsail.

The donuts are gooey soft and extremely sweet- to us they seemed undercooked. I guess a lot of people like them full of strong ( and some tasted artificial) flavorings and lots and lots of sugar. But we couldn?t eat them. Service was fast but the place had the feel of a busy fast food joint.

These are the best doughnuts around. Every year my friends and I come to Surf City and these doughnuts are a staple of our experience, one of the things we look forward to most next to the beautiful beaches here. The quality is also super consistent, year after year they taste just like we remember. 5/5 stars!

One of our favorite stops at he beach. The doughnuts are hot and made fresh and there are unique flavor combinations. The blackberry pie is one of my all-time favorites, but the bacon bomb is amazing too and I don?t think you can make a wrong choice.

Have been going to the Fractured Prune for years as their doughnuts are excellent. Now with the addition of their new bagel shop, it is a must stop when on the island. The bagels are the real deal if you are from the Northeast; great chew and flavor. I also had a bagel sandwich which had a fried egg, taylor ham, bacon and pepper jack cheese on an Asiago and provolone bagel. Superb!!! Plus, it is wonderful to support a locally owned family business. WE WILL BE BACK!!!

You would miss a great doughnut if you passed up this small shop with interesting doughnut flavors! Step up and order your doughnut, maybe Peanut Butter Cup or Banana Puffing. Came across this place on a weekend getaway to Topsail... definitely worth trying out these treats! We tried a variety of what was on the board... my favorite was the banana cream pie, and my husband's was the Death by Chocolate. Best to eat shortly after purchasing, as they're made to order and warm. After a few hours, they get a little soggy... but still yummy!

They are amazing! They are made right in front of you and they take their time in doing so. We get them at least 2 times when we visit. I highly recommend. And if you get a shirt and wear it to the store you get a free OC Sand doughnut!
