DK Donuts is widely praised for its fresh, fluffy, and flavorful donuts, with standout favorites like the maple bars, chocolate-drizzled braided donuts, and sausage-cheese pastries. Many consider it the best in Boise, citing its affordability, variety, and family-owned charm. However, a few criticize inconsistent freshness, poor service, or cleanliness issues. Genuinely the best donuts I?ve had to date. I didn?t realize how incredible these donuts are until I moved to Salt Lake City, and I am still on a hunt for a donut place that even comes close to DK. The donuts are beautifully fried, fluffy, and the perfect balance of sweet. Their maple flavor is unmatched.

Solid old school donut place that offers a lot of choices in donuts. Gave it five stars for atmosphere because it is a well stocked donut place that makes plenty of varieties of donuts with the intent to get you in and out with some great donuts. Not a place to hang out and drink coffee and chat, place is small but it is a donut place. Maybe a little pricey, but really good, and perhaps you have not noticed that those crappy ones at the gas station are even more expensive. These small places are disappe

Always the best old fashioned donuts. So soft and perfect amount of sweet. The staff was so exceptionally kind and patient. Very excited for their Nampa location to open!

DK donuts has the most amazing donuts! Toppings stay on and dough is cloud-like. Service is friendly and amazing. I love that they are staying in their downtown location and making it beautiful.

I stopped in to buy 4 dozen donuts. I?m standing at the counter waiting and nobody even acknowledged I was there. There were other patrons also waiting. Then a guy walks in and they immediately begin helping him. Terrible way to operate. Took my business elsewhere.

The staff was so friendly and the donuts were delicious! The box was so cute too! I definitely recommend this place!

Head over early and grab yourself some of the softest and yummiest donuts in town. I love the old fashion blueberry one and my husband loves the bacon maple one. We just recently picked up some of the sprinkle donuts for a baby sprinkle we were hosting and they were a hit!

So glad that this place is staying open here after all! The braided maple bars with chocolate drizzle never disappoint.

I've been going to this place for 15 years. And still makes fresh donuts. They're amazing family hard worker. Now that I've moved to downtown Boise, I'll be going there more often. If you love an old fashioned donuts well you found it. This is the place to stop by!

Very dark and cluttered. Lady at counter was rude. Food tasted old. No place to sit. No public restrooms. Not alot of doughnut types. Man in back was outside, then came in, and he didn't wash his hands. Touched food. I threw my food away and left

Good Donuts. My only quibble, is that I wish they had more stuffed varieties. But then again, fantastic pastries leave me wanting more.

They currently offer discounted donuts on "Too Good To Go" and we've been getting a box a week. They are fresh, soft, and delicious donuts!

This used to be my favorite place! USED TO BE! Now the doughnuts are very dry and taste a few days old. They're always out of all the flavors we love with very few others, no matter what time of day we go. Prices have literally doubled. There hasn't been ANY upkeep of the building itself- inside or out, except adding the new marquis to hike prices! ?????????

Guru looked good but it took 3 staff members 12 min to serve one person their donut. DK there was an elderly woman than turned out our box of a dozen in 2 min. I think they spent their time in making the donuts rather than taking their time serving them. They were so good they didn't make it to the car.

By far the best donuts in Boise. The staff is courteous and service is fast, but expect to stand in line if you go before 9 am.

I get donuts all over town and DK Donuts is still my favorite. When you eat one of their donuts you know it was made fresh you know it was made that day and when I get a filled donut (bismark) it is actually filled with the stuff I wanted to be in there and not just a little splotch in one end of one side of the donut. They truly epitomize the word filled. I cannot say that I have ever had a better Maple bar and I have eaten at a lot of expensive donut places and these are still the best. I still miss the c

Cool classic donut shop and it reminds you of what donut shops used to be. I had a buttermilk and a glazed old fashioned donuts. Both tasted great.

Old school Boise. DK has been around forever and has the best donuts in the valley, hard stop. Service is lovely, it?s family-owned and operated, and I will continue to support them forever and ever.

Best donuts in Boise. Always fresh. Great texture. Great price. DK is a Boise institution and a must try.

Google told us we were going to Dunkin Donuts so I was a little surprised when we arrived and it wasn?t a Dunkin. HOWEVER, I?m so glad it wasn?t a Dunkin Donuts. This place had real, fresh, quality, homemade donuts! The woman who helped me was very friendly and helpful. I thought it was neat that there was an entire pallet of donut ingredients, I?ve never seen such big bags of ingredients before. I got a few donuts (cake donut and maple bacon bars) and a coffee. Well when we got back on the road and I pulle

I went in and bought two donuts yesterday. Total 3.86. THEN my cash app shows that a Five dollar tip was added!!!! I never tipped five bucks!! Very shady!!!! I'm calling them today!! Wonder if this happens to others.

Best donuts for 1000 miles square, maybe more. Highly recommended.

Obviously delicious donuts. The staff is fantastic. If you need a donut, get one from here.

Big DK Donuts gunna fill up your mouth with sweet oooey-goooey! Lotta decent examples of well made donuts in this joint. They even spelled donuts correctly. Kudos to you Big DK Donuts!

We were in town visiting family and we got up this morning really wanting doughnuts so we thought we'd give D K Donuts a try. We were not disappointed. The doughnuts tasted very good and they were also very fresh. We don't do a lot of doughnuts so it's nice when they turn out this good. We will definitely find our way there next time we're in town.

By far the best donuts I've ever had. The donuts are always fresh, light and fluffy, the service is excellent and their hours are quite convenient. The shop is nothing fancy but the donuts are always perfect.

Very nice people, and very delicious donuts.

The Girl that works the counter is friendly and efficient. Their products are very good and their prices reasonable

This is an older donuts shop and they make a good verity of donuts. They keep busy and sometimes they close early due to getting sold out. Come support a local business.

Very friendly staff and delicious donuts.

Nice place, but they didn't have much of a variety. Not sure if I went at a bad time or what? I will try again though because the doughnuts were good.

I came here because I was told they had the best donuts. I got here at 450 am and stood by their front door to be unlocked. It wasn't open on time. But I assumed they were busy making donuts so I didn?t care. Nevertheless the man working there wasn?t friendly at all. In fact he looked mad that he had to open the door. I proceeded to ask for a dozen donuts. Turns out they don?t have the big ones ready for another hour. They only had a few to choose from. He wasn?t nice about anything in fact. So I decided to

This place is fantastic. A Boise staple that never fails.

This is the place place to get Donuts. Go early in the morning. The staff friendly, great people.

Dive in for fresh, quality donuts! You will not be disappointed. A little pricey but always hear 'Wow' from the crowd when I bring these tasty treats in to the office.

This is one of the best local spots in Boise. are donuts are fresh in absolutely amazing they also have coffee and espressos. My absolute favorite is there hot dog!

DK donuts is a diamond in the rough that is donut establishments in the area. Seriously, the best. While from an outward appearance DK isn?t necessarily the largest or the most blingy so I understand if you overlook the store initially but I assure you it?s worth giving a shot.

Best maple bacon bars, period. They're delicious and smothered in bacon. Get there early enough to snag a Kolache (sausage roll)!

ABSOLUTE JOKE OF A PLACE So I went into DK donuts Monday morning, I walked in and it was a complete joke! There was spiders and fly?s and even some cockroaches literally all over the place. I was baffled. So anyway I decided I would give it a try and the service was even worse!! I ordered a chocolate frosted donut and a Coffee. It took over 30 minutes just to serve them to me! But to make matters worse the donut was almost half eaten, and covered in I can?t even tell you. It was disgusting.. At this point

Great donut place, would recommend the maple and chocolate donut. Affordable traditional donuts.

We stopped by on a recent road trip and were pleasantly surprised by the donuts! Our favorites are the glazed croissants, maple bars, and chocolate glazed donuts. Worth a visit if you love donuts and are in the Boise area.

The maple bacon donuts are my favorite. Always fresh and absolutely delicious. I crave these all the time.

Great Donuts. Great selection. Making them fresh all morning. They do go quick, because space is limited and quantities are low. As people are buying multiple dozen. But they're trying to get him out as quickly as possible. And you usually have really fresh donuts. Good coffee and good prices. Easy to get in and out of the parking lot.

A Maple donut with bacon...I really didn't know how incomplete my life was. I really enjoy this place and the owners. Super clean and ultra friendly. But get there early if you want a wider variety of choices because they only cook for that day so when items run out they are gone. That's the reason for the 4.5 rating. The coffee is also good. Not to strong.

We stopped in after Swimteam to grab a quick doughnut. They had hardly any choices. It also shouldn?t cost 10+ for 4 doughnuts.

Always a classic go to. Always fresh, always tasty!

These guys make a twisted Maple donut with chocolate drizzle and the bread is so soft and moist! I'm homegrown in Boise and NEVER found a donut that parallels this one! Magnificent! Go early tho they have a following! PERFECTION!

This place may sell good, fresh donuts at times, but I picked up a dozen around 8am and they tasted like they were 3 days old. Anywhere else would have been better tasting than these. The price is also not excellent as stated in other reviews. A dozen of basic donuts (especially when stale) for $9 is not cheap.

I go here on average once a week. The donuts are excellent and usually very fresh, even in the evening (it's open until 9 pm at the time of this writing) and it's run by a woman who I swear works there all day every day of the week with her son. Best donuts in town.

Excellent donuts! Some of the best I?ve ever had. Warm & welcoming atmosphere! Terrific & kind service!

We have visited this place a few times now and have tried quite a few of their offerings. While their main items are sweet donuts, this place does offer a few savory items. The one that we have tried is the grown up version of pigs in a blanket. Also, their donuts are consistently delicious and not cloyingly sweet.

Best donuts in town, best customer service

DK is my absolute favorite donut shop! I first experienced their service when I was a little girl and I have loved them ever since. Their donuts are better than any other place I've tried and I'm a big time foodie so that's a BIG complement. Their dough is super fresh, their service is amazing, they have SO MANY SELECTIONS TO CHOOSE FROM. I definitely recommend them over the mainstream Krispy Kreme's and the price is way more doable than the mainstreamers too. If you wanna make a habit of shopping local, th

Best donuts in the valley, rare to find donut shops like this one nowadays. Glad they are in Boise, very friendly staff. The Donuts are delicious. I have yet to try a donut ...With bacon! Apparently they are magnificent.

Good selection of donuts, They have always been fresh and pricing is still fair!

Friendly staff! Open early, which is great. Easily accessible from state or 13th, a light allows for good traffics flow. Maple and chocolate bars sell out quickly in the morning, best to order ahead or be prepared to wait. Doughnuts are fresh and delicious at a reasonable price.

Quick and to the point customer service. Get in and get out which is what you need when youve got hungry kids at home. Great quality donuts! I recommend the apple fritter and the bacon crumble maple bar.

What, no crumble donuts? Price was good and front counter lady was awesome for helping me choose the right box for a backpack. Donuts and service were good, really wish there were more choices though.

It's the closest donut shop to home. It was super crowded on Saturday morning, could barely get in the door. The donuts are good. They got a basic selection but not much more, exception being some bacon nailed bars. They didn't even have any jelly filled donuts which was disappointing. Did someone buy them all before I got there or do they just not make them? I should have asked. They didn't have my other favorite but that's no surprise bc many places don't carry French Cruellers. So I give three stars bc t

No heart or pride can be seen at this place. From the outside and inside not being clean to a general lack of care about service provided. Truth is, it only does what business it manages to because there is no competition in the vicinity. If a new doughnut place opened nearby, treated customers well, made quality product, and kept up the consistency ... They'd do very well. It's a shame DK owners don't realize the potential. If they'd only put in the effort

They sell day old donuts as fresh. I live close by and at closing time the old woman that works there said she would not sell the donuts cheaper because she will just sell them tomorrow. I'm not trying to get free donuts but at closing time you should give a bit of a discount.

I have been going to this establishment off and on since the early 70's. Starting with Winchell's Donuts,it was an every day treat. Then things changed several different things. And one big change was the loss of the neighborhood feel. And I finally caught up and found a most delightful return of a very good donut shop again. Thank you DK Donuts.

Hands down the best donuts in downtown Boise. Thry have extremely light, crispy, and fresh maple bars with a great assortment of other donuts but the maple bars are my favorite. Prices are super affordable and the employees are always very kind. Open early for pre work pickup.

Great donuts except out of my favorite @9am. Apple Fritters!!!

Came in around closing time and they still had fresh maple bars. Gave us a free one it being our first time there. I'll take this over a fresh Krispy creme any day. Really good and great friendly service.

Picked up a dozen to surprise my family - my mom cannot stop raving about the apple fritter and homemade custard in the Bismarck. Highly recommend

My son and I call it going for an adventure. Usually it begins around 5:00a after a rough night and my wife needs a bit more sleep. The little guy and I stop at DK for donuts, drive down to the Starbucks on 17th and State for coffee and hot chocolate, then to the top of one of the downtown parking garages to checkout the lights of Boise and depending on the time of year, watch the sunrise over the foothills. The donuts are delicious and there are lots of varieties with various toppings for the little ones

Stop in early for their best selection, because they do sell out. You can also get coffee to go. Guru is where you go for custom made donuts, but for everyday donuts, D K is right up there with Pastry Perfection and Country Donuts.

I found this place while on a Greyhound bus trip from Lincoln, Nebraska to Portland, Oregon. It was the only place near the Greyhound bus station. A week later my boyfriend took the same Greyhound from Evanston, Wyoming to Portland and I begged him to stop by and bring me back some of their donuts. He did. Today I'm in Boise, amazingly and had to stop again. It's my favorite donut shop in the world! Thank you Mr. Long for your incredible donuts!

These guys are the best. But I wish they would make more of the braided donuts. ?????? They are always gone by the time I get there and they are like the best donuts in the world. I mean the ones with the chocolate frosting with maple icing drizzled on them.

First time ordered a apple fritter a bear claw a cinnamon roll a creamfilled pastry and a small hot mocha. But they suddenly ran out of every donuts the next time I tried ordering. Just how many donuts can they make and seems like they run out of everything so quick.

Bacon does not belong on a maple bar. Maple bare was good. Apple fritters were good. Young lady at counter was very friendly and polite. Definitely go again!

By far my favorite doughnut place on this earth. All the doughnuts are great but the star of the show here has gotta be the sausage and cheese pastry. It's incredible and u cannot recommend enough.

Well regarded among all the locals I know as the best donut shop in town. If you like more cake-y donuts I'd recommend Guru. But if you want the traditional donut shop with lighter dough and all your favorites, D K is the place to go. I've come to know their bacon maple bars as their signature donut (first place I've seen do it). They do it really well, the bacon is good bacon, thick chunks, not bacon bits for a salad, or cheap "fast food" bacon.

Great local mom and pop donut shop. Their yeast and cake donuts are both great. Sausage kolache rolls are delicious as well!! Yum!

Came on a Saturday at 1pm and wasn't expecting there to be much of a selection left but I was surprised at the variety that was left. Got a vanilla iced donut and it was phenomenal! Will definitely be back!

DK isn't fancy, but they have the best donuts in Boise. Especially their braids and cake donuts. My favorites are the cherry cake, blueberry cake and chocolate braids. They have 5 air pots with delicious serve-yourself coffee. Love it!

Yummyyyy I love this place I always went here after church with my parents when I was a wee one and I like to go still every now and then soo so yummy I love their blueberry donut it is my favorite you should try it

Just what we needed for a trip up the i21 to Stanley. Tasty donuts

One of the best classic donut shops in town. None of that too sweet Krispy Cream style donut coated in sprinkles or filled with cheap sugar goo. The DK donuts are classic and delicious. Yum yum yum. Suggest picking up 6 or twelve and heading to a local park with the kids. Helps burn off the sugar rush... then head home for a nice sugar crash/play induced nap after.

My favorite is their cinnamon twists, a kind of doughnut that isn't often available elsewhere . . . although come to think of it, it's available here only about 20% of the time. Nice people; free, easy parking and usually only a short wait in line for choosing your doughnuts. Try to avoid using their restrooms, though-- they are the nastiest I have seen in Boise. Very tiny, too, which means that it's difficult to avoid accidentally touching one of the filthy walls (and of course there's now way to exit w

They're very nice and they have so many choices of donuts. PLUS, they have a sausage and cheese donut that's scrumptious. However, upon reviewing my receipt once I got home (I had 2 kids under 4 with me) I found that I was charged twice for the milk we bought. Simple fix I thought......I called and asked to just pick up the extra one they charged me for on the next business day and the man lectured me on taking time out of his day for this and told me he didn't care if I had kids with me and that I wasn't

5 stars because he deserves it, fresh, delicious, and he is a hard working, efficient individual.....I will definitely be going back!!

Went in around 4:30 AM to pick up donuts to go. Old lady was rather nasty and impatient, despite the fact that I pointed out that I was a first-time customer. The donuts were stale and tasteless. Place seemed dirty. Not expensive but then sometimes you get what you pay for. Will never return.

Went there this morning for an apple fritter and a few things for a few other people...everything was terrible. I haven't been there in a while but maybe new ownership? It just went downhill big time. Same prices but everything is half the size it was before and kinda stale even though I got there at 0800. Wont be going back or recommending...Too bad. It used to be good.

Amazing! I always love their donuts and my family does too! They are so nice and the donuts are light and they have many options to choose from

No Cinnamon or sugar donuts, always out of donut holes and majority of donuts if you don?t get there at the opening time. Good donuts when they do have them but they almost never do?

I bought a thing of milk and a maple bacon bar and within minutes felt sick. The bacon tasted very chemically when I was eating it so I only took a few bites and I still spent the entire day on the toilet, I don?t recommend unless you love Diarrhea; if you love Diarrhea five stars, I was sick all day
