Country Style Donuts

Needed something sweet after dinner and searched a shop and this lovely small donut shop popped up. The customer service is great and there's plenty of donut options to pick from. I tried a couple donut holes and a powdered donut. Meh, wasn't the best, but not the worst I've had. I expected better due to the great reviews. I'll go back just to try a couple more items and update my review after that. For the donuts themselves I give a ??????.

You want a apple fritter the size of your head? Or a coffee roll the size of a small child? They got you! The doughnuts are always fabulous. I only wish they had ice cream to have with the warm apple fritter! ????

Country Style Donuts flat out make a fantastic product. We do not live near the shop but always try to make time to stop by when in the area. Today we were helping Wreath Across America retire the wreaths placed on gravesites at Richmond National Cemetery. Adorable little shop! The owner was there when I came in, he was so friendly!!! Ordered 24 doughnut holes, a variety of blueberry, buttermilk and traditional. I ate probably 8 of them on the way home, they were SO good!!! The buttermilk are my favorite, thick dough, beautiful glazed icing, just amazing!!! Will DEFINITELY be coming back!

Fast and friendly service and delicious donuts! Especially loved the apple crum, buttercream with chocolate frosting, and guava with cream cheese frosting!

I came here before and enjoyed the donuts and coffee, so when in the area again I stopped in. Both times I got donuts and a gallon of coffee for coworkers for a meeting and both times they liked what I got. They have donut holes too, even seasonal ones, like pumpkin. They also have these huge turnovers, like apple turnovers. Staff is friendly and helpful too. Definitely worth stopping in!

This is a personal favorite of my whole family! Drove about 25 mins after work, and everything is always delicious!!! Definitely 10 out of 10... They also tend to donate some of the doughnuts at the end of the night, and that always make MY heart happy.

I love the country-style donuts. They have so many flavors to choose from. The vibe and customer service make me feel at home. When someone walks in, the owner says hi with a big smile and welcomes them. The price is not cheap, but it's worth it.

What can I say about these donuts. We went there late at night around 10 pm. We picked up a half dozen, and they were totally amazing. They were fresh, soft, and light. The next, they were even better. I am a dunkin' donut woman, but these donuts are my new favorite. Please visit the country style donuts shop. when you're in richmond by the airport. Enjoy

It?s in the name! Country Style Donuts is fantastic! Not just the donuts but the friendly service and the down home feel. I got 6 different flavors of donuts, I got to eat 2 of them and they were wonderful, the blueberry and the maple glazed! My family, unfortunately ate the others ??. They were very pleased. You have to check this place out!

Do not be deterred by the outdated storefront and interior. These doughnuts are so much better than the commercial chains. They have the best and freshest custard ones. The most gigantic coffee rolls, apple fritters, twists and eclairs I?ve seen. It?s too bad there aren?t more locations. This one is not far from the airport.

Very delicious donuts! They are much bigger and tastier than Krispy Kreme. Lots of variety to choose from. They offered coffee and tea as well. They had tables and seats or you can take it to go. Very polite and welcoming employees. Have been a few times and will definitely be going back. My kids love them too.

Some of the best donuts I've had in Virginia.. Made fresh daily.. Watch the girl up front with your payment though, they use payment with tip option and she will try and be slick to add herself a tip. Make sure you total out before you leave.. Ok, so I've always wanted 2 try this place and finally did today. And I'm pretty heartbroken. The product is outstanding but the business is horrible. I'll detail. While the prices and quality of the doughnuts is outstanding, what wasn't at all was the service and atmosphere. No one in this establishment is friendly. Not the owners there, nor any of the customers walking in. Everyone in the Sandston establishment was silent. NOBODY greeted anybody from the time my husband and I walked in until we left. And

My first time visiting with my fiance and the lady behind the counter was very flustered from a busy morning but didn?t give a second thought on how to treat a different customer. Bad timing, I get it. But it was too much of a bother for me to take some time and look at their full display. I definitely didn?t feel like asking for a small coffee. She would?ve lost it. They won?t have to worry about having me as a customer again.

Not the most friendly personnel. Make you feel as though you?re not truly welcomed. I understand many businesses are struggling but to serve your customers is part of your job or should be. I?m not tipping you for doing your job. Unless you truly go above and beyond what is required. Then and only then will I entertain that request. This is not it. My husband loves their donuts but will not go in to purchase their products. He says he doesn?t feel welcome. So I don?t entertain their facility anymore.

Me and my daughter stopped in here about a week ago. Their staff is friendly. It?s clean. And everything is so fresh and taste amazing are used to think a warm Krispy Kreme doughnut taste good but they were by far some of the best donuts I ever had if you?re ever in the area definitely stop by.

I've been having to travel to Richmond for work, and this little hole in the wall is just what I needed in the morning. Fresh, made well, friendly staff and just delicious. If you're in Richmond and looking for a treat in the morning, skip the big grocery stores and come here.

Best 1970's style doughnuts ever. Best selection of flavors when not sold out. Better than Sugar Shack doughnuts. Better than Dunkin Doughnuts. Better than Krispy Kream doughnuts. Better than Duck Doughnuts. Better than Mr. Doughnut. Better than any garbage doughnut bought at the Grocery store. I go 1-2 times a year for their doughnuts because they are far away and I am on a diet. Another place that my wife and I used to visit all the time when we lived here. As we were driving back to the hotel we stopped and got donuts. In my opinion they may serve the best donuts ever. We used to come here on Sunday morning and wait in line for 1 to 2 hours to get donuts. The wait tonight wasn?t long at all however the donuts were outstanding. The server was excellent. If you are in the area and don?t try them you will never know what you missed.

The appearance is minimalistic, but it's because they keep it all about the donuts! Best donuts on earth, not a bad one in the dozen varieties we tried. So fresh it seems impossible!! Exceeded expectations with favorites being coconut and lemon cream. The service is extremely friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and fast! The price point is very reasonable for such inspiring and special creations. Highest recommendation, you won't be disappointed. I can't wait to go back!

This place is the real deal. Did not like my cinnamon roll at all I?ll just stick the donuts in the future. Keep it simple.

Let me start by saying I am not a dessert or donut person but these are easily the best of both worlds! The dough is light not overly sweet and fluffy! Please stop by and try them out!

Like others have mentioned, this is the best place around for doughnuts. The dough they use is awesome making the doughnuts 10x better. Also the doughnuts are made fresh daily and are never dry unlike some of the big chains. They have a great assortment and the prices are fair. Everytime I go there is always a small line but the staff is quick to serve so the wait isn't long. I highly recommend you give them a try.

First time here was referred by a friend to go, cute little mom & pop shop donuts are very fresh and made everyday they we're still bringing donuts out. Small variety of choices but good enough to have different choice in a half of dozen and possibly a dozen.

1/20/2023 update - half dozen is now $12. I gave em another try and sad to say the place has lost its magic. Shameful. Just had a chocolate cr?me filled with no filling. And here?s a lemon filled with almost no filling. If I lived closer I?d be there to get all my money back. Rip off.

The best donuts in and around the Richmond area. You haven't had a delicious donut until you've had a country style donut. I've been going there for donuts since 2014. Always an office favorite. Donut perfection.

An old school diner feel with a couple of tables if you want to eat your donut and drink your coffee there. The largest (and tastiest) coffee roll I have ever had, and a great selection of standard and seasonal donuts. Pricing was lower than I expected, especially for the giant coffee roll. I definitely plan to return if I am ever in the area

Former co-workers and friends would speak so highly of this place all the time so when I found out that there was one on the East End I decided why not give it a try myself. My kids and I looove donuts but this place will not be our go to place. I had my daughter with me for my first visit and the lady that waited on us was impatient and rude. I noticed a different attitude and demeanor with her "regular" customers. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Very disappointed considering what I've heard of this place. Donuts were not fresh; telltale sign was the stacks of donuts available and the way they had to be peeled apart. $2 each. Save your money. Service was good though.

Really great doughnuts! I was pleasantly impressed when I walked in. The smell of the doughnuts made me really excited to try them. I was visiting from out of town and stayed at hotel nearby. I came across them when searching the different food options near the hotel I stayed at. The blueberry jelly doughnut was my favorite next to the the glazed doughnut.

I came in and the woman behind the counter ignored me and refused to give me service. She actually laughed at me while I walked out and thought the whole ordeal was funny. I?ve been coming here for years but I will no longer come to this location.

Wonderful shop that usually goes out of their way to be kind and remember you. If you go any time of day you can usually find something you like no matter what. The quality is far superior to that of all the big box shops around as well as way better customer service. The shop is always clean and never has trash sitting around.

They have giant sized to mini sized sweets. I love the old fashioned and the apple ones. Great tastes too

While being down here in Richmond for training I asked around where to get quality donuts as I always do whenever Iam away from home. I have been to hundreds of donut shop and without a doubt Country style would be among the best I have ever enjoyed. The staff are friendly as well as the customers. I have been here at least 4-5 times over my time here in Richmond and everytime the donuts are made fresh from open until closed. I will miss having such a great donut shop so close to me.

Donuts are delicious. Vibes are great, friendly workers. Way more expensive than I expected and what photos of the menu say. A single donut was at least $2. I was eating one of their donuts and the inside was still raw. Hopefully I don't get sick.

This is probably the best doughnut place in the city. Be prepared to spend a little money, but the quality of the donuts is most definitely worth it. This isn?t the type of place you want to sit and enjoy your purchase. You definitely have to catch them either early in the morning or before noon. Anytime after that, you won?t get a good selection of donuts.

My family and I stopped in here on our way out of Richmond. These are the best doughnuts I?ve ever had in my life. My son got the apple fritter and it was as big as his face (he?s 12). We then got 2 strawberry sprinkled and a chocolate sprinkled I believe. They were so soft and perfectly glazed. I also got the Apple Crumble doughnut but didn?t get to eat it until the next day. You can never go wrong with Country Style Donuts. There's a reason they've been in business so long. I'm thankful they opened up a shop on W. Broad so I can get them closer to home when I'm not in the East End visiting friends. Their donuts are generously sized and wonderfully yeasty. The cake donuts are moist. You can usually find a wide variety of flavors. Buttermilk is my favorite, along with chocolate glazed and their Boston creams.
