I came in to sample donuts to cater for an event and the girl behind the counter, Cameron, was incredibly helpful. She ran through the different flavors and kinds of donuts, and helped me with pricing and my options. I ultimately had to go to another Coco location to get my sample which Cameron helped facilitate as this location was doing a private tour. 10/10 would recommend if Cameron is working.
Want and got some donuts at Coco Donuts Uptown ?? ??. I got the cinema rolled donut and the Apple fritter donut($3.25 ea). I didn't get anything to drink. Because I was in a hurry and I just wanted some donuts real fast, but the smell of the coffee was really tempting. If you don't drink coffee, there are other options such as different varieties of tea and hot chocolates. The prices are quite reasonable, nothing is more over ($6.50). The packaging is super cute, too. That atmosphere at the shop is quite re
Good coffee. Good donuts. If Coco Donuts are your jam in this town full of donut options you probably already know it. For me it was a good white mocha in the right spot before I caught the train. Waited inside for the train to arrive then walked right on board. This spot is spartan but clean and close to the MAX transit stop next to Providence Park.
Lovely, low-key coffee shop with a friendly vibe. Their coffee showed me what it means for coffee to have a "smooth" flavor. The man behind the counter was really helpful in suggesting items. Definitely try the lavender donut, the flavor is sweet and subtle, not overpoweringly floral like lavender tends to be.
Routinely out of most donut inventory within just a couple hours of opening. If anyone is ahead of you ordering coffee it makes the trip in take ten times as long as the single employee on hand artisinally crafts each drink individually as the line continues to back up. Blue Star down the street does not have these issues.
I love Coco donuts and I've been here many times. I decided to try sesame ball ( well, because I'm asian, and why not) because it legit looks like my mama's. I bit into it and OH EM GEE, this is 100% legit and still shocked at how good this is. The outside of the ball is crunchy and soft, and the mung bean is soft and not dry. You must try this if you like rice balls & mung beans! Update: I also tried the Ube and it also is delicious too... COCO, okayyy, I see youuuuu..... !!
Great little doughnut shop! Really friendly staff. The buttermilk doughnuts are totally worth trying! Best for takeout - Not a huge space for sitting but a few stools and couches if you want to linger.
This is an awesome donut shop. I like fluffy donuts with the basic flavors. Blue Star is too fancy and Voodoo is just sugar with a marketing hype. Coco makes donuts that make you crave more without feeling sick afterwards.
Wow! Customer service and generosity is beyond any expectation we could have had! Donuts and drinks are delicious! We had the best experience here today. So grateful!! You should go here!
Easy service and tasty donuts, what else more could you ask for? Everyone I've encountered when getting a donut here has been very friendly and easy going. I will give a big plus to Coco donuts too for being cool with cyclists bringing in our bike to get a donut, it makes it much easier just to roll it in like one would with a stroller and I'm happy that it isn't a big deal. The donuts are delicious and priced very reasonably. You can expect all of your classic donuts here and some specials such as the moc
Really tasty donuts. Very tasty coffee. I'm glad I found this place. The matcha green tea mochi donut is sublime.
Update 2025: Have repeatedly had further experiences where shop was mostly out of stuff to sell by 9am, and have had to leave empty handed. Pros: Good donuts (mochi in particular are fantastic). Friendly service. Cons: Inconsistent inventory (often out of food items 2+ hours before closing). Unreliable hours (stopped in today at 650 but not open despite sign on door saying open at 630). Coffee orders take several times as long to service as donuts because the cashier has to stop what theyre doing to make
I just had an amazing donut from Coco! The braided look is pretty, the texture was tender and delicious, and the icing was flaky and not too sweet. Cheaper than Blue Star too...
The donuts are really good, but lately, they don?t open on time and their donut deliveries are late. I either wait or leave without donuts. It?s not possible for me to pick up donuts for the office and still make it to work on time.
Great tasting doughnuts with super friendly service and a relaxing atmosphere. I had the lavender doughnut which was not too sweet , super fresh, and reasonably priced ($1.65 for a doughnut unlike those greedy munchkins over at Blue Star). Would definitely come back to try some of the others!
Such a tasty donut place! The mochi donut is so unique and so delicious. Great idea for a donut! Having tried many donuts, this place was a standout for sure.
Really nice service, kind to the kids (even gave them stickers), and tasty donuts and drinks! They specialize in lavender donuts but have a variety.
Donuts were good, service was friendly. The shop seemed very community focused which I appreciate.
Came all the way from Florida...avoided the tourist trap donut shops and went to the roots of a real donut at Coco Donuts, fantastic service, awesome coffee, laid back feel, and amazing donuts !!! Thank you !
I loved this place. The owner was my Server he made me the most amazing cup of coffee ? the donuts are better then Krispy kreme hands down.. This place is a must try....
Super nice staff and absolutely delicious donuts. The texture and flavors are both great. In my mind, this is the second best donut shop in Portland after Sesame donuts (though it's neck and neck, in sports terms Sesame wins in overtime), and that's not a criticism of Coco Donuts, it's more a commentary on how many great donut shops are in this city and how insanely high the standard is. Second best is still very, very good. You should definitely try these donuts.
Hands down best donuts, and delicious coffee. Donuts are fresh, light, but has that little crispy outer shell. Flavors are on point. Evening you want in a donut. Staff was awesome. I stayed in Portland for 2 weeks and met every person that worked at the uptown store and every single one of them were great!
I make this trip to got great donuts. My family like them and they are very well made.
The donut was first class. Just arrived I believe. 8 ounce Latte ? Not bad about an 7 /10 As Aussies who live close to Melbourne it?s hard to compare latte?s.
This place sells out quick so come early if you want their donuts. The matcha mochi one is my favorite one here and I would definitely recommend it.
Excellent donuts with a lot of variety, love that they roast their own coffee. Better coffee than most cafes I've been to, and not a bad price either ($3 a cup, I think).
We visited Coco Donuts in the late morning and most the donuts had been bought out. The employee said that they had been unusually busy, so maybe that's not a frequent thing. As a consequence, there weren't a lot of donuts to choose from. BUT the donuts that were there were quite good, and the employee/staff was extremely pleasant and had good customer service. The lavender coffee and Thai tea were good as well. Overall I'm still pretty pleased with my experience at this donut shop.
Great place to stop off for a donut and coffee when I catch the early MAX. Volcano dark coffee is awesome!
I?ve been stopping by this place for quite some time now and the donuts are great with good prices to match, especially since I buy for my company, so it?s always in multiple dozens. Service is great whenever I get this thin blonde girl, given that I?ve only seen like 2 workers over the past year or so. The other boy is very nice too, I might be a little biased since they never have donuts when he?s working, somehow. Anyway, it would be 5 stars if they had a good selection. It seems that whenever I?ve walke
It doesn't matter which location you go to, Coco's always has the best donuts of any bakery or donut shop anywhere. Period! They're always fresh, soft and fluffy like a delicious cloud! Lots of varieties and the staff is super friendly!
Shout out to Sunny! She has worked her for as long as i?ve been coming here and always maintains a cheery disposition and makes my coffee EXACTLY how I like it. I find it hard to find places where the coffee and service is consistent. Coco Uptown is what I recommend to all friends and visitors!
I had the Vietnamese coffee, which came with a complimentary donut hole -- a delightful surprise. At 3pm, though, all the donuts were already sold out, so don't wait too long! The coffee is Stumptown, a nice roast. The espresso was better than most other places I've been to so far.
Their best seller is their maple bar, but the lavender glazed and apple fritter were heavenly as well. Their espresso is also amazing. The fall spice latte and gingerbread latte were perfectly balanced, not too sweet, and topped with beautiful latte art. There are no chairs, so you stand at a bar by the window and enjoy the street view, but it's cozy enough to make it work.
I've been going to this coffee shop for about a year now. The service has always been consistent, but the best part is how personalized it is. I occassioanlly get coffee for my coworkers as well, and she knows each of us by name and our order. Even today I didn't know what to get for one of my coworkers, but she did. Thank you for all the coffee Sunshine!
I know a few people who really love this place. I don't really get it. They have a relatively modest selection of average donuts that taste fine. I could say the same about Safeway. Actually, Safeway's selection is generally better. I guess I'm just not a Coco kinda guy. The hours aren't all that great, though, either. Overall, the place is fine, and if you're needing a donut fix, you might stop in.
My wife normally loves CoCo donuts, so picked a dozen premium donuts for her family this morning. Got 3 Boston creams (Bavarian cream) as part of the dozen?but all 3 were not filled with anything. Fairly disappointing. I?ve never actually had that happen before at any donut shop. And when I called to let them know, all they said was ?Sorry.? Disappointing customer service this time around. Hopefully next time is better.
They are delicious so get here early. Once they are out...they?re out! The staff will help you mix a dozen for work and make sure you cover all the bases from sprinkles to long johns to jelly filled. I highly recommend the apple fritter here. It is light and fluffy and similar to enjoying a funnel cake. These people definitely know what they are doing. The prices are super reasonable since they are all about quality and not PDX Hype. Keep up the tasty work!
My favorite donut spot in Portland! They have the best texture and flavors, including lavender and mochi donuts. The store is always clean and the staff is friendly. Can?t beat their prices too.
These Donuts are quite good if you want solid Classic Donuts in classic flavors. Definitely more economical than Voodoo or Blue Star Donuts, but gourmet donuts these are not. The grease kind of coats the roof of your mouth and has a slightly oxidized flavor to it imo.
It's time for Easter Sunday brunch, but you forgot a reservation! Oh no! Come to Coco Donuts for your fix of delicious coffee and amazing donuts. Caffeine and Carbs for when you're on the move. Ah, that's better. Thanks, Coco!
I've been going to Coco donuts since I worked out in Tigard; I'd stop at the downtown location before going home in the morning after a graveyard shift. Always a great donut and they introduced me to my first lavender experience in cuisine. Best buttermilk bars ever.
Great little coffee shop, lots of natural light. Love to sit here and read. Donuts are great, but the croissants are my fave. Heard they might start offering savory options, which would make this place the utter best!
Love cocos. They have a good selection of yeast, cake and mochi donuts and the staff is always awesome. Best donut in Portland IMHO.
Excellent donuts, but if it's close to the end of the day don't be fooled into taking the free donut that they offer you alongside the one that you pay for. If you do you'll end up eating both of your crispy apple fritters back to back and feel like trash afterwards.
Best donuts in Portland. Such great, warm staff too! Straight up delicious, fresh donuts that make you happy. Super underrated, this place should have a line out the door.
Coco's is the original Goose Hollow donut shop. Two, three if it's happy hour, great donuts for the price of one at Blue Star! Coco's also allows dogs, Blue Star cannot because it's not allowed by code for a commercial kitchen.
Can't speak to the coffee but the Chai is delicious and the donuts are my favorite in the area. Also the employees are super nice and sometimes pop in an extra donut. Really love going to any of the locations.
Post covid review Great donuts especially now that Blue Star has mostly closed down. I really liked their strawberry frosting it is excellent. Go and buy their donuts and patronize them!
Staff were incredibly nice, but not without a personality of their own. There was a dog present when I walked in and it's hard to think ill of a place when the first?and thus far only?visit was so positive. I do not expect a dog next time I go, but a man can dream DAMNIT!
Walked in with my partner. Big smile on my face, said hello politely. Woman at the counter didn?t even look at me, asked my partner what she wanted. Then, without looking at me, asked ?is that all?? I don?t particularly appreciate being treated as though I?m invisible, not when I?m being polite in the first place. Coffee was sour and tasted of either an unwashed coffee pot or a poor roast, incidentally. Bad coffee, inconsistent service. Good donuts though.
I live right next to this location and used to enjoy going in with my girlfriend to grab a quick cup of coffee or their great cold brew. But, right around the beginning of August 2017 it seems there was a change in staffing. Instead of the extremely welcoming and easy to talk to staff, there are now a set of cranky folks who always look desperately disappointed when all I order is a coffee or cold brew. I have a dairy intolerance, so I do not get to enjoy their donuts, but every damn time I go in and just o
Latte comes with a donut hole which is nice. Iced coffee come with 2 large ice cubes; Good flavor Ran out of donuts on Friday before 9am. It was refilled at about 9:10 though
Coco donuts is a donut shop, a hometown, mom and pop donut shop, the donut quality is ok the coffee is ok the prices are a little presumptuous. Their large 16oz coffee is more than a Starbucks venti. But they do not have the volume that a Starbucks has either. An actual letter that you are going to see on your local coco counter will state that in order to keep costs in line with the cost of a living wage and in order of keeping our employees insured we have had to increase our prices. Coco is not without
Great, fresh donuts. Recommend the glazed buttermilk bars.
Five stars. This is coming from a no donut man.
The people that serve you are very nice but they have a few issues with the place. As I sat down flies were all over the place and you could see junk piled up behind a curtain. They also managed to mess up my simple espresso, giving me the wrong size and the wrong drink.
Oops! As a person with allergies it?s important to get what you order. I popped in for a hot tea. I ordered PLAIN black tea... they have two offerings an English breakfast Smith?s tea or one with flavor. They gave me the wrong tea (sad face) I didn?t realize until I drove off. After a call they promised a free tea when I return. Which I will later in the day.
I love this place! The barista is vaxxed and following the CDC guidelines if you are also vaxxed. Some other people are getting mad that they didn?t read the signs posted saying you still need to wear a max if you are not vaxxed. It?s not hard.
The service here is wonderful. If you are in a rush just call them to keep your order ready especially in the early mornings they keep it ready for you!! I absolutely recommend this place and they are customer focused, friendly and great quality. They have happy hour as well.
Great selection of delicious donuts. Prices are inexpensive. Espresso drinks also available. Run out of donuts later in the day - but also have some great deals at the end of the day!
Wonderful staff , great donuts and coffee!
Friendly service, and amazing donuts. They have the best maple bar I've ever had in my life. Very inexpensive, too. Skip overpriced, overhyped shops like voodoo and Krispy Kreme, and try this little store!
They give you a donut hole with your coffee. Delicious little morsels. The coffee beans are great. One of the best local roasts I've had. Must try.
Great caramel hot Chocolate in a very cute little shop ??
"The best chocolate cake donut I've had in Portland! Really classic very well made donuts and they won't break the bank, I'll definitely have to visit again to see if this may be my new favorite donut spot in Portland."
I truly believe this is THE best donuts I have ever had o.o Delicious but definitely not healthy :O If you don't mind the wheat and milk in these it's a great cheat day option!
A wonderful change of pass from the spazzyness of Voodoo. A everybody knows your name type of shop. A great selection of donuts and some really tasty coffee. It's right off the MAX line too which is nice!
I have had trouble actually getting donuts at the downtown store if I go after noon, but there seems to be a little better supply at the uptown store. The coffee is also wonderful, as always with coco.
First time there and donuts were awesome! Woman there was very friendly and kind enough to buy me a donut with the one I purchased. I will be back.
With all the hype on donuts in this town, I feel as if Coco is underrated. This place has an old school feel, and doesn't come off as what an LA marketing agency thinks a donut shop is.
Went in to a maskless employee talking to a maskless customer about how they can't wait to be at 70% of the population vaccinated because then no one can force them to wear a mask. I don't live in Portland so I won't be going back doesn't carry much weight but suffice to say it won't be on my recommendations list
I recommend this donut shop very nice people that run it I know the bakery comes out of Portland State University where their main bakery is so they are definitely fresh
If you haven't had a handcrafted doughnut then you need to try one from Coco Donuts. Granted a doughnut is just a doughnut to some, but for the foodies at heart, it's definitely all about the joy of that first bite. It has me back for more. At least try it once and decide for yourself.
Delicious donuts that are a huge step up from grocery store ones without a large price hike! Staff are friendly and the coffee's good too!
Really nice and friendly employees. Donuts were really really good, so was the coffee. I will definitely be back.
Great spot to get donuts. Not the most expensive but definitely not the cheapest. Best for the value though as the donuts are amazing and the experience with the staff and space are awesome too!
Wrong donuts. Someone else's order. None of the donuts I ordered arrived. Just cancel the order. Don't force your substitutions on the public just sell donuts.
Perfect donuts, in house roasted coffee. Great staff. I'm honestly baffelled by the negative reviews, it's a wonderful little shop.
Good quality donuts, was a bit rushed on completing my order, I asked what a premium dozen meant and got no explanation. They do however have a reward system.
Such a friendly staff and very helpful! They suggested the cake donut with peanuts and wow! Amazing. Quiet and a good place to work.
Can?t believe I didn?t find this place till the day before I move away! Best donuts I ever had and the two young gals behind the counter were lovely!!
Came in at 9 am, they virtually had no donuts. Really? A donut shop with no donuts? What few ones the did have looked days old and had flies on them. I have never been so disqusted in my life. And I work in a waste processing plant.
Really delicious donuts and awesome staff my son loves to come say hi and they give him a sticker which makes his day.
Excellent donuts. A great variety in PDX, different from the other popular places as these are like classic bakery donuts- done perfectly.
They roast their own coffee, and it's some of the best in Portland. The lavender and the coconut donuts are amazing.
good donuts. Soft dough and right amount of frosting Coffee was okay, I'd go again just for donuts
A great quaint donut shop, located downtown, the service is great, very friendly staff, yummy selection of donuts, coffee is dam good, like place to chill.
There wasn't that many options to choose from when I was there maybe because of what time it was but the staff... So awesome... They get a 5 star rating... So down to earth!!!
