I didn?t know donuts could be this good! Get at least a half a dozen so you can try multiple. I had the maple bar. It was SO soft and had the perfect amount of maple on top. It was so busy inside. It?s a popular place, for good reason!
Oh my goodness! I?m out here from the Washington DC area visiting my adult child and they told me I absolutely had to try Chuck?s donuts. We ordered them last night and picked them up this morning. The apple fritter was absolutely incredible. The crispy edges punctuated with glaze made my eyes roll back in my head. The maple bar was as light as a cloud and the house made maple frosting was incredible. This place is a 10/10. I will definitely be back there again!
It's one of the best doughnut places around. They don't do off the wall crazy ones. But for all your traditional doughnuts, they are hands down one of the best. Baked fresh daily. Get there early, early! Once they're out, they are out for the day. Have yet to have a bad experience there. Top-notch ingredients, top-notch bakers, and top-notch service equals a top-notch experience. When you bite into a fresh baked just an hour or two earlier that morning doughnut, it's like a unicorn, a leprechaun, and a mer
I have passed by Chuck?s numerous times, but never had a chance to stop by. I decided to give it a try and I?m so glad I did! The hype on Chuck?s donuts is legit! Highly recommend their maple bar. Their donuts are so soft and fresh, and the house made maple frosting is amazing. You don?t want to miss this.
Showed up at 4:30am to buy some donuts for work mates. They had already mixed dozen boxes available so it was fast and easy. The maple bars have a homemade feel to them and the flavor is the absolute best. Highly recommend!
Tried to go to Chucks Donuts on a Saturday after noon and they were closed (3:15pm). My kids were so bummed. I promised them I would stop by again the following weekend because they really wanted to try them. Saturday at 1:10pm and it was closed. The sign says 2pm. If the hours changed, please update them so that I don?t drive out of my way to enjoy the ever so talked about Chucks Donuts. Saw another customer pull in after me wondering the same thing. Bummer.
I came here once because a worker always brought us donuts here, and I LOVE THE MAPLE BARS HERE! usually, I can care less about maple bars. One morning, I came here to buy donuts for the workers. The lady that served me seemed like she was rushing me and wasn't really nice. I never came here again. I don't care how good the food is. If the customer service isn't good, then I'm good going somewhere else.
These donuts are out of this world!!! So delicious and like no other maple bar I've ever tried in the best way possible! ?? you gotta go early because they get busy, but so worth it!! ??
If you know, you know. Chuck?s Donuts serves up some of the fluffiest, most satisfying donuts in the Seattle area. The maple bar is a standout, but the real win is how consistent everything is?light texture, not overly greasy, and just the right amount of sweetness. A must-try for any donut lover.
Older Asian woman was rude this morning. First time there and her attitude killed the experience. I understand not having a good job but if you don?t like it, time to find a different one. People start theirs days with donuts but people feed off you. Donuts are a little expensive to have a bad experience to come along with it.
Delicious donuts in your standard donut setting with a very kind staff, reasonable prices, and lots of great classic and new flavors to choose from. This place really does have a different style of maple bar that is hard to explain but other reviews have said creamy ad that makes sense to me. I would recommend Anna stop through Renton for donut lovers.
The most Awesome Donuts in this part of the country. Sells out everyday so go early. Maple Bars are Magnificently Fabulously Delicious. I go between 4-6am. Worth it. Dozen go for about 20-24$ locals are loyal, a must to experience its Grandeur
The atmosphere is not unique to any donut shop - but that's not why people drive to visit Chuck's! The Quality and Variety they offer is second to none - the only catch is you do need to prioritize visiting as early as possible - because Chuck's is not a secret! Show up early and Enjoy!
The donuts were extremely sweet, esp the buttermilk one?it was so crumbly and seeet I felt like I was eating granules of butter mixed with sugar, I really did not enjoy that. The maple bar seemed popular but the ratio of sugary glaze to donut was too high. Th French cruller was the better one out of three
Office donuts day, there were so many to try, I tired Maple Donut bar, the maple icing was thick and more creamy then maple donuts I have tried, it is very sweet. I also tried Apple fritter and the one with peanuts all over. I like the peanuts cover donut, nuts balance out the sweet, Apple fritter was good with big chuck of apples.
Doughnut are the best! I don't know who chuck is, but thank you for my childhood all the way through adulthood with a taste that never changes.
Hands down the best donuts in washington! The maple bars have a whipped topping on them and they are just the absolute best! My dad has been coming here since he was a kid and I've been going since I was a kid. ??
A reason to wake up super early ?? I was able to get some delicious donuts among which are the famous maple bars in Renton! Their custard filled donuts are peak items as well, but man the maple bar was my favorite. I recommend getting up early and grabbing some of these donuts for an experience of a lifetime.
My favorite donut shop. Much better than any of the chains in the area. Their maple bars are legendary. I will always make a stop when I'm in the area.
I ordered an Apple fritter and chocolate cake donut for $6 and the fritter was so hard and tasteless I took two bites and threw it in the compost bin. Not worth it and I do not recommend. I doubt it was made fresh this morning.
Got there shortly after they opened at 3am, all the staff were friendly. The maple bars are absolutely incredible!!!
I've been going here since before I can remember, almost 20 years, and this place consistently pushes out the best tasting, highest quality donuts (especially maple bars) that I have ever had. I couldn't possibly rate them higher, and they deserve it.
This last visit was the most unwelcome and unnatural business exchange I've been a part of in a few years. I hope that something changes....anything would be an improvement. I felt an actual disdain for my business and That I was below them. Not an experience I would care to have again. They didn't seem to have the same issue with my money. Do what you like or find something else to be really bad at your choices are endless.
Came in at 10am, and they still had a lot of donuts left. We opted to buy half a dozen and tried the sugar raised, blueberry scone, maple bar, chocolate bar, and glazed twist. I'm not a big fan of scones, but I think this one would've gone great with coffee. However, I am a big fan of the rest of the donuts that we got from them. I ate these for a midnight snack 13+ hours later, and the sugar raised and bars were still super light, fluffy, and airy. Each bite was perfect to me and not too sweet. Needless to
Us Renton folk know what?s up when it comes to doughnuts! Chuck?s is a Renton Institution! They used to make doughnuts for Hazen when I went there (class of 91?) but I think this is the first time I have ever been in the store! I took my friend with me and I purchased some old fashioned and a blueberry scone is what I think she had! My old fashioned were so good I could have ate all 6 but decided to bring some home to hubby! This place was still hoppin at 8am and there were still quite a few doughnut
The donuts are really good if you like donuts on the fluffier side. The flavor of dough and frostings are good. Like all donuts, they are sweet, but the glazed is well balanced.
Donuts are amazing & fresh!!! I go by at 4am after work and get half dozen a few times a month!
Best doughnuts around hands down. Super soft and flavorful especially if you get it warm. I get why they run out so quick now. If you're not into a more sweet doughnut and used to store bought, you won't like these. Maple bars here are amazing!
Chuck?s Donuts are phenomenal. Easily the best donuts I?ve ever had. Anyone who tries them will always say the same. No gimmicks with their donuts, just good donuts with great glaze and frostings. Maple bars and apple fritters are my go to?s but all of their donuts are worth a try.
Chuck's is simply delicious! The maple bars are probably the best I've ever had... Ever! By far the best spot to grab your morning motivation! The staff is fast and friendly and do a great job. Definitely make this your next donut destination!
Part of me doesn't want to promote this so I can get donuts when I want ?? The donuts here are awesome! The maple bars are AMAZING!
For years, The Maple bars here were these staple of my sweet tooth in Renton. Best maple bars in the country hands down .
I always envied the donut shops in Oregon because I thought there were only franchised donuts in Washington. Then I found this. Chuck?a donuts is by far the best donut shop in Washington. Family-owned, reasonable pricing, updates and communicates via Facebook or Instagram. Their maple bar is a must-try. I bought my first dozen today for the price of $18. It was an assorted box, hence the high price.
I am a fan! Their maple bars are next to none. Bias or not there are countless reviews telling their story. I am just happy they are back open & making donuts after the accident. Stop by, service is quick and the staff is friendly however they run out of donuts fast - at least the fan favorites...
Really good donuts!! The maple bar frosting is the perfect balance of sweetness and maple flavor. GET THERE EARLY! The donuts go fast!
Absolutely LOVE their maple bars. The whipped maple topping, incredible. We had a donut-off at our work between them and another local fav. Hands down, Chuck's won. Even staff who haven't had/like maple bars were very pleased. BONUS!! They do an online order form. I was able to order the day before and have it ready for pick up on my way into work. Very convenient. The service was friendly and energetic, even for a very early Friday morning. Can't wait to treat our staff to Chuck's in the near future!
Best donuts in the nation. The Maple bars are just incredible, beyond anything you have ever eaten.
The best Donuts ever! Even if you don't stay close to Renton area, the donuts are worth the drive. I always go there at 3 in the morning but every time I find someone waiting in line. A must try for anyone who loves donuts..
The maple long John with bacon is fantastic, 5/5. All the other donuts I've tried from here have been solid, 4/5 on average
Always fresh and absolute best doughnuts in the area. They melt in your mouth! Great selection, just make sure you get there before they run out for the day.
I was looking forward to ?chucks doughnut?. Was very disappointed to find the store had changed owners and product had gone down hill. They were friendly and hope they can turn things around.
Chuck's donuts are so yummy! Always soft and fresh. Never greasy in your mouth. The fritters actually taste like apple. The maple is more of a whipped frosting than a glaze. It is soooo good!
Have tried only their maple bars and they are GOOD!!! A friend got there early in the morning to grab two dozen maple bars for my baby shower. Hadn't tried them before and not a fan of maple bars in general. But these were really good! It was light and fluffy and the whipped maple glaze was not overpowering in flavor or texture. I look forward to trying out their other flavors in the future.
Tried these for the first time today at work and I just had to write a review. They are sooooo good!! I wish they had a store closer to me. They are so soft melts in your mouth. The long caramel looking ones which I finished first is the best one!! Must try if you?re in the area looking for donuts :)
I?ve been on the search for the BEST maple bar in WA and I think I?ve found it. I?ve went to all the other bakeries and they all tasted like grocery store donuts but Chucks was SO GOOD. They taste SO DIFFERENT. The most unique maple bar I?ve ever tried. Had to give service 3 stars because the service was very cold and non welcoming by the woman at the front counter but I somewhat can understand as I?ve worked early shifts and can?t imagine starting work at 2am and the people in the back were working hard. I
Best maple bar with the creamiest maple topping I?ve ever had in my life! The donuts I?ve tried are all classic flavors but they are all on another level. Just elevated somehow with flavor alone. No fancy shapes or colors needed. The Bear claw was loved by a friend which is a big bear paw fan. But, back to the Maple bar ???I literally ?? ?? dream of the ?? maple bars! They are the BEST in Renton for sure!
Make sure you get there early since they run out of doughnuts. Owner seems rude and doesn't appreciate there customers.
Definitely my favorite place for Maple bars. I like the simple setup, the cleanliness is good and the people are kind.
Visited Chuck?s last week and was surprised by the donuts and the customer service. I?ve gone to Chuck?s years ago in the past and decided to visit the other day. I?ve always known them to have above average donuts, but sadly was disappointed. The maple bars I got were just okay. The icing on it was something different, not the typical shiny maple glaze that I?m used to. This maple looked like frosting you?d put on a cupcake. But it tasted okay, just was ?different.? But the service by the shorter Asian wom
Best donut place i've ever been to. They have the best and only place i know of that has maple bars with best tasting topping. I recommend everyone to go here and try the maple bars. I have yet to try other donuts too. It sucks that there is no place like this nearer to my home which is cities north of seattle.
Arguably the best donuts in the region. Especially good are their maple bars which have a super light frosting instead of the regular glaze and are amazing--they're the only maple bars I'll eat. Apple fritters are also great. I don't know what oil they use but their fry is so clean tasting, even if you get a donut that's a bit oily, it's delicious.
Who cares about the atmosphere when you?re at a take out donut place- I mean come on. The whipped frosting maple bars are worth a 30 min extra drive out of the way- I just did it. So good. I blessed some of my ppl as we live more than 1 hour north of here so when I was at least within 30 mins I had to stop They never disappoint.
I was craving donuts and telling my friend for few days. Do you know what I got this morning? Half Dozen Donuts!!! 4 of Maple bars, Apple fritter and Chocolate filled in custard cream. My friend told me, Store Open 3am!!! OMG!!! If you want to get a fresh yummy donuts especially Maple bars, better go to there morning or place a preorder ahead of time to ensure you don't miss out!?free parking.
I enjoyed the large variety, friendly service, and how they rapidly filled the order so I can be on my way to eating doughnuts while they are still warm. I never mind getting up early to go get the best maple bars in the area.
Fantastic maple bars and raised donuts. We LOVE the light but flavorful maple frosting! Keep coming back year after year. Thank you!
This is my first time to visit here. My wife love donuts and she found this place, so we went to on Saturday. We got half dozen of donuts and waiting check out. The counter lady helps us check out. I was not pay attention that moment and she telling me donuts prices. I just insert my card to machine for pay. But here is what happened why I'm writing this review. She add other order from my cost and she knows right after i pay. And she yelling me why you didn't tell me this is not your order. So i said i di
This is the best doughnuts ive tried hands down the texture, taste, and sweetness is all perfect please give this place a try
They whip the frosting for the maple bars. The apple fritters are perfectly crunchy. On Saturday morning they make French crullers that are wonderfully fluffy.
Horrible, horrible service.!!! The asian lady working the counter is extremely rude and unprofessional. She has a very negative demeanor. Her energy comes off like being upset that I came in to even buy donuts. Like shouldn?t you greet your customers with a smile and be welcoming? You would think. Maples bars are the only thing good there. Otherwise, save your time and money and go and support other donut bakeries that would be delighted you came to support. She clearly has no business etiquette.
Their maple bars are what dreams are made of! My 1st time trying 1 was a failed attempt at ?im just going to try half? well? after that 1st half? i had 3 more ?halves? Good luck trying to eat just half ??
I never heard about this place before until a few years ago. Let me tell you They have the best maple bar I ever had since then I be come a regular there I bought 1 or 2 dussen every time it's so good
The best donuts in Renton Highlands. Chucks is a household name for donuts. It?s maintaining the same taste, quality, and tradition of making donuts for many years now. The maple donuts are their signature donuts, and a must try.
My shop receives two dozen maple bars occasionally as a "thank you" gift and these are the best damn maple bars I have ever had in my life. I think they are made from the flesh of Gods. They're amazing. Rating Service and Atmosphere as 3s only bc I have not been there.
Best maple bars around, that whipped buttercream frosting is great. Chocolate bars are good too. Too bad they sell out too quickly, some days everything is gone before 11am, which i suppose is a good thing.
So we drove to Renton yesterday because, according to Google, they had the highest rated donuts near us. And, let me tell you, it's no lie. The donuts are Fluffy and flavorful. The maple icing is to die for. And the people running out are the sweetest people. I highly recommend.
Out of donuts at 11:30am. I was told they won't make more. They only sell what they made in the morning. This place is open till 4pm. So what are going to sell for 4.5hrs??? It's ok. I went to Legendary Donuts instead and oh how I loved their donuts and treats.
Great little family-run shop, fresh donuts if you get there (very) early in the morning.
Awesome donuts!! It doesn't have oily taste. The only issue I have is no name on the donuts for new customers to know what kind it is.
I grew up in Renton and Chucks was always a main staple at our house. Now, the maple bar doesn't taste the same.....it used to be fluffier and whipped. I feel like removed something from the ingredients just to replace it with something cheaper. 25$ for a dozen and it's not even the original recipe. After 40yrs, time to find a new donut shop ??
Hands down, the best maple bar in the country. The whipped topping rather than a glaze is divine. I work 45 minutes outside of Renton, everyone there knows about this place, and they knew about it before I even brought the maple bars in to share. The rest of the donuts are fantastic, but really even a bad donut is still a good donut (they don't have any bad donuts, they're all top notch). I love the place, and wish I could get breakfast here every day without my waistline expanding exponentially, but I unfo
Got there late. At 11:30 still a good selection of different types of donuts. Service was good. Maple bars frosting are excellent. Price for a dozen doughnuts was very reasonable.
This is a wonderful place to get donuts. Their maple bar icing is too good.
Really good donuts! The best maple bars. There's something about the maple glaze that's better then most. Only down side is the woman who seems to always serve early mornings won't even smile or say hi, and that's every time I've gone in. I don't go here often because she acts like she couldn't care any less that I'm there.
Maple bar heaven! I read other reviews and decided to order ahead through their form submission on Instagram and also pay in cash. This made pickup much faster, easier and cheaper! I placed the order on Monday for pickup at 6:00am Friday. I ended up getting to Chuck's around 6:20 and there were only a few people in line. I am glad I ordered ahead so I didn't risk not getting the donuts I wanted. However, it seemed all flavors were still available at this time. These are the best and definitely worth the ext
Best doughnuts this side of the mountain. I started eating these donuts a few years back when they were brought to a work function. The donuts were so good. I came back for weeks before making myself sick of them. Since then, I?ve been traveling from West Seattle to Renton just for these donuts.
Best maple bars around. I went 2 years living in a country that had donuts, but no maple bars. I've loved maple bars ever since coming back to the states, and this was a whole new level. When I take these to work, people try the maple bars and are converted. Staff have always been friendly, even at 6 am :)
Awesome Donuts. Still will drive down from Snohomish to get the Delicious Maple Bars! Order online or you risk not getting any (I drove down on a weekday and by 10:20am they were down to just a few donuts, and NO maple bars)!!
Excellent donuts as many already know. They beat everyone hands down and I have been all over the country. The maple bar is their best seller and they hardly ever run out. They have donuts ready when you get there and do not necessarily run out as fast as others do. If this donut spot was closer in Seattle. They would kill all competition.
Got here late, around 1 pm. There was only a few doughnuts left. Tried the chocolate bar, bear claws and raspberry filled doughnut. ?? one of the best doughnuts ive ever had, frosting is whipped and tasted delicious. Dough itself is nice and fluffy, and i could not taste the deep fryer oil in the dough so thats a huge plus. Pretty simple doughnuts but done well. Will be back when i am in the area to hopefully get a maple bar next time before they sell out
Used to walk down to this donut shop with my friends at 3-4am and get maple bars every weekend. Chucks donuts was always hands down our favorite donut shop especially the maple bars. Haven't been here in quite some time but recently stopped by and the quality has not changed, it is just as good as it used to be.
How can you go wrong with Chuck?s donuts? They?re fantastic!
Really disappointed. We went last week at 1:55pm because Google said they closed at 4pm. They actually close at 2 pm so I did do an edit on Google to correct the hours. We were greeted rudly with "all we have left 7s maple bars." We asked some questions because we were looking for some donuts for an upcoming event. No answers were given. We did get one maple bar. I asked about cake donuts and was given no answers just that they didn't have any. Thanks, I already knew that. Went back today at 10 am and they
Out of donuts at 9:15am this morning on a Thursday. That?s ridiculous. At least have a website where you can post that you?re closed so people don?t waste their morning driving here. They have a facebook and instagram page but they don?t update them. What a waste of time.
I?ve been coming here for 15 years and they have been AMAZING this whole entire time! I?ve tried other donuts they sell and they are absolutely delicious, but the maple bars are out of this world. So many times I?ve brought people a box of maple bars and they open the box and say ?why only maples??, but then they take a bite and they?re in heaven and they understand. Chuck?s maple bars are truly the only food you need in this world! You don?t like maple bars, you say? Neither do I! But Chuck?s makes them en
Best Donuts ever! Great flavor and so light.
Got here about 15 minutes before closing one day and they were closed early because they ran out of donuts so I made sure to come here earlier next time. Got a dozen (variety) and they didn't disappoint. Maple bars, lemon-filled, raspberry-filled, and Bavarian creme-filled. All very good and validated the claim of Renton's best donuts. The staff is also very friendly and the line moved along pretty quickly. We'll be back again soon.
Maple & chocolate bars are to die for!! The real stars of the show- I wouldn?t bother with much else to be honest (the Apple fritter I didn?t care for too much).
Favorite doughnut shop!
