Christy's donuts in El Cajon has the best donuts. They don't have a shiny new store like that other place in Santee, but they have better tasting donuts the owner and his family run the shop and they are so very nice. Instead of cakes, we've started treating ourselves to Christy's donuts. ?? Delicious!
No frills, nothing fancy, nothing trendy. This is as classic of a donut shop as it gets. Fresh donuts in all the standard varieties. This isn?t the place you go to try crazy donuts with a bunch of toppings. You go here to get good quality, standard donuts.
One of the best donuts shop in the city and it?s always fresh made, delicious taste with a very good price that you can not beat it I love this place will go back and I will recommend it to everyone
Edit: 10/10/2024 I recently ate these again a few months ago and the flavor of the yeast donuts is different and very unpleasant. The cake donuts, buttermilk, old fashion, and other nonyeast donuts are good. I would only eat those. I retry them sometimes by getting a day old box(8$) and it just doesn't hit. :( Lowered my rating from 5 to 3. Original review: Really good donuts at the price. The cheapest I've seen so far. Second to my regular donut place. The flavor of chocolate cake donut was tetchy but o
One of the original Ted Ngoy Christy?s! Outstanding food and service. Friendly staff greet regulars by name. Great variety of classic donuts and unique items. Cake, yeast raised, buttermilk and old fashioned were perfect, and orange frosted cruller was something I?d never seen before. Same for the fruit burritos, which were also tasty. Decent prices as well. 6 donuts and 2 fruit burritos were less than $12. Easy parking and fast service. Worth a trip from anywhere in San Diego.
Friendly and fast service! I tried the apple fritter and the Old Fashioned and my opinion is - skip the apple fritter and DEFINITELY try the Old Fashioned. While I was trying to decide, another customer came in and said I had to try the OF so I asked the store worker to please give me one. Oh my. It was crispy on the outside but SO FLUFFY and soft inside! Definitely worth a visit to try one!
This Place Has Great Customer Service Love their Donuts... They Always Have A Large Selection Of donuts With Quality Ingredients. I recommend this place if you want a good Donut . Oh and also lots of parking space.
The donuts are the best so fresh and tasty, you have to check them out, a friend told me to I'm glad I did everyone in my meeting loved them.
Fantastic service! Delicious donuts. She even gave me a plain donut after I noticed them after having already paid!
Good donuts, small little place .. but cashier lady with a big attitude problem.
Old school donut shop. Chocolate chocolate are pretty good. Dozen donuts reasonably priced. Paid $13 and got three cake donuts for free. . Went at 7 at night and the case was loaded.
Mom and pop store, great selection and great taste. Reminds me of being a kid and going to the doughnut ?? shop with friends and family.
I have been coming here since about 1987 when my dad used fo take us before he dropped us at school and went to work. If we got up good at 5am and got dressed and ready on time, he would bring us here or to Aunt Emma's restaurant further down the road. I used to always get the same thing, it's like a tortilla with fruit and a sugar type frosting on it. I also love the maple bars. So good. One thing that i always wonder is why they leave the doors propped open all night long. Weird.
I always drive by this place but never been. Finally today i was craving a donut, and went in. The attendant (guessing the owner) was so attentive and sweet. Very nice lady. The donuts were huge! (Compared to your big chain competitors). My card was having a bit of trouble at payment time. One of the regulars offered to pay for my donuts and you could tell they loved her and this donut shop(last minute my card went through). It was very sweet and I felt the love they had for this place. It was affordable an
I've been coming here since 1994. Always the best donuts and fresh. They have a very unique bear claw, apple filling its so good, a must try..and the buttermilk and old fashions are amazing.
So good I love how soft the yummy fresh doughnuts are especially first thing in early morning ?? sugar twists are my favorite!!!?? Ham and cheese croissant is awesome too!!!
Had a bit of an attitude ,also just donuts weren?t great
It?s a donut shop and that?s the atmosphere. We got a half dozen donuts every one of them were perfect. We got 2 apple fritters and they were so flavorful and not overly greasy. Sorry no pictures, they were eaten to fast.
They have awesome doughnuts. My favorite are the old fashioned glazed.
Love this place donuts are always so fresh!
10 bucks got me a big o box
She?s an icon, she?s a legend, and she is the moment. We?ve been enjoying their donuts for decades. I hope they never close.
Great donuts. Fresh and favorites.
Sorry but the donuts were not fresh some selections don?t even taste like dough or even have any flavors to it. The oil which they use is not up to the standard cooking oil. Because it smells really strong and old. Two old couples with no customer service experience and she was in a hurry although we were the only ones there, asking my 5 year old to pick quicker. After rating one donut I asked her nicely what brand oil do you use. She replied ?I don?t know they say it?s palm oil?. We love a fresh dozen of
My first time going there and while getting a dozen donuts. I saw a couple flies just crawling on the donuts. I made sure I didn't get the donuts where the flies are at. I was so disappointed the donuts tasted weird. It tasted like old oil and didn't taste fresh. It was nice she gave me three extra donuts. Very friendly lady and great service. We ate just two donuts and thrashed the rest. Never again going there.
The lady getting my donuts was so rude ???? I asked for a dozen glazed donut holes (which she gave me no problem) and a dozen regular. First of all the donuts taste like used charcoal. Second, I ordered maybe 4-5 donuts for the box and asked how many I had left and she said "Too many. Hurry up" and I said what? and she repeated herself while gesturing to speed it up, meanwhile I thought I was being quick because I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. I was so taken aback that I almost left but I really wa
Donuts were great and delicious. However, 1 star off because their price board on the wall does not have accurate prices for their donuts. When questioned about these bogus numbers, the reply was that some of the numbers fell off and they couldn't retrieve them. Well, there's a counter below the price board so the wayward digits would've just fell down there and they couldn't be bothered to get the numbers and reattach them? Unacceptable answer in my book and one wonders what else they skip doing because
Hello my dears. Yes I gave Christy 4 stars. Very delicious doughnuts. A bit pricey. For the price you can go to the gourmet doughnut shop. But all in. All very good and she's very nice. Good coffee as well
Donuts are good anytime. My only problem is that I remember when donuts were $5.00 doz. Oh thats a baker's doz. Have a good donut day. DC.
Decent donuts although they have a problem with separating donuts into additional bags they try to stuff them all in one bag. So if you don't want powdered donut on your chocolate donuts then be prepared for attitude if you ask for another bag
I'm been going to Christy's Donuts since the place opened. Now I'm addicted to buttermilk glaze and buttermilk blueberry'.The best thing about Christy's is to the husband and wife team the owners hard-working family work all day all night every day just to make us Donuts. How cool is that?
They were in the process of making more donuts so the selection was small. The blueberry buttermilk donut was amazing!!! Wasn't quite worth the crappy piss poor attitude we got from the worker. We weren't the only ones who got snapped at and I'm sure we won't be the last. She needs to work on her people skills big time. Other than that not much else to report, it was just another donut shop. Also I found out that they say they are the only ones who make the blueberry buttermilk donuts but they aren't.
Great donuts at a reasonable price. The staff was very friendly. Please note that they have asked all patrons to wear face coverings, although it didn't look as though it was strictly enforced.
We're not a huge donut family, but every time we come here I love it! Easy to get to, great vibe, ALWAYS fresh donuts, awesome breakfast croissants. Oh yeah, the prices are unbelievable too
Great tasting donuts and awesome price. This family works hard and makes a quality donut. If you have ever been in the Phoenix area and had donuts at Bosas then you will understand the quality of this place. This is my donut shop when I visit El Cajon!
Has been owner operated for over 30 years. They continue to work hard to make the tastiest quality donuts in town. Buy a dozen somewhere else and then the same dozen here... You will definately notice a weight difference, and then take a bite of a Bear Claw... Yep, that's real apple filling!! Oh my ??
Completely rude...... Wouldn't give me a cinnamon roll when I'm looking straight at one in the display case. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.........
Love this donut place. But I've noticed in the last six months that the donuts taste like the machines haven't been cleaned. Not all the donuts just certain kinds. Super bummer because this used to be My hands down fave
Delicious donuts. They do not turn hard the next day.
Personally I didn't like their donuts. All made fresh but just a bit too sweet and sickly for my taste buds.
Best donuts in el cajon. The maple bar sliced open and stuffed with whip cream is one of the best things in earth. And the no nonesense lady behind the counter is a hoot
I Love Donuts ?????? When I'm staying with my parents, I always sneak off to Christy's Donuts for some frosted peanut dipped sweets. Super yummy.
Good quality donuts at a reasonable price. They have a good selection of donuts at all hours if the day. Some places run out of donuts, but not Christy's! This is the place to go in El Cajon
Very rude & scary- looking woman who was extremely disrespectful to our kids (who practice THEIR manners ). Very impatient and terrible attitude. Plus second time in a row their selection was sparse . Won?t go back , this is final straw after going there for very long time . There are other donut spots just as good afterall
Worst doughnuts ever , they taste like baking soda
Worst donut shop in East county older Asian lady has an attitude I ran 3 credit cards that had over $1000 credit limit for some reason it didn't go through on her end she started telling the customers behind me that why I come with no money so I went to ATM next door Took money out paid her & confronted her that she shouldn't be rude to customers like that she said she didn't get mad I won't come back here again
Great tasty doughnuts. My kids love them and it's a good local shop. Please Support your local small business, help them keep our cities alive.
Low prices, good selection, and of course delicious donuts. Has cozy dining area and decent parking. Stop by and get a dozen to go or sit and enjoy a donut all to yourself. Release your inner Homer Simpson.
They have been around for years. Amazingly good donuts. Support our locals.fresh everyday donuts. Don't for get your coffee...
One of the better donut shops in San Diego they always are fresh and the service is great. Its a hidden gem in a nasty little strip mall. Dont forget to tip them its that good.
Don't waste your money on the muffins... i counted 3 blueberries inside the muffin. The top is sprinkled with them like the insides going to be sweet and juicy, BUT NO! They have no favor and taste like they are days old.
Went in today 7-30-21 and asked for the two front choices of an Apple fritter and a bear claw. I know this sounds petty but heck they cost like 2.50 a pop so naturally I wanted the two in front, they were by far the biggest choices. Now let me say there is a lady there 9 times out of 10. But there was a older man there, when I asked for the two in front he smaked his lips made a ?pssshaw sound and said ?Dey ald da same? ?I not do dat to hard? I told him they were different and to come look but he would not
I Dont know how the rating is where it is. This place is always very rude to customers, they act as if you spending your money there annoys them, and instantly asking anything Else after every single choice u make whether ur two dozen or two donuts drives me nutty. There are many places that appreciate quality customers and I testify that this isn't one of them.
This is my favorite donut shop!!!! And I have 56 years of experience here LOL They are open 24 hours so you can get their yummy donut any time you get that nagging sweet tooth. One of the ways I rate a donut shop is by the Apple fritters and bear claws. If the place has those little puffy looking apple fritter I won't even bother. Chirsty's donuts have the best apple fritters, bear claws, raspberry burritos, actually all of their donuts are really good oh and those those little French Circle things are OMG
Family owned, clean, excellent gathering place with friends. Beautiful array of donuts and pastries. Extra donuts when you buy a dozen. Outdoor seating and inside as well.
The spot for early morning donuts! $9 for a dozen mixed, and you get 3 free cake donuts as a bonus. Can't beat that! Fast and friendly service too. My go-to spot.
We stopped by there in the afternoon. The assortment of donuts was very limited. All the tables had their chairs stacked on them.
wow..... is all i can say. the donuts are pretty good but the customer service is horrible. the woman that works there barely speaks english and shouts at you to hurry. i knew what i wanted already before i went in so it wasnt like i was lagging or anything. i bought a half dozen in which she shoved into a paper bag smashing the donuts on each other. when she gave me the total she stumbled for fiffthy out of her mouth in broken english with a heavy accent. i politely said sorry what? she looked up repeated
I go here frequently to get donuts for my team at work, good friendly service, good prices and good tasting donuts, my team always enjoy them.
Hadn't been there in 15 years but I was in the area so I stopped in. I won't wait so long next time. Still the same family running the place. Great to see it still there.
The donuts are light and fluffy the service however was very good
Always has fresh doughnuts. Sometimes the service is abrupt and not very friendly. The doughnuts are always great.
Employees talked so loud to each other? The parking lot was trashed with napkins and paper bags.
This is hands down the best donut shop in ElCajon. Donuts are always fresh and delicious,no matter what time of day and they are reasonably priced.
Cute place and delicious donuts! Me, my grandfather and my brother go here at least once a week for some donuts and a drink.
Good donuts the only problem I have with it is I bought 6 donuts and it costed 9 dollars
Great donuts, just check your order before you leave so they don't give you the wrong one.
Best donuts in East County but rude employees! But to there donuts make u forget about the customer service. That's the only place I patronize where the product keeps u coming back!
Friendly staff and a good selection of donuts that taste really good
Christie's is a great Donut, always so fresh... these guys have been doing it a long time and they sure know how to make them good - yummy!
Had very good Donuts am I fry fresh but I live in Idaho and there's not too many of them around
I just can't seem to go by this donut shop without stopping by to partake in the delicious goods. Go a head and try. I'll bet you will see for yourself how magnetic those scrumbolious donuts call to you.
Awesome donuts. I like driving far for something awesome to eat I the morning. I lenjoy the long rides in the morning. This place is worth driving 22 mins too. Thanks
The donuts were so good in this place I recommend that you guys come on down and grab a dozen dounuts to enjoy with a coffee or cup oj yum???
Went to het the plain cake donuts they were under cooked, and the store was very unkempt and looked dirty, when I finished the donuts I had diarrhea. Will not visit this donut place.again. Lady that helped.me wasn't very friendly
Absolutely love this donut shop I've been coming here since I was a kid excellent prices very friendly employees and best donuts in town
Love there donuts and the 3 free ones when you order a dozen
It always very yummy , always stop here and get donuts when I'm close by .. Best Donuts in El Cajon CA
They were open the donuts were bomb the people's were friendly you should go
Always awesome. Open 24 hours, love that. In and out no non-sense kind of biz. Love it, love everything about it. "Back in the day" kind of vibe to the place.
Mom and Pop operation. Good hard working couple. Very Good Donuts at a Good Price. Buy a dozen and get 3 free.
Donuts are always fresh and we always enjoy their donuts. Super soft but not like biting into air
Best donuts is the world. Creamy texture and flavor. I've been coming here for 35 years and it's GREAT!
Donuts were so fresh I ordered a box of donuts and they gave me three free that was truly an awesome blessing
Donuts are incredible but worker not friendly at all!
Out mostly all donuts. A business should always have product available. Made the drive all the way for nothing
Every kind of Donuts, all fresh, & when you buy a dozen, they give you a couple extra, never crowded, & yummy.
Cuz their raspberry filled donuts are the $sit. We always stop on our way back from Sycuan. It helps to ease the blow ??
