The food was good! This place felt like walking into a small town movie. The staff was super kind!

Camping at KOA we searched donuts near us. Chef Shells came up and we took the drive. Very quaint diner tucked in to a busy little area near the community college campus. Upon entering. Regulars were eating and talking and enjoy company. We came for donuts and we're not disappointed. Quickly served. Very pleasantly greeted. And we ate every last one of them. :) We will be back for sure !!

We come here often because the staff is friendly and the food is usually great. But today?s order missed the mark. We got our usual ?hashbash? to go, and it felt like they left the ?bash? out entirely. I counted maybe three tiny cubes of corned beef buried in a pile of potatoes. Nearly $11 for what amounted to two eggs and a box of bland carbs with a corned beef afterthought. If this was our first visit, we wouldn?t come back. Disappointed.

Employees were fast, efficient, helpful, friendly. They have a great system to move even larger crowds through. They have the. Best. Apple. Fritters. So many other places undercook their fritters. Chef Shell's cooks them until parts are a little crispy. So good.

My favorite breakfast spot in Port Huron! Staff are friendly and kind. The donuts are amazing for any occasion! My personal favorite on the menu is the breakfast burrito, so good!

We had Chef Shells catering and it was amazing! Every employee that we interacted with was so kind and professional. I highly recommend the pulled pork, and the BBQ sauce was the best! Everyone at the gathering was raving about the food!

First timer here! Four of us had excellent breakfast! We also took home a couple donuts. Good service and reasonable prices are really hard to find-Chef Shell's is a triple hit. Good food, service and prices!

Possibly the only place open early for breakfast! Most places in downtown Port Huron don't open until 9:00 and I was pleasantly surprised that chef shells was open earlier. The restaurant has an old diner feel with a decent selection for breakfast including omelets, hash browns, oatmeal, bagels, eggs, meat, and even french toast (which is what I had). Our server was very friendly and everything came to our table as ordered. A very pleasant experience!

I am so happy we happened upon this gem of a restaurant. Our entire small group were happily impressed with deliciousness. I wish I'd taken this pic before I ate some of it. Fish n Chips...yum!

I have been avoiding this place because the staff is always so impatient with my kids when they are picking donuts. We decided to give them another try because we'd heard they fired all their staff. We thought maybe the bad eggs were removed. We were wrong. The staff member was very impatient with my kids as they were trying to pick a donut. Eye rolling, annoyed sighs, etc. Seems the problem is deeper. We will not be returning.

I ordered corned beef hash. It was excellent! Big chick's of actual corned beef and quartered little red potatoes with onions. Heaven. There was even a touch of green on my eggs (parsley). However, the order came with a side of hash browns. It felt like ordering a side of fries with your steak and potato - redundant and out of place. Nice restaurant off the beaten path. The food tastes pretty good. Had corned beef hash and it was not the canned stuff like a lot of places, it was large chunks of potato and corned beef.

Their guest service is exceptional! The staff goes up and above to provide the very best customer experience. If something isn?t perfect, they do everything possible to make it perfect. Couldn?t ask for more. Btw they have the best donuts in town!!

The fresh paczkis don't last too long as they are so delicious! It is suggested that you are to pre-order them if you want to make sure that you get them on Fat Tuesday. I have to admit that it was the best paczki that I ever had. Next year I am definitely pre-ordering me a dozen so I can share the love! I am also going to have to test their doughnuts since I found out that they make those fresh too.

I'm always skeptical when ordering coffee outside my own kitchen, but the Heath Specialty Coffee I had from here today definitely made up for every bad coffee I've ever gotten anywhere else. No seriously, I've been coming here for the delicious donuts many times over the years and can't believe I waited this long to try the coffee!!

Update, just left there, so disappointed, soup wasn't hot, sandwich had a burnt after taste and wait staff was not very attentive, and slow. It's a shame to see this place that we loved going change to a place I won't go back to anytime soon.

Always friendly staff. I had a meat lover's omelette on my last visit. Delicious. It was a Saturday afternoon, and they were OUT of donuts, so you know they're good.

I never ate there before. First time ever and I wanted to try the biscuits and gravy. The waitress took my order and 4 minutes later said sry we have no biscuits. So I got 2 dozen of donuts and they were delicious.

First time ordering; got delivery. Prompt, warm food, with free delivery. Didn?t meet the expectations of what I?ve heard about them though? Ordered the melt sandwich which looked great but was seriously lacking sauce so I don?t even know what their signature sauce taste like. I also got the potato salad which has a great tasting sauce my potatoes were just a little too Al dente for me. Donuts never disappoint from there though. Ever.

A grand selection of huge donuts and eclairs at this place. I do not like cake donuts, but locals insisted I try a piece and these are the best cake donuts I've ever tasted. The dough on the cake donuts is so most and not as grainy as others. The eclairs looked so tempting but I did not have one. I had a sugar and cinnamon sprinkle coated bear claw. It went great with my latte.

I ordered a taco salad with chicken on it from DoorDash. It cost me 25$! The chicken was shredded and there was hardly any chicken on it, It was bagged basically bagged salad with a scoop of chicken on it from the grocery store. The salad was ridiculously small for the price. It also came with a very small container of ranch that wouldn?t even cover the salad,a very small container of salsa, very small container of sour cream and dollar store nacho chips were on top of the salad, so they were soggy. total

Chef Shells just catered my wedding in Port Sanilac on June 24, 2023. The food itself was decent, but nothing to rave about. However, the food and staff were an hour late for dinner and when I had my maid of honor call to see where they were, she had to call 15+ times to get someone to answer. I was highly disappointed in the lack of professional respect. Customers should be informed not to have the waitress assume that you have been there before even after asking their preference on soup Sandwich and menu choices. I understand that local businesses are struggling but so are local people.

We recently worked with Chef shells for our son's wedding. The food was amazing and the servers were professional friendly and a pleasure to work with! We would highly recommend Chef shells thank you for doing such a great job servers! Shari

Had the biscuit with sausage gravy. It is advertised as being "Southern" style, but it falls a little short of this. As a guy who hails from Charleston, SC...it isn't right to put what tastes like nutmeg or allspice in the gravy. If anything, please add pepper or some such spice. The nutmeg and/or allspice makes the gravy taste like it is mostly nut based. Overall, all the other food I've had from this restaurant has been awesome.

Every bite leaves you wanting more, the staff is friendly, prices are very fair and the restaurant is cozy. And not to mention, the doughnut bar is fabulous!

Placed an order for delivery. We had a little mix up. I called and the extremely nice lady didnt hesitate to make the situation right. I really appreciate restaurant that care about their customers. My office orders lunch from here every day! Every.single.day. Literally everything is a 10/10 from here. Especially the monte Cristo and the Turkey club croissant. The fruit cup and dip is what hooked me!

Great Doughnuts and food! Staff is friendly and prices are very reasonable. The location is cozy and is the street was recently converted from an old one way to a two way making it much easier to access. New parking was also added. Great place to visit in downtown Port Huron.

We Love their breakfast. ( I want it All) two eggs, two bacon, hash browns & toast + coffee. We had lunch yesterday soup & croissant both delicious. Hands down the BEST DONUTS in the State of Michigan.

We drive 45 miles to eat breakfast here. The omelets are delicious and cooked to perfection. The baked goods are fantastic. We love this place and it's often our first stop on a Thumb Pub Cruse.

Hands down one of the best kept secrets in Port Huron. Amazing donuts, great food and and a friendly staff make it a winner. Just with it could seat more folks as when it is busy, well let's say, it is a long wait. Not faulting them, just wish they could sit more. Definitely a place to go for breakfast and lunch.

The best homemade soups you will ever have! Fantastic sandwiches. Their food is all around wonderful! Great people and service! I highly recommend eating at Chef Shells!!! Had them cater for our daughter?s first birthday. Prices were reasonable, service was out of this world, and most importantly, the food was exceptional! We ordered some trays but also had the pulled pork and the roasted chicken. Chicken can be easy to mess up and become dry but NOT THEIRS so tender. We had a ton of compliments. The food is okay,the service is standard for a small restaurant. I feel that everything is a little too close together,I was squeezing past other tables. The servers were nice,but a small bit under-educated about how to cook eggs. In a group setting service seems a bit rushed by staff,pushy when we asked for more time. Overall a good experience,but there are much better places nearby to eat out.

Go in on a saturday for a dozen donuts, they had 3 kinds made. Not even a whole shelf full. I went in at 12:30 they don't close till 2pm. You would think if they advertise "best donuts in town" they would actually have some made.

Always love it. The soups are spectacular and warm on a cold day in Port Huron. Haven't had a bad sandwich there yet. I visit my parents weekly, as I live in Northville, and we go about twice a month. We try to visit all the local restaurants, but land up here the most often.

I used door dash to place a lunch order and Door dash did great. Chef shells egg salad sandwich was runny and soggy . I asked for just the croissant but the put lettuce on it, which was not wanted. I figured they just may have had a bad batch so I ordered again, but this time I ordered the Turkey club with no tomato and extra mayo. The sandwich came with tomato and no extra mayo. Cute little diner. Everything was quality including the napkins. Dressing was homemade and amazing. Their baked good all looked good and fresh but I didn?t get a chance to try. Also had dressings to take home by the bottle. Definitely will be back!

Hands down the best donuts around. I grew up in Genesee County which is Donna's Donuts territory and Chef Shell's is a cut above. The breakfast sandwiches and muffins are also exceptional. Definitely a Bluewater Area gem that deserves your business!

I have never written a bad review on anything and I really don't know where to start. I was not impressed... They catered my 30th class reunion. We paid $35 per person. I'm guessing we paid for the Port Huron Yacht Club, but I honestly don't know what we paid for. My wife and I arrived 10 minutes after the reunion started. Talked for about 10 minutes then went to grab some food. The cheese tray already looked like the cheese had been out for hours. The veggie tray already looked picked over, but sadly

Usually a great meal and lots of it. However, one time I showed up late Sunday before closing for brunch and was served hash that was not fresh. Hopefully that was one time only. I'll go back again because the food is, with that exception, superb.

Home cooking, great bakery only open for breakfast &lunch, worth a visit to this cozy restaurant. They do amazing catering as well. It's our "go to" breakfast or lunch place.

Had the best breakfast sandwich of my entire life here! It's a bit weird to find - it's off the parking lot behind the buildings on Main St. Definitely my favorite breakfast place in all of Port Huron!

Ordered a California BLT, for $10 I got a quarter of one slice of tomato on each half of the sandwich and some brown spread that I hope was avacado. Please do better! Love your egg salad.

Chef Shell's catered our casual outdoor wedding reception for 75 ppl and did a fabulous job! The staff arrived early, and they took care of absolutely everything! I was too busy visiting with family and friends to get pictures, but our guests raved about the perfectly cooked chicken and scalloped potatoes, the tasty bbq pulled pork, and the fresh salads and sides. So happy we went with them, and we would definitely choose them again!

Amazing breakfast and lunch menu! The pulled pork is the best around and the soups are all made from scratch and delicious! Also make sure to grab one of the "Blue Waters Best" doughnut for dessert!

My pulled pork quesadilla was delicious. The waitress was friendly and great! Unfortunately, my wife's Michigan Cherry Chicken salad wasn't so good. The chicken was dry and she didn't care for the vinagrette dressing. Making it a "3 star" experience was my personal pet peeve of charging an extra $1 each for an extra small bit of salsa and different dressing without even mentioning the upcharge.

Food was delicious, menu had so many good sounding options it was hard to choose. Service was a little slow, but the restaurant was packed, so it was understandable.

Had my sisters bridal shower catered from Chef Shells. Amazing service from start to finish. Salad portions are larger than we had expected! The delivery guy was on time, professional and quick unloading. Will definitely come to them again for any future gatherings!

I go there once a week u cam smell the doughnuts from several blocks. Always fresh. I'd give. It 10 stars if it allowed. I highly recommended the snickers doughnut plus the different jelly fills cherry lemon blueberry raspberry and strawberry.

Insane amount of great food. I had the bbq pulled pork quesadilla which is a big taco filled with about a pound of delicious bbq pulled pork (duh). Could not finish it. I bet 95% of people can't finish it haha. I had most every sandwiches and tried all their donuts over the years. You can't go wrong with anything there. Great lunch place, highly recommended. I did not care for the decoration of the place but I was not there for the wallpaper.

Donuts can be great but never make enough good ones so if you go after 9 then you can chose from plain and nuts. Happens consistently and is annoying.

Told them about an allergy and wasn't told they couldn't accommodate until food was delivered and did not offer to replace it. Staff was rude on the phone in top of it. Corn beef hash isn't hash its burnt corn beef with dry potato chunks and giant chunks of onion. Eggs undercooked and slimy. Just awful.

Better get there early for donuts! And our apple fritters were lousy. Meijers are way better. I won't return anytime soon.

Chef Shells did an absolutely fantastic job on what could have been their busiest day of the year. I preordered two dozen paczki, thinking I might not get any otherwise. I walked in earlier than my order time thinking there would be a line. The paczki were stack floor ceiling and they had me in and out in no time. Not to mention they tasted really good. Way to go Chef Shells.

Wife and I walked in, sat down, waited 25 minutes, waitresses just kept walking by, no acknowledgement. They did have a large crowd of seniors in the middle of the restaurant, however, they already ALL had their food from the time that we entered... Just sat there and watched everyone else eat. So we got up and left and had a wonderful meal at the Lynnwood bar... A.Y.C.E Walleye for ten bucks on Friday. Sorry that you guys blew it, but thank you...

Thank you Mark and Shell for catering an important celebration for our daughter and future son-in-law! Everyone enjoyed the party and commented about the good food! Thanks to all your personal help, Bill and I were able to relax and enjoy our guests. :)

2 slices of corned beef when I ordered a stacked Ruben. Maybe they were running short on meet lol. For $10 though I could have went to Arby?s and got 3 sandwiches.
