California Donuts

California Donuts

Reviews Summary

California Donuts is a popular 24/7 spot in LA, known for creative, Instagram-worthy donuts with unique flavors like maple bacon and fruity pebbles. Many praise their fluffy texture and balanced sweetness, though some find them overpriced or inconsistent in quality. Custom orders occasionally disappoint. Parking is challenging, and service can be hit-or-miss. While most love the novelty and taste, a few criticize dryness or fondant-heavy designs. Overall, it's a must-visit for donut enthusiasts despite minor drawbacks.

Super disappointed. I have been eating their ham and cheese croissants for over ten years. They definitely changed the cheese in it. It doesn't melt. It's a chunky cheese with a different taste. This was my favorite ham and cheese spot of all time. I am sad. It is nasty now. Why did you guys change the cheese !? :(

It had been quite a while since I?ve been here for donuts and I was pleased the place remains excellent. We stopped by early morning, around 7am & ordered a half dozen donuts. The panda donut was as delicious as I remembered, so happy I stopped by after being away from Los Angeles too long. The horchata donut was also delicious!

Open late (and sometimes your only reason to get out of bed), this little 24/7 donut shop in Koreatown is legendary for a reason. Whether you?re craving something classic, colorful, or completely chaotic in the best way ? they?ve got it. ? The Donuts: Let?s be honest. You don?t just eat California Donuts ? you celebrate them. ? The Panda donut? Iconic. Fluffy, fun, Instagram gold. ? The Fruity Pebbles donut? A nostalgia bomb in your mouth. ? The Maple Bacon? It doesn?t just slap ? it full-on high-fives yo

I love this place. I been coming here 10 years now. Whenever I?m around this part of town I try to cruise by for a donut for my husband and I. I love the sausage croissants as well. My favorite donut is either the m? n m or the Cinnamon Toast Crunch. If you can find the parking to come here it?s worth it. Little expensive, especially for donuts. But every now and then a sweet treat is good for the soul.

There are two different California Donut shops. This is the one where they have the cute designs on the donuts. Donuts are good. Nice for a special treat for a special someone or occasion. Nice donut shop to check out if you?re visiting Los Angeles.

The donuts are creative & delicious but the idea that these overpriced donuts should be put in a basic donut bag is ridiculous. I drove 20 miles to get a donut from this place only to get back home & end up with a donut that has a good percentage of the icing on the bag. It?s a good thing I just got a simple maple donut cause had this happen with one of the fancy donuts I would have drove back & raised hell. To the staff & management of this business, please use your brain when you think about packing donut

Had my first ?California Donuts? experience. I think its cool that they are open 24/7 so late night donut runs can be a thing. The donuts themselves were a good size and tasty.

Love coming here. The service is always quick, although when it gets busy, there is a long line. I try to walk during busy times since the parking lot is small and it can get a big chaotic. Other than that, this is my favorite spot to go to when I want a quick coffee and sweet treat. They're Swissh Cheese Croissants are AMAZING. The cheese they use is so good, so that my typical order.

The worst coffee I?ve ever had. Rude and clueless staff. I asked for a proper Americano, and they gave me brown water. I politely told them it was poor quality and asked for a remake. These idiots didn?t do anything and started arguing instead. The donuts are actually pretty good, BUT the coffee is absolute garbage! The staff clearly aren?t trained to deal with customers ? the service is terrible.

The cutest donuts for any party or event. We got a box of pastel Easter donuts and they were so cute and festive. Tasted very good too. Didn't taste all that different than other places but still very good.

My daughter loves Line Friends and recently discovered a donut shop in LA that offered a limited time Line Friends-themed donuts in August. We decided to order a dozen of these fancy and adorable donuts. We sampled every donut and they were incredibly delicious.

I used to live down the street 16 years ago and have only tried this place once. It was not like this 16yrs ago. Came back because my family was in town and wanted to try. I love all the options and flavors. We ended up getting half a dozen because you get $2 off. It cost about $26 for 6 donuts. I only had the unicorn donut which was the cutest desifn. The icing was sweet and it was a thick donut. If you love doughy donuts, then this will be for you. My family loved how fluffy the dough was. It was well

All the donuts I've tried have been moist and flavorful the drinks too. So far the green tea latte & carrot ?? crumble donut with cream cheese was my all time favorite ?????????? I love it when it's April ?????????? Celebrated my son's birthday with some donuts at his party ????

Make no mistake?these are GOOD damn donuts!! The fact they?re open 24 hours a day and always crowded means that the high turnover assured that they?re always fresh. And fresh they are?squishy fresh!! The cake donuts here are not even a close 2nd place to the incredible taste of their raised donut selection which is extensive. The best I?ve had is the twist-log with chocolate topping. They sit in a strip mall with all donuts on display from outside. Two windows to order and no inside facility open to the pub

I love the large selection of donuts at California Donuts. They are freshly baked and oh so delicious. My favorite is the old-fashioned Buttermilk donut. Its mouth watering delicious.

California Donuts is a neighborhood legend. I've been coming here as a kid, since 1979. Damn thats 46 years lol!!! Donuts are still as good as they've always been, the selection expands with new creations. Always got excited as a kid when my dad brought the big pink box of donuts home! Check it out, worth the experience.

Definitely, a must visit if you're in the LA area. Quality ingredients and always very fresh. The parking can be a bit impossible there so just be mindful of that. There is a parking attendant, though. Enjoy!

Decent but Not Amazing California Donuts definitely wins points for creativity?their donuts are colorful, over-the-top, and very Instagram-worthy. However, the taste and texture don?t quite match the appearance. The donuts weren?t as soft or fresh as I expected. Service is hit or miss?some employees were kind and helpful - others had an attitude. Parking can be a major hassle with very limited spots. Overall, it was a so-so experience. Worth stopping if you happen to be driving by but don't go out of your w

Very good donuts. And I love that it's open 24 hours

I've gotta say, I really enjoyed the texture of their yeast donuts! They are airy, fluffy, moist, and most importantly, not overly sweet! Not to mention, so many outstanding flavors to choose from. (Yea, I can't get enough of this place!) Bonus points: they open 24/7. Also, they do customized donuts. Good for events, birthdays, and even engagement proposals. The only con is the parking! It's located in a fairly small plaza, and it is always super packed. But still, it's a must in Ktown. One of the best in L

The plus outweigh the minus! If you like donuts, this is the spoy. The donuts and service are great. I love that they take credit card. You can do half dozen or full dozen each come with a discount. You can choose from the classic style or signature style donuts. I haven't tried the coffee or other drinks, but the quality and taste for your sweet tooth are spot on. The only minus I had was parking. Small lot and street parking is metered on a very busy 3rd Street.

Hands down some of the best 24hr donut spots in LA. Got the variety pack. A little of everything to try. Always a line, so be prepared to wait. Well worth it though. Better than Randy?s. Don?t even think twice about that.

Tasty, flavorful, and delicious donuts. Open 24 hours and there was a line at 11pm! Prices are fabulously low which means we bought more. Parking is not easy, may have to drive around the corner a few times til something opens

I am a big fan of this donut shop. They're Blended drinks such as the Taro in the matcha drinks are delicious. I've never tried the coffee. My favorite donut is a panda donut and the blueberry crumble donut. The dough is very soft, it's amazingly soft. Unfortunately the last two or three times that I visited this location was at the early morning time abou 3 to 4 am. And the same worker continues to just display a careless attitude towards any requests that we make. He never wanted to do any Blended drinks,

Great place for big, moist (IkIk, people had this word) quality donuts! They aren't fried up to the point you can taste oil. Great donuts but not at a great price. For 1 dozen donuts, cost was 33 or 43 dollars. But let me tell you, when I served these to the friends and family, they were gone and all eaten! OPEN 24HRS! View the type of selection they have in my photos. -1 for the price, but they don't deserve the minus so I didn't. I know the price or food is ever increasing so it's expected. Fast service.

This donut shop is open 24/7! The donuts are so cute and tasted so good! We got 6 different flavors to try and honestly I didn't have a bad one. My favorite was the panda donut which I think was a cookie and cream flavor. It was very doughy/cake battery.

You can't beat freshly made donuts and coffee - as well as the varieties and inventive flavors available. Blueberry cake? Strawberry PB & J glazed? Mexican Mocha Latte? Yes, please ??

This place is amazing! We've never had donuts like this before. And if you love cereal and donuts, this is definitely a place for you! Their iced coffee was also delicious. Fair prices for what you get, quick service and friendly staff. Expect to line up/wait as it's usually very busy. Open 24/7 so it's never a bad time to go! Wish we had a location here in Canada!

We got the taro, the samoa, the tigers tail, horchata, Mexican chocolate, croissant donut, crumb, pumpkin cake, lemon berry, cookie butter, cookies and cream, and the black sesame. The tigers tail was the best, it was basically a cinnamon roll that has been turned into a twist bar. The Mexican chocolate was the worst, it was basically a hard chocolate bar on top of a basic yeast doughnut. The lemon berry was the biggest surprise, it was like a blueberry muffin. The cookie butter was the most spot on, it was

Best donuts ever in the whole planet EARTHHHH!!!

Woo! What a fun collection of donuts that are available 24/7!! Such fun creations and classic donuts so you'll find one that resonates with you. Service was friendly and easy to deal with. The parking lot was small, but was lucky enough to snag a spot. I ended up choosing the Twix Donut and it was just what I needed! Twix pieces on top with some extra caramel and chocolate drizzle! Very cute a delish!

2 weeks I got multiple donuts and one of them was the boston cream and they sold me one without filling. I came today and we told the guy that attended us and he charged us for another one. He did not care mainly because it looked like he was high off, and basically did not care. He was a lil skinny dude with a lil mustache

They offer unique donuts. Like Fruity Pebbles (my fave) peanut butter and jelly. They also have cookies and boba. The only downside is them not having benches or chairs.

These donuts smell and taste so good, perfect cloudy fluffy texture. The toppings were great too.

The donuts are good, even their basic glazed donuts are good. The prices are cheap, and if you get their premium donuts they?re still a good value. Big downer, parking is horrible, you better park far or be patient to find close by parking. Or come in the middle of the night, yup, they?re open 24 hours a day.

The best donuts I've ever had. I didn't know it was possible to make them this good. I would fly to LA just for these.

Some of donuts were pretty good, not all of them we tried. I personally don?t like sugary icing, and I liked how they use white chocolates. Matcha flavor was one of the best I?ve tried for donut topping. (It?s often taste like just sugar with green color at other donut shops.) We always get maple bacon bar when we go to donut shop, and this one was the least favorite :-( The bacon had off smell, so we had to toss it. Boston cream was not so good. But we enjoyed others. Buttermilk donut, apple fritter,

I absolutely love donuts and the donuts here do not disappoint! I haven't been here in a while due to the parking situation, but it was not as painful as I had thought. Coming around 6:30, there was a short wait and I was able to get my order quickly! Service was great as well despite to deal with endless customers at this busy location. The parking lot is a bit small and you?ll have to find street parking instead if you?re not lucky. Would definitely come back again to try out the other donuts since they

Omg! Absolutely delicious. The rose donut is so unique and tastes so good. They have unconventional donuts and very delicious. Fast service and friendly

If you?re looking for fluffy, sugary goodness then California Donuts is your spot. I tried their original glazed and cookies & cream donuts. You?re not overwhelmed with sweetness, which is a huge plus for me. The texture of the donut itself was smooth to bite off of. Nice doughy/bready smell inside too. Best part is they?re open 24/7!! :) 10/10

I loved this place, I have heard lines are always long, luckily we didn?t have to make any line. Donuts are fresh and made the same day you can taste its freshness. All the ones we tried were amazing. Prices are a bit high, and they are open 24 hours.

First time trying this donut place. It?s located in a small plaza so I advise parking on the street. Like all donut places, it is super sweet but the difference this shop is unique for is its wide selection of different themed donuts. Classic donuts cost $1.75 while the specialty theme donuts are $2.75 per piece.

Late night craving and just plain wanting to explore the city.....ended up at California Donuts. Please don't let the long line or small parking lot scare you away! Managed to park and the line went seriously fast in part because the staff at California Donuts run it so effectively. We picked up 6 donuts, an assortment. All of them such yum! Fresh, moist and full of flavor! Personally, I loved the Samoa....saved the lemonade one to enjoy tonight. My boyfriend picked one and I wish I remembered the name of i

Their staffs are super efficient! They work so well as a team. They organize the line nicely so they know which customer comes first. OMG!!! They are super adorable & colorful! I wish I can take one of each~ hahaha!! They are very creative how they decorate their donuts. They always have special design for special holidays. Plaza parking lot. Side street residential street parking.

I don't live in LA, but every time I visit, I make a point of visiting this place. I love that it's open 24 hours, and even so, there always seems to be a line. The donuts are delicious. My faves are the Reese's and chocolate strawberry.

Parking is hectic on a Friday night but, it looks this way every night! The donuts are really unique in their flavor and presentations! The wait in line is totally worth it but just make sure to order two of everything...????

Open 24-hours with tons of signature donuts. This place, if it isn?t famous yet, sure feels like it is. Located in a small strip mall of stores, this spot is like a light for those with a sugar craving. Iconic panda donuts, unicorn donuts (this is the most expensive one, at $4.50) and all sorts of other donuts - matcha green tea, classic glazed, bear claws, apple fritters, and that Homer Simpson pink donut. DOH! I was thankful they had birthday candles. After grabbing a box of donuts for a friend?s birthd

Good donut, lots of varieties, friendly staff, decent price. Parking is kinda limited though.

Aside from the long excruciating line that almost wraps around the building and the long walk due to no available parking. The donuts were presented nicely in displayed cases and offered a large colorful selection. Donuts not seen anywhere else , such as Rose flavored with dried petals, peanut butter and jelly filled donuts and much more. Prices are a little high compared to most, however well worth it.

What can I say that hasn't been said? This place has some of the most insane creations, with all your normal favorite donuts as well. Line is organized and they keep it moving. Not too much parking but this is LA, what do you expect? Got some sigma swag for National Donut Day!

These donuts are possibly the most adorable things you will ever see- but they are definitely a sugar overload. These are better to bring to a party, to make a statement on a plate, but you will need to cut them in half or smaller and share them so you can taste all the different flavors. You definitely can't house 3-4 of these on your own, like you could with a regular donut. I got a variety- one with fruity pebbles, some bears encrusted with sugar, and a few others. They also served good coffee and th

Open 24 hours, local favorite, delicious creative donuts, like the horchata, the D?oh nut front the simpsons, cronuts, lucky charm donuts, blueberry lemon crumble, all pillowy, soft, chewy and sweet. At peak times they can get quite busy and a line can develop throughout the strip mall. Parking may be doable if nobody is there but at peak times parking could be really tough. They are on postmates. That might be a good option. I love the look of the place it?s a true hole in the wall.

I wanted to buy a box of donuts for my daughter who lives in CA. This company was personable and kept great communication going during the process. The donuts were received, fresh, beautiful and on time! I couldn?t ask for more! I highly recommend California Donuts!

The best doughnuts I have experienced in a very long time. A little pricey but completely worth every penny.

I was really disappointed when I got their cause they discontinued the mango chamoy donut. I was so looking forward to it darn it. They have such good donuts tho I would go back that rose donut was actually good. That maple bar had a snicker's in it ????I hope they bring that chamoy donut back ! Fresno ca.in the house??

This place had the best apple fritter I think I've had in a long time if ever. I stumbled upon this place after spending a few hours at Wii spa. This location is much better than the other one around the corner. The variety of donuts is awesome spend about $4 per donut which isn't too bad for what you get. And I would absolutely go back for that apple fritter!!

This place rocks! The Panda donut was the absolute BEST!. Kids googled "cool donut shop" and this came up. Very cool place with great selection and good prices. Yum! We went to the location in Little Bangladesh. Parking (pay) on the street is necessary because the 3-4 parking spaces in front of shop are usually filled.

Place for fancy donuts, like Star Wars donuts for May the 4th.

Dry donuts for the taste but the flavors are unique. I personally dont prefer fondant deco on my donuts but if you?re fine with the teaste, the fondant donuts are adorable. The other pastries are not the best, the muffin was very dry too.

Yoo if you like donuts, you know where to go. The sheer number of people that come through at all hours makes sure it keeps the donuts coming out fresh. But I wouldn?t even come for the donuts, I?d come for the croissant sandwiches. Have them warm em up, and you got yourself a solid meal. Their OJ is BOMB.

Wow! Their donuts are fresh everyday with lots of different flavors to choose from! Crunchy on the outside and soft as a pillow on the inside.its a donut heaven for donut lovers!?

This place is better than Voodoo Donuts!! Their decorations are very cute and their donuts taste so yummy! My favorite is the horchata donut! They even had donuts decorated for the 4th of July! The parking isn't very good but there is street parking right next to it. To order you walk up and purchase from the to-go counter.

I had the toasted coconut donut and it was really good even though I ate it a day after buying it. The donut reminded me of the Hostess crunch donuts. My husband had the cronut with a strawberry filling. It looked pretty and we thought it would be good. He ate it the next day which may have been a mistake because he didn't get the real experience. It was hard by the time he ate it. Maybe we'll give the cronut another try and that time eat it the same day.

Jalape?o mayo sausage croissants about 6-7 bucks, look at the photo and go get your fix! ?? Plenty of morning favorites from doughnuts to delicious coffee ??.

Incredible donuts and great service! They have an array of fun flavors. I highly recommend! Only downside is parking because there's only like 5 spots available

Always a required stop and grab donuts ?? for the trip home.. a must or my kids wouldn?t let me in the house ?? These don?t go to waste and are just as delicious the next day. They have amazing flavors and designs are adorable. My favorite is the maple log with bacon!

California Donuts is an absolute gem of a place, located in the heart of Los Angeles. As someone who takes their donuts seriously, I must say that this establishment exceeded my expectations in every possible way. From the moment you step inside, the delightful aroma of freshly baked donuts fills your senses, and you know you're in for a treat. The display case is a sight to behold, with an impressive array of flavors and colors that are sure to please any palate. But it's not just the variety of donuts t

24 hour donut service. Parking is limited and can be a pain. Had to park a block away and walk over but was totally worth it. Panda donut and the blueberry crunch were my favorite! The donuts are perfect -- not to doughy but have a good bite to them without being overly sweet. I can't wait to come back here to try the rest of the donuts out! ????????

A large variety of different donuts prices are reasonable. There srinks are good to the match and the vanilla blended latte. The parking is very limited and very small only downside to this place

Delicious and beautiful donuts. They take good social distancing measures too. Only reason I gave 4 stars is they can get pretty expensive for the specialty donuts. Paid almost $40 for a dozen donuts and they weren't all specialty donuts either. Definitely a once in a blue moon kinda treat for us.

Very good experience here at 3am Don't get the Snickers one, way too sweet. Other than that; the cream pie, buttermilk, blueberry toast crunch and others were really delectable. Be warned, it's so so decadent. Don't overdue it or the food coma will surely follow. Enjoy the goodness.

Best donuts ever!!!! Well made. Not too dry or too sweet. Love the presentation of each donut..also love the simplicity. What i care is the taste..and the taste is awesome! I really recommend this place if you are nearby. You won't regret it

When we got here there was a que which is always a good sign, the donut selection was crazy and didn't disappoint! The fact this place is open 24 hours is also mad they must make so much money on these tasty treats! They also do a collection of muffins and drinks.

Delicious, this place is a must visit, the only thing I didn't like was free bag of donut holes. I should have known if they were giving them out for free, they were probably trying to get rid of them. But everything and I mean everything you can purchase is amazing

Best donut shop in Los Angeles. The dough is always soft and fresh. The donuts are unique with new seasonal flavors rotated. Delicious lattes. Good prices. Open 24 hours.

I am not a donut person, but that changed the day I tried California Donuts! We tried four different flavors, and all of them were delicious - including the unicorn. They are light and just the right amount of sweet. Great price and we found park right upfront.

My experience at California Donuts was one of the worst. I will never recommend this place to anyone... definitely not for custom work. I ordered custom Cars donuts and letter donuts for a birthday party and was left disappointed. The donuts looked like they had been done by an inexperienced individual sloppy and nothing like there Instagram page. They require you to give them a week an advance notice only to turn out terrible donuts in the end, not to mention how expensive they are. Donuts were extremely d

The hubby and I always buy a Boston cream donut as a frame of reference to rank donut shops. This has got to be my favorite. Also got 5 other flavors and they were all delicious. Couldn't eat them all in one day and even flew home with some. They maintained freshness at room temp

Stopped by here during our trip to LA and nearby Korea Town and got a variety of donuts one night. We ate them the next morning and they were still tasty. They have something for everyone and we all found something we liked. I tried a bit of them all and they were all solid donuts, would definitely stop by again if we're in the area.

The parking lot is tiny so it's a good thing we walked. The doughnuts were very creative and had awesome toppings but the actual doughnut part to me was lacking in flavor/sugar. The customer service was great as well.

Super yummy donuts. They always taste fresh and are soft. They have a huge variety of different types of donuts. I had the coconut one and it was truly delicious. Depending on time of the day it might be hard to find a parking spot. The place is open 24 hrs.

So delicious! Luckily we made it without anyone else in line so we had plenty of time to choose. Our favorite was the lemon curd donut! But I'll definitely be back for the other flavors.

Another staple in LA! There are so many donut places but California Donuts stole my heart and I have visited them on every trip to LA. I swear they?re delicious fresh, still just as good a day old. My favorite is the one with M&M mini?s. It?s so airy but then you get the chocolate icing and crunchy chocolate coating.. mmm.. I wish I had some right now!

Needed a last minute order of their speciality donuts and they were so helpful!! It?s my sons 22nd birthday and their yummy goodies will be his cake ??

I?m not sure why they don?t make enough butter milk donuts if this is your top seller you guys should make more. I clearly think they only make a hand full of those donuts. Also wanting to charge me .25 cents for lighter ice on my green tea is BULLSHIT!!!

Yum! Tasty and fresh. In front of us in the line there was a lady who bought 2 donuts to try, then came back to buy a box. Enough said!:)

This place is awesome. They have fancy donuts! They have old fashioned donuts that you know and love. They have coffee and none donut breakfast items. This place does get busy and parking is limited. So, make sure you give yourself at least 30 minutes during peak time. The donuts in my picture were for Valentine's Day but the M&Ms are available anytime. Make sure you double check your order when you pay. If you don't tell them know exactly what you want then they may add a donut with nuts!

This is easily one of the best doughnut shops in LA. It is a must visit! This is the only location though! All other "California Doughnuts" do not relate to this location. There is a huge selection here and it is all great! They have the option of warm doughnuts that just melt in your mouth. The highest quality doughnuts I have had are from here. Very Impressed and their specialties are great, but the simple regular doughnuts do the job! No need to pay triple to get a panda doughnut unless you need it for
