Cal's Donuts & Pastry

Cal's has the best donuts in town, and the owners are the absolute sweetest. We've ordered several dozen at a time for family events, they have always had our order put together perfectly, on time, for a great price. We stop in whenever we need a little treat, we are greeted with kind smiles, and the vibe is always fun! 10/10 recommend!!

We were referred by Prairie Road Automotive...and they were right. The donuts were great and they had some we hadn't tried before. Of the 2 dozen we bought, everyone liked them, especially the fritters. BTW- They don't take credit cards.

I?ll start off that this was my first time going to this establishment I ordered a half dozen raised donuts ( fried in old oil, temperature was too high as the centers were still raw). Also purchased was two orders of biscuits and gravy. It tasted as it came out of a can (salty). PS..I worked in a bakery for 8yrs., so I do have experience in this type of business. 6/8/24

When you think of that one-off hometown style donut shop, this is place?full stop. The owner was extremely friendly with a few stories to tell and the food was delicious. I am not exaggerating when I say that was the best bagel breakfast sandwich I?ve ever had. I finished the meal with a powdered cake donut, it was soft and delectable. Had a meeting with a client here, spent over $20 at the register (+ the $4 atm fee and a tip). We sat and began our meeting which was scheduled to take about 40min. 20 minutes in the owner abruptly tells us he's closing early and we need to leave (this was over 2 hrs before their listed closing time) despite us having only finished half our beverages and food we politely left and finished our meeting outside in the freezing February weather. Horrible horrible service. Average product at best. They sent me home with several doughnuts I did not order nor want. I made them aware and they would do nothing about it. Not an apology or anything. Just a smirk. In addition, they were dried out and tasted ( the buttermilk bars) like white bread. Very expensive as well. Why can't we have a Dunkin Doughnuts in Eugene, OR?

Went in today.. asked ? do you have Bavarian cream. Man says you blind open your eyes..in fact yes I have been dealing with some vision issues whatever .. kind of a weird thing to say to a customer .. I buy 4 donuts.. cash only I get a ten from my wife .. come back.. one dollar more he says.. Extremely rude. Went in to get a specific type of doughnut. They did not have them which is totally fine, we did not plan ahead. So I simply said to my mom ?we could try somewhere else? and the the owner left the front counter for a few moments then came back to tell me saying we could go somewhere else ?was mean? and that ?this is how they make their living? literally meant no offense. Came for a specific thing and it wasn?t there? so strange.

I wish that I could give this place 10 stars instead of just five! My family ordered donuts to be served at my dad?s memorial service yesterday. The owners of this establishment knew who my dad was, as he frequently had coffee and donuts there. When we came to pick up the donuts, they had all of the donuts we ordered plus an additional few dozen donuts just to say thank you for all the years that my dad was a customer! I stopped in to get donuts for work colleagues. Staff wasn't friendly and their prices are much higher than other donut shops. They only take cash and charge a $2.50 fee to use their in-store ATM. I will stop elsewhere next time...

Cal?s is hands down the best donut shop in town. Even at 2 in the afternoon the donuts taste fresh! The bagels are better than most bagel shops around town as well. The staff is always extremely friendly, which is a huge plus. I highly recommend you come here any time you?re hankering for a delicious donut, or need to pick up a quick breakfast on the go. Forget Voodoo Doughnuts, Cal's Donuts is the true Donut gem of Eugene, Oregon. They have fantastic donuts and pastry's, I don't know how they do it because it seems like every donut has it's own special quality dough. Every single dough and donut is delicious, I can't get enough seriously I have to treat myself with them or else I'd be 400 pounds. Pretty good donut selection, and at a fair price. Is it just me, or are their cream and jelly filled donuts larger than some of their competitors? Regardless, find these to be a good choice out in the River Road area. Buyer beware: they don't accept cards, it is a cash only establishment, and I didn't see any signs that warn you ahead of time.

No Boston creme. That's half a star lost. We did get the last two filled donuts among our dozen assorted and they were all delicious. Fresh, soft, good balance of dough to air for the glazed and filled. Cale donuts were great. Not dry or crumbly to the point of needing milk or coffee but not moist and sticky. Definitely go in the morning for the best taste.

The apple filled bear claw is delicious and the employees were friendly. Be prepared with cash, no cards.

I grew up in this neighborhood, but can't remember ever going here. Back in town for a visit and finally stopped in. Got a maple bar, because apparently you can only get those on the west coast. Also got the biscuits and gravy. Both surpassed my expectations! Maple bar was a big, soft, yeasty delight. The biscuit was light and fluffy, smothered by hot, savory sausage gravy. Wonderful! Just remember to take cash as they don't accept credit or checks.

Cal's has the best donuts around. Today was snowing, so I took a walk out to Cal's to buy a dozen donuts for my kids to enjoy on their snow day. All other stores in the area were closed, but not Cal's. The donuts are large and taste great. Well worth the walk through the deep snow.

My husband brought home a powdered filled donut from here and it was like taking a bite of heaven. The frosting filling wasn't overly sweet but wasn't dull in flavor. The donut itself was super fluffy and soft. Their maple bars are fantastic also! I can't wait to get more!

Pretty good donuts! Stopped by while in town for a short visit. The only inconvenience was that they make you use an ATM to get cash because they don't allow card transactions. No debit or credit. If you don't have cash you have to pay the ATM fee or move on.

These are some of my favorite donuts. They do lots of good stuff here, but where Cal's really excels is in their plain cake donuts and buttermilk bars - they have the simple donut perfected to an artform. Be aware: they are cash only, and while there is an ATM in the store it charges a significant fee.

Cals is hands down the best. I consider them a premium donut so they have a higher cost. They are worth it and no store can touch the quality of their donuts. You will not be disappointed, they have fantastic lemon filled.

This place has been here since Eugene's dinosaurs invented donuts. I ate these donuts when I was a middle schooler with no discipline and fewer dinosaurs. I ate these donuts as an adult and have become a dinosaur. Give them your patronage. The cycle renews.

Good biscuits and gravy. If you show up after noon the donut selection is smaller. Offer a variety of drinks, coffees, and teas including bubble. Plenty of seating. Clean. Parking lot can fill up but there is parking available across the street as well. Bus stop close.

Even some street beggars these days accept credit or debit cards; the fact that Cal's does NOT is insane. Donuts at least look quality.

My favorite donut place ever...... though I do have one complaint about the bubble tea, sometimes the boba doesn't get cooked long enough and when boba is undercooked it is like biting into a cheap bouncy ball.

Sooo fresh. Their stock sells quickly, and if they're sold out, they'll tell you when the next batch will come out. Super friendly, clean, cozy place to take a break.
