Cafe Donuts & Ice Cream

Cafe donuts has been a staple in Champlin for many years. Lately I?ve been picking up a dozen donuts for special days at work, parties, etc. Every single time I get endless compliments and questions about where they are from. The dozen I got this morning before work were literally still warm & it made everyone?s day ?? The only piece of advice I could give is to get branded donut boxes. A couple of people said ?ohh is this the bakery in Plymouth? They have the same boxes?. But if you could differentiate

First time there. Everything was great, in my opinion. The counter guy was very nice, the breakfast sandwiches were delicious, and the donuts were awesome. The "jellies" were very poofy and delish! I'll be back because "I deserve a donut" ... or 12??????????

5 Stars as the donuts here are fantastic. Sometimes the service isn't great (young kids honestly, but you have to expect some of that with age...). None the less, good place to stop. People are caring and want to make the customer happy, all be it, the young kids at the counter sometimes need some training...

We came here Saturday morning around 11am and it was awesome. They have a fantastic selection of fun donuts...We especially loved the Cookies and Cream one! It was super affordable, very clean and excellent service. You should definitely swing by this place!

I love the sugar donuts. The texture and taste is perfect, nothing beats this place in making donuts! I live in Burnsville and drive 45 mins to get here.

they did not listen to us at all. had only three flavors of donuts are donuts were very hard. i would not recommend this dunkin? to anyone. told us they had a donut then didn?t. don?t go here

Great donuts, and great price as well. I've been very happy with the service as well. I got two frosted donuts for less than what I'd pay at the gas station, and they taste so much better.

Not sure what has happened to management here, but service has dropped drastically. Used to be one of my families favorite place to visit for family night. Now there is poor/no service at the counter, found the place to be closed during business open hours posted on the door. Donuts and ice cream are wonderful!

A little frustrated as I drove over 30 min to try cafe donuts for the first time as it?s been recommended to me and when I got there, all doors were locked while open signs were still lit up. It was 11am on a Sunday. No sign saying they were closed, no notice on their website or anything. I tried to call and there was no answer and the voicemail box was full. A notice somewhere would be nice if they aren?t going to be open during their posted open hours.

Delicious donuts at a great price! Only downside is how early they close. Glad I could make it in on my day off.

Great prices, generally friendly staff, and quick service. Plus, the donuts are mighty tasty. :) They've become a ritual stop for me when I'm biking up past or through Elm Creek.

One of the worst frappe I had. There was absolutely no Blended ice. Half was froth. Also fruit flies seen around the donut shelf. Will not be coming back ever.

We ordered 19 dozen donuts for our wedding dessert "donut wall". They were a huge hit! Very good donuts, and a great deal. Wish they had a few more varieties to choose from, but we wound up getting 4 different kinds, and then adding sprinkles to make even more variety, which worked well. Guests dug into donuts during cocktail hour so I guess they were a hit. Delivery options would have been great, but the team is short staffed at this time, so completely understandable.

Are you looking for that classic delicious donut? You NEED to visit this place and get yourself a donut! They have 10+ different types, and they are always fresh!

Haven?t been to get donuts in a while and was pleasantly surprised when I stopped by today. They now have the donuts in a case so the customer can really look at the selection and the store is super clean and staff super friendly. I had a pumpkin donut, and hands down, it was the best donut I?ve had in a long time. I ordered other flavors for my family and they commented they loved their donuts too. I will definitely be visiting more often as the donuts have really improved and taste great!!!

Love this local donut shop. Has ice cream and beverages too. But the donuts are the winning prize. Tastes home made without the artificial flavors, sweeteners or preservatives. Cant say the donuts are made holistically but they do taste like it was made in grandma's kitchen. Would recommend making a trip to eat these delicious donuts!

A delightful experience of courteous, efficient, and study service. Easy to find and reach, located in a good area, right off the freeway but just enough to not be noisy. They had a nice variety of donuts, and displayed well, and I was able to select what I wanted quickly, and got it handed over to me in clean and appealing packaging. The place felt welcoming, clean, and safe. I definitely will order here again.

Donuts tasted like old oil was used in the fryer. Hard and frosting fell off in chunks.. for the price they should have tasted fresh and been soft.. the only thing that tasted good was the bottled beverage I purchased from the cooler. Will not be going back there

The donuts are greasy and subpar. What's worse is the cleanliness. When you walk in the odor of chemicals is strong, however every single surface is dirty. The walls have splatters, floor is caked with dirt - especially on edges, counters are sticky, the garbage can in the bathroom had a thick film of grease on the outside. Tossed donuts after a few bites because if that's how dirty seating is, I can't imagine kitchen is clean.

They have a good selection of donuts and coffee. It's also a plus that they are combined with an ice cream parlor. The reason I give them 3 stars is because a couple times now, the donuts I've received haven't been the freshest. I've only had their coffee once, and it wasn't great either. I will still go here, but hoping to see improvement in the consistency of the quality.

The frosting filled glazed donut I had tasted like week old fryer oil, and the cream cheese icing tasted like alot of butter. The carmel iced frappe tasted like cream and sugar with some coffee in there somewhere. The other donuts we got were decent, and the place was clean. That's the best I can say.

Used to come here all the time after high-school. They were amazing then! Went here again to see if they were still amazing, nope. They had maybe 6 kinds of donuts compared to the 20 they had before. Prices rose too, but that's inflation for ya. Didn't even end up buying and donuts because they didn't have any of the good ones left. :/

We love Cafe Donuts. Coffee is great with free refills. I have never seen such a wonderful variety of donuts. All of the staff are really wonderful but Tracy is a standout with her service and personality. Always a pleasure.

Fun little donut and ice cream shop. They have a large selection of donuts, everyone I have tried is very good. The ice cream selection is smaller, but still has good flavors. A good stop for donuts in the morning and afternoon or evening stop for ice cream. They also have an early bird special for donuts, if you order before 7 AM.

I really like this place, they offer a fun variety. My mediocre rating reflects their more recent tendency to close shop or alter hours without updating either their Google info or at least having any adjusted hours indicated in their voicemail message (which, by the way, the inbox is Always full so messages can't be left). The doughnuts are amazing! I found this place on accident and man it was a fantastic accident. The variety of the doughnuts and the quality of the few I had were fantastic. Haven't had their ice cream, but they have an ice cream shop in the place too. Also tried the iced coffee, and boy is it strong. But don't take if from me because my favorite iced coffee is from McDonald and to coffee drinkers that's not coffee. Give this place a try and your sweet tooth will thank you.

I placed an order online via Grubhub for a pickup time of 6am. I arrived 10 minutes early and the store was closed even though the website says they open at 5:30am. We have been going here for years and they always have great ice cream and donuts!! My son loves the superman icecream ( vibrant colored sherbert like icecream) and I love the Eskimo kisses, (chocolate , fudge pieces and coconut) Fresh donuts and really kind service. We love coming here!

6/5/2020: We attempted to try Cafe Donuts & Ice Cream for the first time yesterday evening. We arrived at 7:10 PM. They were closed. Don't bother with the bagels. I grabbed a dozen and they were at least a day old (rock hard outer layer). Had to drive to a grocery store to replace them. Wouldn't have minded as much, but I asked her if they were fresh from today. Donuts were good though.

I haven't had donuts this good in decades! Wow, amazing. The Bavarian Creme was so delicious -- usually, the BC's have great tasting cream filling and bland donut part -- not so here. The cream was so flavorful and tasty, but the raised donut part was also delicious. If I hadn't already gotten a Butternut (oh, yum) and a Sour Cream (mmmmm), I would have gotten a Glazed just to have more of that yummy dough. We typically love these doughnuts but today's were really greasy tasting. You could taste the oil they were cooked in. They were not good at all!

Has great donuts and even better customer service! Bought some doughnuts for my students, but there was a mix up with the number that I received. As soon as I mentioned it, they apologized and fixed it.

Friendly lady that worked there gave me 2 muffins for the price of 1 because they didn't have the lemon poppy seed I was hoping for as well as extra donut holes. Great first time experience,highly recommended.

This is the second time we've come in to the Champlin location, WELL before closing (6pm on a Fri) , and they haven't had any donuts.... My fiance wanted to get me some donuts as a valentine dessert and the donut place was out of donuts? Disappointed.

A few things we wanted off the menu they didn't actually have... and we were not greeted or spoken to until we ordered. But the donuts were good and reasonable prices.

Important to know that Quiznos is out and Cafe Donuts is now in at this location (as of June 2011). Ice cream here is good and donuts are yummy. Be sure to stop in and try things for yourself :-)

I go here every Thursday and every Thursday Tracey knows exactly what I want. They provided donuts for my wedding and my guest were blown away. There is nothing but the best donuts here!!!

We order cake online for Saturday,on thursday i contact cafe donats and they said that my cake will be ready to pickup on Saturday.On friday morning recive message that the order is canceled. NEVER WILL COME HERE AGAIN.Our son Birthday is on Saturday and no cake.

The services was friendly, just unfortunate the coffee well none of us thought was good. 3 of us order coffee and not one of us liked it. Ended up going straight to Holiday gas station to grab different coffee.

This place frequently is out of doughnuts! The ice cream is always freezer burnt with ice in it. I love the doughnuts when they are available, but I find myself walking in and walking out empty handed more often then not....

We love this local shop and always having sprinkle donuts was what set them apart. However, they recently DRAMATICALLY cut back the amount of sprinkles they use and it is very disappointing.

The cherry cake donut was amazing! The guy working gave us quick service and was kind enough to get us waters as well.
