We live within walking distance, and in our house this place is known as ?the good donuts?! We get them on the way home from the library with my little boys or on days we need a little treat. They really are the best donuts and we love supporting our local small business! Definitely love that they aren?t overloaded with food dyes as well.
Delicious, super tasty! They have different creamer flavors for the coffee and my favorite thing is that they do ?Too Good To Go?, an app where you can pick up a ?surprise box? of leftover food/ donuts for super cheap.
I've only ever been here under the new owner and it has always been delicious. Friendly counter staff, quick service, perfect donuts. The maple buttermilk bar is my favorite donut ever, but everything I've tried has been delicious. Cinnamon roll is my husband's favorite. Very happy they won readers choice 2024 best donut shop! Very proud of our local business!
I know donut shops are usually a morning supply service. Go in early and get the good ones. But yum yum is busy all day and they keep a regular supply ready to go. 2$a donut when you have 4 options left is crazy. The guy tries to upsell me which is fine, he's trying to give me more doubts at a lower cost to each. But still buying 6donuts that aren't even the kind I want for 10 dollars. Just isn't a deal. I wanted to support small chains but I can get more variety and better options if I go to a franchis

Wow! What a light eclair and not overly sweet?simply delicious. And this is at 5pm, craving a donut on the way home from work. Can you imagine the taste within an hour of opening in the morning? No wonder nearly every rack was empty at 5pm. The apple fritters and double chocolate were just as delicious and perfect for coffee in the morning. I?m not a routine donut guy, but I just found my ?go to?donut shop when I have that craving or guests in town. Family-owned and operated and their pride delivered
I don't care what anyone says about this place, as a child my parents took me here in the 90's and the owner was always so nice to us. Donuts were always delicious. I don't live in IB anymore but I miss this place.
My wife and I are visiting from Tennessee and decided we needed some donuts while in Imperial Beach. CH Donuts popped up on our radar and we couldn?t be more pleased with our experience. The gentlemen behind the counter was extremely friendly, and the donuts were amazing! Even though we arrived at 4pm, the donuts weren?t stale and tasted great!
Selection very limited on Thursday around 5pm. I got two glazed donuts for $2.50 each. I think it?s too much for a regular donut. I?d rather go to yum yum donuts for a similar (if not better) taste and less expensive

Woke up early and wanted some donuts. Walked in and was greeted by the owner. Ordered an apple fritter and a fruity pebbles donut. The sweetness was just right. My son had his first donut here.

Please update your hours. Today, your posted opening time was at 6 a.m., however you were not open. I returned at 6:24, and still closed. Great donuts, but this is the second time that I?ve come early to be disappointed.

I love the donuts here! Also, the new management is friendly and helpful! I always stop in when I pass by and go out of my way to drive an extra 10 -15 mins to grab donuts here. My only complaint is they run out too soon some days! (Which means they are so good that I'm not they only one dropping in!)

Trash now that the old man left. Can't taste the hard work and love anymore. Just don't taste as fresh. He used to know everybody and toss in extra too. Hope he is doing well. New owners raised prices too. Oh well, time to find new donut shop.
Doughnuts were fresh.............but not cheap anymore..............almost same price to get a fast food drive thru breakfast..............inflation has hit the doughnut shop too.............I still get a doughnut once in awhile
This is a great place to get donuts. The donuts are tasty and our fave is the Apple Fritters, cinnamon roll, maple bar and old fashioned donut. Our favorite place to get our donuts. The owner is really friendly and appreciates the business. Will definitely be coming back again real soon.

My family loves this donut shop! You gotta go early before he sells out. The place isn't fancy but the quality is amazing and the gentleman in charge is so sweet and friendly.
The place closes at 1, it's 11:00 now they have absolutely no other donuts other than five old ugly looking donuts, on 1 tray out of 15 display cases..... Place looks like it's going out of business..... If you're going to close early close early... Don't just have five donuts 3 hours prior to closing.. On the good side of the situation the man was really nice on my instant departure....... I give 2 stars from 1 star..because he knew he screwed up...losing a customer....
What a bummer. This used to be my go to donut shop. Looks like the new owners not only doubled the price but changed the recipes. Not nearly as good as the used to be.
The best donuts in the area, they don't give an aftertaste of fake sugar or whatever chemicals to make pastries last longer. I will go out of my route to get a pink sprinkle donut here. Friendly clerks.

Have loved their donuts forever. But now that Mr K is gone. They continue to have the same taste and donuts are just as good.

I do not recommend this donut shop at all. The woman who was working was extremely rude. I wasn?t sure what I wanted yet and I was on the phone with my friend to see what she wanted. I informed her that I wasn?t sure what I was getting, and afterwards she just sat in the back on her laptop. After two minutes I let her know I was ready and she refused service. I may have been short because I was on the telephone but I was in no way disrespectful.
My fav donut place was closed and I found C & H on Google maps nearby. The gentleman behind the counter was extremely nice. They had cold half and half for the coffee. It was very clean. The jelly filled lemon and raspberry I got were delicious. Took me back to my childhood.
The donuts are always excellent! but the owners wife who works there has very poor customer skills and at times can be down right rude. The husband is fantastic with the customers and is kind and friendly.
I grew up in IB and I?ve tried to find a place even as good as CH Donuts in state and out. But you can?t beat it. Absolutely amazing donuts and great people who run the place. They are very nice, good people.

One of the best Donut Shops around. Been going here for over thirty (30) years. Friendly owner. C H Donuts is only open for a little while. Get here early. Unfortunately, they are closed on Mondays.

I can confirm- the Apple fritter is indeed one of the best in town! Go early as they don?t have a huge selection at all times like bigger businesses.
Cannot beat their old-fashioned's! Oh so light crust on some edges, its always a pleasant surprise! Nice, friendly couple own and serve it. Best in all of San Diego!
