San Francisco, California 94117
Great corner spot for easy access to donuts. Great variety, and nice staff members explaining the flavors. The display case was cute and organized neatly with name tents. Came here after an ebike tour and ordered thir famous Apple Fritter donut. Great flavor! Lovely day. Famous Apple Fritter donut - massive!!
Good enough donuts; it was a rainy day and my first time visiting. I was really excited to learn there was a donut shop in the area with a high rating. I picked a strawberry filled donut, two old fashioned donuts (maple and plane) and the ?famous/popular? apple fritter (because it said famous/popular). The strawberry donut was semi-filled with jam, nothing special but my son liked it, and the old fashioned donuts were tasty. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed by the apple fritter as it was dry and
I rarely eat sweet stuff. Bob's Donuts is my exception. My favorite is their classic glazed donut. It is fluffy, crispy sugar crust, moist on the inside without being under cooked and melts as soon as I chew into it. It is never dry. Excellent service.
The art on the walls is a treat to the senses it?s located on the corner of locust and Baker just the way a traditional donut shop in the city should be. It truly is a good way to start the day. The variety of unique and interesting options are so creative. Hablan espanol :)
Service and Atmosphere: 5 stars However, the food is what I came for and it is what left me dissapointed. Not sure about their regular donuts but their vegan donuts are downright awful. Worst donuts I?ve ever eaten. They were all cake donuts, including the apple fritter, which I found weird. But they werent even regular cakey donuts it was more like the consistency of cinnamon rolls. The fritters were also slightly undercooker and doughy in some parts. (My last pic shows the stretchy dough) This city is r
The doughnuts were wonderful!! Lots of fun choices! Worth the drive for a doughnut place opened in the afternoon. The lady didn?t seem thrilled to be at work! But the taste was worth it!
The donut variety available is fantastic ? they are incredibly delicious and generously sized. During rush hour, there may be a line due to the popularity of this spot, but the staff is known for being exceptionally friendly and efficient.
Tasty fresh donuts with a number of unique offerings, such as croissant donuts, breakfast donuts, large holiday-themed donuts, and vegan donuts. The regular glazed donut and chocolate sprinkles donut were great. I also tried the chive breakfast donut stuffed with cream cheese, which tasted like a mix between a donut and a bagel and is a nice option for those who prefer savory to sweet. This place is a second location to the SF original. The interior is casual with a fun wall of donut-themed art. It seems qu
Bob's on Baker Street is an okay donut place. Last year we went to Bob's Donuts and were in high hopes that this will perform as last year. I don't know if this is a different company, but nevertheless the food was fine. The donuts overall were okay, but weren't warm or fresh and there weren't many options left that seemed pleasurable. The service however is really good and the atmosphere is nice. There are definitely better options in San Francisco.
Cute neighborhood donut + pastry shop! The shop, though small, was decorated really well and smelled heavenly. There was a great assortment of donuts as well, from super sweet to savory! The girl at the counter was super sweet as well, which made me like the store even more. I'm assuming this branch is a little less busy than the main one as it seemed to mostly have people in the neighborhood pop in and out for a quick bite/take out. You can't go wrong with the original glazed ? it's light and fluffy and j
The jalape?o breakfast donut was so unique and absolutely delicious! The guava and raspberry filled were amazing too! And the owner is really nice and friendly!
Shares a name with the classic SF institution on Polk Street. Donuts here are super fresh, and the perfect texture. Would recommend the buttermilk, twist, and malasada (if you're looking for something less traditional. The guava flavor was ??). Expect a wait in the mornings, especially on the weekends. A great stop before a late morning brunch picnic at Alamo Square Park!
Fantastic donuts, horrible attitude. Unless you've got a toothache there's no reason to be this rude and roll your eyes at the customer. Yes, some of us are stupid and are holding everyone else up, but why do I get an eyeroll when I'm in and out of the shop in 2 minutes because I know exactly what I want, treating you kindly and pay quickly?
Amazing donuts, 4 vegan options + the apple fritter, which I totally recommend (looks weird but tastes amazing). The woman who served us both times we went was nice. I wish they had filled vegan donuts though.
lovely service and great vegan donuts! the matcha donut is special
The donuts are just okay. I found the custard filling to be too gelatinous with not enough flavor, and the dough left an odd aftertaste in the mouth. Prices are cheap. I believe they are known for their apple fritter, which I didn?t get, so I will maybe give it one more chance and go back for that, but wouldn?t go back for anything else.
scrumptious malasadas and creme br?l?e donut! girl in the front was super cool 10/10
Seriously good donut with hot coffee. Just moved here rom Austin and needed a new local donut shop. Checked them out and can confidently say that it?s my new home. Huge classic donut and very tasty. Prices are even cheaper than Texas and the donut is way bigger.
Always on my list to stop by when coming into the city. Love their filled malasadas or donuts as they never skimp on the inside. Some donut places have little fillings but not this place. So good!
Bob's donuts on Baker Street!!! What a great surprise. The Baker Street location is way better than the orginal Polk Street location. The customer service is so friendly and welcoming. The Baker Street location is all around 5 + stars. I'm impressed with the marshmallow donut and
This new Bob's is just like the one on Polk, but without the grime! It's got a bigger kitchen area and every great donut variety appears to be available all the time. The glazed yeast donut melts in your mouth. And the cinnamon sugar cake can't be beat either. Great addition to the neighborhood!
Don't go late morning! Big fan of the original location, go any time of day and they're churning out fresh, delicious donuts. Doesn't seem to be the case with the Baker St. location. Got an old fashioned donut and was so sad and disappointed to see it was super oily and clearly fried at a low temp. I couldn't eat it. Tried a second cake donut and it was stale as well....I'd be willing to try earlier in the day but will avoid it otherwise.
Bob's has the best doughnuts. And I'm not even a doughnut person. But those are the very best, and this is a much better, cleaner location than their main store. However, it seems to still be going through the process of opening. The doughnuts, unlike the other locations, weren't super fresh. I'm guessing it's a demand issue. I cannot wait for more people to start coming into this location so they will start making more and everything will be fresh, and I can revise this review to 5 stars. Good luck Bob's!
I was touristing in the area and it smelled so so good from this place, couldn't help entering. Tried the apple fritter and old fashioned chocolate donuts, both awesome.
Bobs on Baker Street what can I say it's a hidden gem donut spot. The city is not big on donuts. But this spot is one of our best donuts in the city.
I visited San Fran from the east coast & man so many good baked goods here. The best place I visited was this donut shop that had this amazing Tiger Tail (Cinnamon Roll Twist) which was light & airy & didnt last long for me to finish
This is such a cute donut place, and so many flavors! I loved the maple and bacon, the fruitloop one was delicious and the strawberry shortcake was just yummy ??
I always worry when an ?institution? expands to other locations, but the Baker Street location offers a wide array of great donuts! The store doesn?t have the grit and charm of the original on Polk, but there are no lines, which is always a plus!
The only thing I get there are the vegan doughnuts. They are really good! Best in the bay area seriously. I've tried other vegan donuts from San Rafael, Oakland, all over SF and I concluded the Bob's baker ones on Baker Street are the best.
Picked up my kids donuts from here and they were a huge hit. They loved the cool flavors that they had like the creme brulee or peanut butter and jelly donut. Definitely recommend as a sweet treat every once in a while. If you've never tried their breakfast donuts you should they are so flavorful and delicious filled with cream cheese and different mixtures it's one of the best savory donuts I've ever had.
Incredibly delicious donuts!! Fresh, soft and full of toppings.
The best donuts I ever had in my life. Staff is nice and friendly. I tried Hawaiian - strawberry , muffin croissant, creme br?l?e they are great.
The good: Service, festive looking doughnuts were cute. Huge Selection. The bad: Could've been because we were later in the day, but the overall quality was a miss. Breakfast doughnut cheese and bread was stale. The halloween caramel doughnut was below what you could get at Safeway imo. It really wasn't good. Hopefully just because of the time we went, but there were a lot of doughnuts still in the casing and in the oven racks.
I really love their donuts the chocolate jelly filled is my favorite and it?s not typically my choice at any other donut place but the filling is so good here
I have the creme brulee donut it was really good. They have a microwave in the corner for you to heat it up a little bit I may have warmed mine a little too long and the sugar shell melted but the taste of the donut was a supreme and the cream filling was divine.
Cozy neighborhood Donut shop. The staff are kind and friendly, and the Donuts are delicious. They have a wide selection of Donuts to choose from and every one I've tried so far has been great. My personal favorites are the Maple Cronut, Blueberry Fruity Pebble, and Donut holes. Highly recommend you stop if you're in the neighborhood.
WITHOUT A DOUBT IN MY MIND OR BELLY, BOBS DONUTS ARE THE BEST DONUTS IN SAN FRANCISCO AND QUITE POSSIBLY ALL OF CALIFORNIA. I walk the dogs of a friend near the baker st Bob's and stop in frequently, as a small luxury on a fixed income with volunteer gigs, this donut is worth putting change aside for daily. Imagine my surprise and absolute elation as the elevator lobbydoors opened and sitting on a folding table in subsidized housing in the tenderloin where it truly looks as if there isn't any hope left , in
I haven't had a donut in months, croissant donut here and omg it's so crispy and warm and ohhhh so delicious. Fast friendly service with a smile
These doughnuts were GREAT! The cake doughnuts were cooked perfectly and the regular were light and airy. Whether you are a local or visiting San Fran you have to try Bob?s.
Look, Bob's has a huge variety of donuts... but if you still need to be convinced - just get the old fashioned glazed. It's light but substantial. It's sugar is big globs of flakey sugar. That great taste of SF dough. It's coffee & breakfast cost less than just a plain bagel anywhere else. You can't beat this donut anywhere in the city.
Best donuts in SF! Try it, they're all delicious!
You can judge a donut ?? shop by how tasty their plain glazed donut is. Theirs is absolutely amazing ????
Eh. Great service. OK donuts. Over priced. Paid $38 for 12 regular donuts. DonutBar in San Diego has the best donuts, Crispy Cream in many places is much better. But good for "Bob" and his employees for charging for the demand.
Amazing fresh-made donuts, ranging from 1.75 to 4$ per donut
Amazing donuts. Flavors range from classic crullers to cereal flavors topped with actual cereal. They serve both yeast and cake donuts plus apple fritters, cinnamon buns, and multiple flavors of cronuts. If you're considering going here, do it - you won't be disappointed
Delicious fresh donuts that are always a delight to see all laid out in the trays behind the glass case. Their traditional donuts always leave a sense of satisfaction for me at the first bite. Their special and seasonal flavors are definitely worth a try!
I like the donuts and they're quite good. They're apparently famous for their apple fritters which is what brought me here to begin with. And they were definitely pretty good, however I had a hard time identifying what about them made them better than any other apple fritter I've ever eaten. Again delicious but at least to me it didn't feel too out of the ordinary
We were craving a classic cream filled donut during the Shelter-in-Place. We were happy to discover that Bob?s Donuts was in the neighborhood! Apparently a lot of people had the same idea so there was a line. It moved quite quickly though. The store was very clean and the staff were friendly! The best part was were donuts! Filled with cream so yummy to the last bite!
Mmm. So good. I love the cake crumb donut. The blueberry crumb tasted like fake blueberry to me. Apple fritter was alright. Chocolate old fashioned was super tasty. Great neighborhood donut spot!
Always been a fan of Bob's donuts. Finally had a chance to go to this location. Super friendly staff, really clean and well designed and the donuts are just as amazing.
Donuts are always fresh and delicious! I liked the blueberry cake donut. Has less variety/selection than some donut shops, but still has several yeast varieties, filled, apple fritters, cake, old fashions, etc. Although when judging all factors with other donut options, Safeway is hard to beat.
Fresh donuts made right on site and they are excellent but some of the more popular varieties go fast so go early to get your favorites. Employees are very friendly and a pleasure to interact with to find that special donut that you are looking for. Great to have a Bob's on the west side to satisfy those moments of weakness. They are worth the indulgence.
I Love love love Bob's on Polk and a friend told me about Bob's on Baker and how the donuts at the Baker St. location were very fancy and even taken up a notch....I immediately socked him right in the face...haha....But I recently passed by the Baker St. Location and discovered my friend's blastumous comment was true. It was a boutique donut experience....one I had never had and didn't know how much I wanted this experience;) Truly a delight!
No doughnuts. Got here at 7 after driving 35 mins to find they were out of normal doughnuts. They close at 9 pm. They had leftovers of flavors no one wanted. Blueberry? Come on. They didn't seem to care and were mostly empty. No wonder.
SO much variety! Great taste with a large selection. These donuts are larger than competitive shops as well. Worth every penny!
I?m delighted Bob?s is on my corner! The donuts are made right there in front of you. They are super fresh, really top quality donuts. For a relatively small production space they have quite a bit of variety. The space is clean and fun. Highly recommend.
I?d give Bob?s 6 stars but (i) once you?ve had Bob?s, any other donut is just kind of disappointing, and (ii) Google doesn?t actually let you do that
Bob's donuts , new upgraded version fomyhe one on Polk and with great selection of donuts.
I live dangerously near to this donut shop. DANGEROUSLY near. I like Krispy Kreme, but Bob's donuts are the chewy, yeasty donuts of my childhood, and I love them. They always offer a great selection of delicious flavors are regularly introduce new ones. We're huge fans of the filled mango, pineapple, and strawberry lemonade ones in particular! Their pastries are also really good, and super-filling - the apple fritters are yum! but enough for two meals. Throughout the pandemic, this donut shop has seemingl
I was really excited to find a local donut shop with vegan options. Unfortunately, if you?re looking for good vegan donuts, this place is not it. While I think it?s great that they?re being inclusive by catering to both vegans and non-vegans, the recipes for their vegan donuts either need to be improved before they sell the donuts again or they simply need to remove all the vegan options to spare someone the trip that would otherwise end in total disappointment. The person at the register was very pleasant
Amazing donuts. My Litmus Test for a great donut shop is a plain cake. No BS here ....best cake I've ever had. Crisp crust, moist center, just the right amount of nutmeg. A+ guys!
Bob's on Baker is top notch for donuts. The variety is amazing and the taste is out of this world. They have decent vegan options as well. We can't help ourselves from going back for more!
Friendly staff. Even with a line things went along quickly. Still has the smell of an old fashion donut shop. We were able to get Jewish donuts sufganiyot and guava malasada. Coffee crumb as a raised donut is not for me but I?ll know better next time.
Favorite donut shop on earth! Made a ?birthday donut cake? from my favorites.
Like a Bob's close to my home. Always had good service at the Polk St store. Did my 'Free Donut Day' this Sunday and handed out the dozen along the way home thru Farmers Market at DMV. A nice Sunday.
Wish there were more drink options, but there was only one person working there so it's understandable. Super friendly service and REALLY good donuts! I got the glazed cronut and was craving another after.
I bought a dozen donuts for my coworkers. These were a hit! Everyone loved the donuts including myself. I will be back to get donuts for my coworkers.
Malasadas. Love them. Buttermilk bar donuts. Amazing. The staff is exceptionally kind in a city that often has staff who treat you like you are bothering them by being there.
This place has the best doughnuts in SF. The staff is always so friendly and they have doughnuts to fit everyone?s needs.
I?ve been a regular to Bob?s on Polk for the past 8 years. Recently moved and now the Baker address will be my new home. We walked here during the SIP and picked up a Buttermilk Donut + Apple Fritter (obviously). The buttermilk was fresh baked and absolutely amazing. The fritter, however, was disappointing and didn?t have the same taste and texture I?m used to. I?m hoping it was a bad batch and not a new normal with the Baker Street address. Regaled was, 5 stars. I love you Bob?s
Delicious donuts worth going to. I?m not really a sweet tooth, but I tried the savory breakfast chive one and it was bussing! My partner loves the bobs tiger tail.
The crumb cake doughnut was extraordinarily delicious and quite fresh! I will definitely return for more! One thing, though, is that they don?t accept cash (which might be illegal given that cash is ?legal tender?) which was annoying.
Cinnamon Toast Crunch donut was absolutely incredible
Coffee: solid, strong flavor but not burnt. Plain cake donut: A bit on the deep-fried side (very crispy on the outside). Inside is relatively soft / fluffy. Apple fritter: Largish, but lightweight enough to easily finish. Not too sweet nor too deep-fried.
Bob's is simply the best! I was overjoyed when they opened up their location on Baker, walking distance from home. The old fashioned glazed are a Sunday staple for my family, though the kiddos prefer chocolate + sprinkles (of course). Even on a Sunday morning the line moves quickly, they are well stocked, friendly yet efficient, clean, and consistently delicious.
Bob's has malasadas now?!? The pumpkin custard was AMAZING! Was like my mouth got to take an autumn trip back east and to Hawaii all at once! So glad I finally went to this Bob's after years of many good late nights at Polk St. shop. Only thing missing was a chance to see the lovely donut goddess Aya Anh!
Amazing donuts & so many options! They also have coffee, but I've never gotten it because there are so many other great coffee shops nearby that I'll pair with these donuts. If you are near the panhandle, this is a must stop for donuts.
we ordered on uber eats on march 23, 2023. They cancelled my order but I was still charged. Uber eats won't issue a refund and the store hasn't issued a refund either - which totaled to $38.83
Bob?s has THE best donuts in San Francisco. I usually get their glazed raised donuts and chocolate old-fashioned donuts. Definitely recommend if you want a sweet treat!
Make sure to try their Maple Cronut, best one that i tried! Creme brule donut was good as well, tiramisu donut didn?t taste much like coffee.
All-day donut shop with great fresh donuts and pastries at reasonable prices; what?s not to love! I live around the corner and come by when I need a treat. The apple fritter is a standout but I haven?t had a bad thing yet!
My partner and I recently purchased a condominium right upstairs. They have some of the best doughnuts in San Francisco. If you are in NOPA I highly recommend giving them a try.
I was quite excited to see a Bob's after i finished a gig nearby and gleefully went inside. but $4 for a donut that tasted like yesterday's? Disappointed to say the least especially after paying $2.75 for *2* fresher, tastier donuts m the day before at Mazzettis in Pacifica.
I?ve eaten here twice. Each time I?ve ordered around 3 to 4 items. Never have I been impressed.
The donuts don?t taste like the ones from Polk street (which we love). The custard filling is very very bad (don?t want to say disgusting in respect to the fact that it?s food). The service is also not great.
Always friendly, nice engaging staff...as well great donut selection. Wouldn't say the same about the original location where I have sworn off going as on several occasions my donuts were damaged even though in a box ...JSMH
feeling so happy that we have this amazing second location for this great local business!! always a hit & they often have new fun flavors that we're excited to try. my favorite is the horchata cruffin & when they have malasadas (please make those permanent!).
The matcha donut is amaze. Bob's is an institution and has been feeding bar patrons on weekend after a night of drinking for decades at their Polk Street location on the wee hours of the morning: drag queens, gays, OG dudes from the neighborhood. Bob's on Baker sadly doesn't have this character, but they still put out the same sweet sweet goodness I return to. Thank God my fast metabolism has kept up with me even in my mid-forties as I have been eating their baked goods since my 20s, long after the bars ha
