Bob's Grill, Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Bob's Grill, Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Reviews Summary

Bob's Grill receives mixed reviews, with strong praise for its breakfast, donuts, and boardwalk location, but significant criticism for inconsistent food quality, high prices, and poor service. Many 5-star reviews highlight friendly staff, quick service, and nostalgic charm, while 1-star complaints focus on underwhelming portions, stale or frozen food, and cash-only inconvenience. The restaurant excels when meeting expectations (especially for donuts and classic breakfasts) but falters with inconsistency—some meals arrive cold, overpriced, or poorly prepared. Service varies widely, from efficient to neglectful. Ideal for those prioritizing location and tradition over gourmet dining.

Dirtiest coffee mugs I?ve ever seen. Pretty sure they wash their mugs by hand at best. Just gross, inside isn?t just stained it?s dirty and used looking. Also worst tasting hash browns on the boardwalk. They look like they?re fried in old oil. The waitress did offer a coffee refill, but sadly she also brought the creamer plate sitting on top of the coffee mug, no telling

Great place to grab breakfast on the boardwalk. Fresh donuts too. Go early and there's no wait. Nothing fancy, but food is good and service is quick and friendly

Our waitress was really nice. The food was decent, but it was EXTREMELY overpriced, and they didn't have a lot of the items that were on the menu. I'm glad that we got the waitress that we did, but all of the other employees really seemed like they didn't want to be there, and we could all feel it (4 of us). We usually only go to Wildwood, so to be fair, I don't know what the prices are normally like in Ocean City. However, if this is how their prices are during the off-season, I don't even want to know wha

After renting bikes from them, I expected the same quality and service in the restaurant, so we checked it out. Their food was at most average, with most of the dishes (pancakes, sausage) being low effort compared to their prices. Their service was sub par but I gave them 2 stars due to their exceptional donuts. I would not come back.

We had our daughter?s Newlywed Breakfast at Bob?s and it was beyond wonderful. Joyce, Sue and the rest of the staff were so kind to us and easy to work with. The food was delicious and the view I had of the ocean as I was enjoying my breakfast was beautiful. Thank you, Bob?s, for everything.

I have fond memories of this place from my childhood, but lunch today will likely be our last visit. It was terrible and ridiculously expensive for what we got. Pictured are the ?loaded fries? we ordered. I hope this is just an issue with the season getting started, as I?d hate to think this is what Bob?s is now. Our waitress was super nice though.

Wow Childhood memories come alive bringing my own child to Bob's for breakfast. The Doughnuts ?? were DYN-O-MITE!

If there was a zero star i would have rated it a 0. The experience was awful. I can take bad service and good food or even good service and bad food, but this was the ultimate worst place i have ever been in my life, the food was terrible and the waitress was even worse. We ordered a cheesesteak hoagie which i will post a picture of and chicken fingers and fries and this is what we got and then when we told our waitress the order was wrong and the food was unacceptable she never came back to our table excep

Have been coming to Bob?s since I was in High School ? 50+ yrs. Still wonderful service! Extremely clean! Great food! Family friendly! Had burgers and fries and they hit the spot!!! Did I mention the view? Spectacular view of the Ocean and Boardwalk? this is a real gem of Ocean City history!!!

Came in here for breakfast today, Bob?s has a nice variety of different kinds of breakfast foods to choose from, their eggs are always cooked fantastically. Our waitress, Jill, was very kind and the food was delicious today. Great place to stop at on the boardwalk for breakfast! If you?re not in the mood for a sit down breakfast, they also have amazing fresh and hot donuts you can order at the counter.

I would say it was somewhat good. I thought the sandwich was great. I didn?t like the home fries. I?m not going to lie I was not expecting that many onions on them. Maybe that?s my fault.

Got sat quickly but that's where the our dining experience ended. Our server seemed like she didn't want to be there . The food came out quickly which I thought was odd due to the fact we both ordered eggs Benedict. The eggs were still runny and appeared under cooked. Didn't send it back due to the fact we were on a time crunch. When we were sat there were a lot of tables that were empty but still full of dishes and cups from previous diners.

Best breakfast and donuts in Ocean city a must try place.

Fresh donuts. More varieties of flavors then other place we went cuz Bobs has chocolate here too. We found it by accident when we were looking for bike rental place. Glad we found it. Get a treat then take a bike ride.

The food was great. Came out quickly. The server was nice and the overall vibe was spot on! The chocolate milk was also great. I would definitely recommend that you go here on your trip to Ocean City!

Gotta luv the donuts, plus joyce is queen of customer service

Really painful takeout experience a the pickup window for a luke warm bagel sandwich that was $9.33. (They are cash only!)

have been coming to Bobs grill since I was a kid as part of a family vacation tradition (now in my 20?s) - and not once have I ever had a bad experience or have been disappointed whatsoever! Our waitress Sue is always SO friendly, serves efficiently, and even remembers us from when we were little! The food and atmosphere is always something to look forward to and is simply perfect. Could not recommend this family friendly place any more!!!

Bobs is a great place to stop for breakfast when in OC. Great variety of food options. Coffee is decent and views amazing. Food is hit or miss (depending on who?s back there but during the season food is pretty good) wait staff is also hit or miss but again during the season veterans are usually on staff and pretty solid. Cash only here but they have an ATM on site for convenience. Overall would recommend as a spot to check out while visiting.

Skimpy burger on greasy bun, overpriced at that. Came for donuts and they said they were out of them. Please stop advertising you have fresh hot donuts if you don?t have them. Place looked cruddy.

Phenomenal service, and food. The donuts are usually hot when served (and delicious). They havea Nice variety of fruit juice and other drinks. They also have fresh seasonal fruit that's just right! Absolutely would recommend

Very friendly staff and great food. Perfect portions too! Prices a little higher than you would expect for breakfast. Cash only though, wish they took cards so we could go more(I hardly ever have cash on me anymore). I got French toast and bacon and my daughter got scrambled eggs and toast, all cooked properly and not over/under done.

Stopped here for some doughnuts. They were delicious and were prepared fast. Highly recommend this place!

Serving sizes and options are a little small compared to pricing and other locations nearby. Breakfast sandwhich was simple but good. Service was fast and friendly though.

4.2? I?m really surprised by the average rating. The view from the restaurant was perfect, I won?t complain about that. The servers were nice, and generally friendly. BUT my family ordered a burger, a salad, a kids hotdog and kids chicken finger. It cost $75 (and they don?t accept cards so feel free to eat the atm fee as well) for obviously frozen food. I would easily pay that for good and thoughtfully prepared food but the kitchen barely cared to serve the food with any care. Wilted lettuce. Stale bread.

Very good little place for breakfast on the boardwalk. Nice size so there?s hardly ever a wait. Breakfast fare is same as most on boardwalk with eggs, toast and such. Their homemade doughnuts were excellent. Would be 5 stars but when we arrived for lunch at 11:45, was told that they weren?t ?ready yet? for lunch even though their menu clearly stated lunch from 11:30. Overall a good place to eat.

Super overpriced for mediocre food. Again, SUPER overpriced.

Beautiful location but should have been a clue when we were the only ones sitting down for breakfast. Coffee was tolerable but the chocolate chip pancakes were just pancakes with 5 semi melted chocolate chips thrown on top. Sausage links looked promising but were cold. Won?t ever be back. It was Uncle Bill?s prices without the Uncle Bill?s quality.

The food was great and it was fast. Bob's is special to me since we have been going there as a family since we were kids. Lots of history, great old pictures, and they make donuts right there. The kids loved watching that. Four stars because I watched the waitress complain about having to wait on us, and turned us over to another server. Thankfully the other server was great.

I?m not sure why this place has as many good reviews as it does?My family and I decided to come here because it was very close to our hotel and thought it would be a nice spot for breakfast. The inside is rather dark and honestly felt dirty?like an old dentists office. Our server Audrey seemed inexperienced but she was nice, she got us everything we needed and was prompt. But everything we ordered and received was underwhelming. The toast tasted stale, the eggs were not cooked correctly, the pancakes had a

This was the second time that my son and myself had breakfast here and this time it was disappointing. The food was extremely expensive and not very good but the location is beautiful since it's on the Ocean city boardwalk. The coffee was so bad I actually returned it and changed to juice. I had two eggs over medium and they were too done. My son had creamed dried beef on toast with overcooked home fries. Cash only so I was forced to use their ATM for a $3.75 fee. Hopefully these problems are resolved soon.

We went there in August for breakfast, my wife ordered oatmeal which was very small portion but I ordered creme dried beef when it came out it was so small and only 1 slice of toast for 15dollars and 50 cents we will never go there again what a disgrace

I give it a 3 out of 10 to be more specific. I got a Breakfast Sandwich with Sausage after reading all the positive reviews. You can't choose the bagel or cheese, OK. What really drug down the score was that the bagel was much larger than the egg and sausage patty and it didn?t even taste good. I LOVE a good breakfast sandwich and expected a whole lot more when I?m paying close to $10? Honestly, you?d get a better Breakfast Sandwich at WaWa.

We were here for breakfast, early on a weekday morning. The donuts were really good, but the rest of the food was not. The Creamed Chipped Beef was cold, and the pancakes were just ok. It was also pretty expensive for the quality of the food. Of course, we expected to pay more because it's on the boardwalk, but all 3 people at our table were disappointed with thier meals.

Great breakfast sandwich, made to order

Always eat a few meals here whenever we are in Ocean City. Great for breakfast good for a quick lunch or dinner. You are not going to be knocked off your feet with the menu, but I have never had a bad meal here. The view is spectacular and the staff is always friendly. This place has been here forever and the food is very consistent. If you are looking for something that is not pizza or ice cream stop in at Bobs and have a good meal at a reasonable price.

Super friendly wait staff. Fun, historic atmosphere. Beautiful view. Really good food. My wife and I came for breakfast while on vacation. We loved the boardwalk view and the enjoyable conversation and banter with our waitress, Kristy. Had a wonderful breakfast experience. Happy we visited. Would come again.

This place was just awful. I don?t really have anything else to say. Also my grilled cheese was the size of my pinky?

CASH ONLY ALERT***I will start by saying this restaurant is perfectly suited for some people, but not others. It depends what you value. If you are willing to pay extra to sit down quickly, have elbow room, and be served mediocre food with a smile, this place will suit you well. If you want good food, fair pricing, or are willing to wait a little to get in a place, go somewhere else. In my experience, they offered friendly and reasonably quick service. The food however was mediocre at best (except the do

Sunday morning and I'm walking the boards. I stopped at Bobs for a coffee and donut. Donut was delicious, just out of the fryer. I'm 66 and have been coming to Ocean City since I was 12. This place has always been here and always has been a great place for breakfast. Sun, beach and boardwalk...it doesn't get better.

Been coming to bobs for 19 years, always friendly faces, good food, and great service! I?ve had the same server Susan every time and she?s always been great for our large group! Definitely would recommend

Prices were high for the serving sizes when we sat down for lunch, and food was not special. Also it was not particularly clean. I do recommend the donuts though - we stopped at their window and got 4 hot, fresh donuts ($1ea). Very good.

It was HORRIBLE! EVERYTHING, Including the wait staff. Very ignorant and took 35min just to get coffee and then another hour to get our miniature portioned food. And never saw the waitress again. We had to yell to get someone to give us our bill. OH, and expect to pay around 25-30pp. They should shut down or hire new management and staff

Great experience and environment. Service is very welcoming and pleasant to interact with. Building is in a great location - sitting upstairs gets a great ocean breeze which compliments the well served meal. Give it a try and ask to sit upstairs.

The fried donuts are amazing! The breakfast food is the best! You can enjoy all of this while watching the ocean & it's right on the Ocean City NJ boardwalk. Nothing is better than eatting a warm fresh donut, drinking coffee, & watching the ocean in the morning!

If you're looking for a heavenly dining experience that seamlessly blends gastronomic indulgence with breathtaking vistas, and OceanView Delights, this is the place to be. Nestled along the picturesque coastline, this gem has carved a niche for itself by offering not only a delectable menu but also an awe-inspiring view of the boundless ocean. As a self-proclaimed foodie and nature enthusiast, I found myself spellbound by this remarkable combination.

I have eaten at Bob's many times over the years but breakfast yesterday was the last time !!! The food wasn't great ! The server was sweet and the coffee Luke warm. The real problem was using the bathroom after consuming the meal.Had I gone into that bathroom prior to eating, I would have run out !!! Hadn't been cleaned In ages. Disgusting!! Where Is the owner/ mgt ??? Imagine the rest of the place!!! You need to clean the bathroom every day !!!!!

First time in ocean city. We ate here tonight. I got the crab cakes and new England clam chowder, both amazing! I was wanting crab cakes since we got down here and was skeptical of where I should go. So happy I went here! My husband got the fish and chips, also amazing! We ordered the fried shrimp for an appetizer, my whole family loved them! Now, the service was a bit lacking in...manners.. both mine and my husbands meal was suppose to come with a salad, I had to remind the waitress that we get salads...

We go there for breakfast a few times every year. They have quick sandwiches and donuts, both are great, but the staff is a bit young and it unfortunately it turns into some small mistakes. I am sure as the season progresses they will get their act together, but prior to the 4th it equated to some longer wait times and small mistakes.

In one sitting this restaurant managed to provide the worst coffee, pancakes, eggs, sausage, and cream chipped beef we have ever had. The plates were tiny, $17 cream chipped beef on a single slice of toast. My 2yr old son refused to eat the chocolate chip pancakes they were so bad. It's one thing to be overpriced in a resort town, but I feel like I was just mugged it was so expensive.

Stopped here for breakfast before hitting the boardwalk. Coffee was hot and juice was cold. Nothing overly special except for the waffles. They were fluffy and had a great flavor.

Manager & Staff is unprofessional Rude horrible Customer service! Came here for breakfast 7/4/2020 . Others that came after us were seated ahead of us. They waited until we were last until we said something then they sat us. Didn?t even take our drink orders. Too busy with everybody else that came after us. They had their breakfast served before we even got drinks. Then when asked for manager said I don?t care it?s busy! We Left immediately ! Then as leaving the ignorant waitress said you try doing my job

Food was decent but just letting everyone know we ate there this morning and literally nothing was wiped down. Watched them take hot sauce from our table my husband used and bring it to another table without cleaning it. We brought our own alcohol wipes to sanitize everything. A shame really... cleaning is not a hard thing to do.

Had a family breakfast in the upper level. No wait. Quick service. Most of the food disappeared. Just a little carryout. Our 9-year old grandson had chocolate milk, chocolate chip pancakes, and fruit cup. Think this covers all the food groups. The rest of us had normal adult healthy food: eggs, bacon, pancakes, butter, syrup, coffee. Place had a nice open air feel. Something fun to do on a rainy morning.

The donuts are always fresh and delicious. Not only are the workers sweet but so are the sticky buns! I'm an early riser and they are always open daily at 7am. Not to mention, the bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich is by far my favorite thing to eat, along with the sticky bun.

Year after year I go to Bob's to find excellent service smiling faces and great food. They make you feel right at home.

I don?t come down to Ocean City very often but whenever I do I always stop by Bob?s. The foods amazing and their staff really makes you feel at home. It?s in a great location and I will never not stop by Bob?s at least once while I?m in Ocean City

There is no better place to eat on the Boardwalk in Ocean City than Bob's, great breakfasts, great burgers and killer fish and chips, all classic American fare. Great, friendly service and in the morning, man, they make the world's best sticky buns, truly amazing! Highly recommend!

I do not usually complain, but our service this morning was terrible! We sat for 10 minutes without anyone coming to us. Finally, i flagged a waitress who gave us menus. After another 7 minutes, i flagged a second waitress who took our drink order. Both promised our server would he right with us. During this time, we tried fo flag another, who ended up being our server. She didn?t even make eye contact. Continued to bring stuff to other tables, including one that was JUST seated. We finally went to the man

Horrible customer service, came here for lunch and after we checked out the server told us it?s cash only. They didn?t mention it upfront and after I asked the owner why, he said it is ?to preserve the business?. After struggling with an on-site ATM, which does not accept neither credit or debit cards, I was sent on a quest to find a working ATM in Ocean City on a Saturday. Before that a server mentioned that she had venmo, but the manager didn?t want to deal with it. After an hour of unsuccessful ATM searc

Bob's was good. We rented bikes before we ate. New Jersey has terrible tasting water! And I was just a little disappointed with the food and a second glass of orange juice tasted watered down.

Amazing donuts. Window is never crowded. If you are staying down in that neck of town, there is no need to go to browns or oves for donuts. Bobs are on the same level. Love it. Wish I could find these at home.

Good food, definitely recommend. The Donuts are as good as always, and the hot sandwiches are consistently great. Would go here with my family every day, keep up the good work!

$3.50 for a small plastic dixie cup of orange juice that was the large size, the small must?ve been a shot glass... should?ve stopped there. Eggs benedict were hard fried, home fries were flavorless. Was hoping for a good breakfast but definitely didn?t find that here.

So so. I understand the plight of restaurants because of Covid, but something is just off. Cash only business is sketchy. Period. This place needs a makeover. There are nasty, faded pictures hanging all over the restaurant. All dirty and crooked. If you are unable to maintain them, take them down. I get the dedication to OC history, but this just does a disservice to it. The food. Tiny portions, sloppy, and just not great. Again, understand everything going on with Covid, but if you want us to come back af

Awesome experience at Bob?s Grille! Good food, great service and wonderful staff. They turned our rainy day into a beautiful time! Definitely will make a return visit. Joyce is very helpful and accommodating! Thanks so much!

my wife?s sunny side up egg was so raw the egg white was completely runny and the yoke had no firmness to it. When asked to please make properly as this entire egg was raw, they brought her back the same egg MICROWAVED well done - no runniness now at all - so not sunny side up. This was our first dining experience out in 4 months due to quarantine. No signs on where to sit. Slow service once you land an outside table BEHIND the building. Cash only. No napkins. Raw eggs then microwaved eggs. My Benedict was

Worst restaurant I have ever been to ever. The food was extremely low quality. The turkey dinner was just turkey cold cuts and my friends well done burger was completely raw. It was also very expensive. There are several restaurants right there on the boardwalk that are better quality for less money.

Convenient, but comes with price. I had 2 eggs hash browns coffee, my partner had 3 eggs toast bacon coffee. $32.00. Then 5.00 tip. I kid you not. 37.00 for 2 people..

We LOVE stopping by here when we come to OC! We've been living out of state for a number of years, so VERY happy to find BOB'S GRILL here still. GREAT ?? service, AWESOME people and food!! Thank you and we will see you soon and often!! Love Bob, Dana & Zuzu

We went for lunch. Food was ok, however it came out in stages, some were done before others got their food. I was done with my fries before my BLT was rdy. Beach prices as expected, but cash only??? Very inconvenient ... Staff was courteous and friendly. For the price and quality there are much better options.

Pancakes and french toast were very good. Farmers omelette was stuffed, but devoid of any flavor/completely under seasoned. Will give them credit, food was out crazy fast. Cash only.

These are truly the best donuts on the boardwalk! How is possible I?ve been missing it for so long!! Nothing like their plane cinnamon sugar donuts before doing any exercise.

Great location on the boardwalk. Only had breakfast and it was excellent. Best breakfast on the boardwalk. Highly recommended. They also make fresh made donuts. Yummy!

Great place for breakfast, all the usual eggs, bacon, pancakes, etc. also has homemade donuts. Service was great on a Saturday morning around 8am. Right on the boardwalk - thanks Bob?s!

Pork roll egg and cheese is the best way to start your day! Not to mention the amazing donuts. Bring everyone you know, it?s always worth it!!! Will definitely come again!

Always a good experience at Bobs. A staple of Ocean city and rightly so. Their breakfast is amazing, portions are perfect and it comes out hot and fast.

Excellent place and in a great location! The staff is very welcoming and the food is great! Perfect for my friends and I to grab some quick breakfast before we start our day at the beach:)

Located at 14th street, it is one of the biggest restaurants on the boardwalk. Breakfast was really good. There will be a wait but it moves quickly. Bob's is CASH ONLY! There are ATM's inside but they carry a $6 fee.

Absolutely stellar service here. I have made my way on many boardwalk restuarants and this one is definitely up there. The food, the service, everything was great, and in an ideal location as well. Cannot wait to be back there, great for family and friends.

Cash only. Cash only. Bob's is a cash only eatery. Now that we're clear about paying one's check: the menu is basic breakfast fare, easy to order by number. We've eaten here often enough to come to expect what we've seen every time--good service, fast turn around on our orders, and hot plates.

Ate here on 07/05/2021, the food was mediocre at best, to think a burger would come with fries is too hard of a concept. My friend had a salad and it took 45 minutes for his food to come out, and then they forgot to give him silverware. There was also a roach climbing on the fridge.

With so many great places to eat on the Boardwalk, skip Bob's. We had a ceasar salad with stale iceberg lettuce, packaged dressing and a cold piece of grilled chicken for a ridiculous $13. Also had a very non interesting hamburger and what seemed like Cysco French fries. There is nostalgia here, but the food and service are quite poor. Credit cards are not accepted, a great inconvenience. Bob's alternative is an ATM with a $3.50 service fee.

DO NOT ORDER THE SPANISH OMELETTE! I scraped off the top layer of aged HOT salsa and tried to eat it but soon found that the inside was stuffed with the same aged, from a jar, HOT salsa. No where on the menu did it mention the spanish omelette was spicy. The waitress was very sweet and returned it in exchange for a bacon and cheese omelette. The bacon and cheese omelette was edible. The massive amount of cheddar cheese and very little bacon was disappointing considering breakfast for two, coffee and side of

Excellent Food and Service right on the boardwalk!

There were 3 of us, two had cheeseburgers which were ok, but my grilled chicken sandwich was pathetic, small amount of dry chicken

Food is great, service is friendly, and atmosphere is lovely! Every visit to the shore includes breakfast EVERY DAY at BOBS! We love it. It's cash only, but there is an ATM in restaurant.

The food and the service was great! Very nice and friendly waitstaff! The only problem is that they don't accept credit/debit cards. They do have an atm at the front of the restaurant for your convenience though.
