Took donuts for friends out of town and they were happy. I had the classic buttermilk and it was good. The blueberry crumble didn?t have any crumble on top.
It was alright, had the mango margarita cream brulee and would have like if it was more potent of both. The little marg squeezer had great flavor on it's own but was quite lost in the donut. Wasn't too sweet but also like trying to be like that too much, could have actually used a lil more sweetness for the mango flavor to pop I think
I am not a huge fan of donuts. I absolutely had to try these. Exciting flavors. While I wanted to try many of them I opted for just one. I do fly through here at least once a month so I have time to try others. The cost was $5.25 for the apple cider apple fritter. A little high? Maybe. It's definitely a specialty donut. It has more of a dense center which I actually like. The size is larger than what I would call a "normal" donut. I'll definitely try more in the future. One at a time.
It's nestled on the DE concourse side of the airport, conveniently right after security. The donuts are made fresh and pairs very well with their coffee. I had the pumpkin pecan old-fashioned and my friend had the chocolate bergamot old-fashioned, both were delightful!
Too expensive. $6 donut? $6 coffee? This is at least 50% higher than normal prices. Fritter was too dense and not flavorful, not a nice fried donut you?d expect. The coffee is good, but there?s cheaper coffee right across from them at Portland Coffee Roasters. Staff did a good job, courteous and fast.
Grabbed a chai tea latte and Party OG donut before my flight. Chai was good, not too spicy and mix was good. Donut was really sweet, almost too sweet, but can appreciate the mix with horchata. Amicable staff and served pretty quickly with a few people in line in front of me.
Honestly, I always try to pass by here without stopping, today they had samples. Call me a sucker, walked away with a box of their donuts. Staff was great! The orange donut holes were fresh, light and delicious! I won?t be walking by in the future! Great gift to take with you or treat yourself!
Very nice donuts. I?m glad I can taste them before departure. Thank u.
Great location in the airport, inside security on the D/E side. They usually have several vegan donuts available, and they usually run a discount during the last couple hours of their day to sell what they have left. It's not cheap, but they are quality donuts!
If you're a fan of brioche donuts, these are your donuts. They only have a few selection and not a large variety like other brand. But when they're good at what they are doing, everyone of their donuts is tasty and unique.
Matcha crumble was amazing, had a glittery razzle dazzle with it! Yum!!! Staff was awesome!
"Great donuts with lots of variety. It's exciting to see more local food and dessert options popping up inside the newly designed PDX airport.
Stopped before getting on my flight and got 4 donuts for $22 ?? but I figured it?s airport prices so whatever and I was interested in these flavors. The raspberry old fashioned caught my eye so I got that, Apple fritter, coconut cream, and the OG. I came to do review on raspberry one - taste was soo good but my gosh! It was soooo greasy it was impossible to eat ?? I see by other reviews that it?s been a prob with that donut in particular. All in all good and I will stop by again when I?m there but I wanted
Interesting selection. Honey Lavender Matcha Latte and a Honey Lavender Brioche Ring.
We only tried Blue Star coffee and both of us were very disappointed ?? A simple 16 oz latte in spite having an extra shot, it lacked the aroma and flavor of coffee. My latte tasted like milk with a hint of coffee. My wife was so unimpressed that she gave hers up after only a few sips. And don?t get me started on the price!!
Got blue star donuts this morning. It was so quick, and everyone was so friendly. I got the chocolate bergamot donut and an old fashioned. They are so yummy, and the coffee is awesome, makes me miss living in the PNW!!!
Got buttermilk old fashioned donut and passion fruit cocoa nib donuts. It was good. Good and quick service. Good drip coffee at this place. They had a lot of variety. All donuts look tempting!
Super cute space in the new airport! Classic good blue star favorites, I was happy to see the passion fruit cacao nib and blueberry chocolate bourbon flavors. Coffee is mid and you can only get 16 or 20oz which I found weird. They don?t seem to be well stocked in coffee products. Coffee was mid as well, i don?t think they employ trained baristas or have a big emphasis on coffee I think they train them up on site. I wish I got my donut and then went to stumptown for coffee. Cute addition in the airport thoug
Great and unique donuts while waiting for my flight and price is not through the roof! Always a staple now whenever I fly out of PDX!
Second time now that I?ve tried to get a couple of my favorite Portland donuts on my way out of town. Both times they were basically out by 11:30am (only 2-3 seasonal options available, none of the classics). This might be a successful business model in Portland itself, but it won?t work at a prime airport location. Management needs to get its act together and learn how to properly forecast demand.
The Blue Star Donuts at the PDX is just as good as the other locations in Portland based on my experience. I visited 15 minutes before closing and there were three options left. I chose the raspberry rose pistachio donut. It was filled with sweet and tart raspberry that paired well with the rose and pistachio. I would definitely come back in a heartbeat for any of their offerings.
I used to really like Blue Star Donuts, they have interesting flavors and their donuts were well done. Yesterday I had a Raspberry Rosemary old fashioned and an Apple Fritter. The Raspberry was tasty but extremely greasy. The Apple Fritter was tasty and not as greasy. Don't think I'll be paying Blue Star donut prices for donuts this greasy, just not worth it.
I placed an order for two donuts and waited nearby for my order to be prepared. Unfortunately, the donuts I had paid for were mistakenly given to another customer, and they happened to be the last of that variety. Although I opted to try different donuts as a replacement, they did not meet my expectations. Despite the oversight, I left a 20% tip. It was disappointing that the mix-up occurred, especially since the original donuts I ordered were no longer available.
Friendly and efficient staff Towards the end of the day, they do a buy one get one free deal Got two donuts ?? for $5.25
I absolutely love Blue Star as a whole but what stuck out to me about this particular location is that they actually do something I?ve been yearning for which is SAMPLES. Today on my return flight to Portland, I snagged a donut for the road and they had put out a plate of small pieces of the pumpkin old fashioned (which is SO good btw) Why this is important to me and review worthy? In full transparency and in my personal opinion because I know that every one?s taste buds are different, I believe blue star
Absolutely delicious! Raspberry rosemary was to die for! Og and cherry brule were pretty good as well.
Good staff and tasty donuts, many kinds of selection. Only complain is their donuts are pricy. All of them are more than $3.
You must try these donuts. These are the best donuts that I have EVER had. Amazing flavor combinations and options, there is something for everyone. And a major plus, these donuts don?t leave you feeling gross because they are made with quality ingredients and cooked correctly. So impressed.
A well known, donut shop where one can grab something flavorful for breakfast. They have a decent selection of unique, gourmet donuts to choose from and most will be able to find something to tickle their fancy. In addition, coffee, bottled water, and other beverages are available for purchase. This location is in the unsecured section of PDX (before security) so all drinks will have to be consumed prior to proceeding to gates. Prices are also high but relative to the standard up charge of most airport pur
The peppermint donut was incredible! But it was also almost $6, so 4 stars
Great service by staff. Ordered the raspberry and rosemary donut, and chocolate old fashioned. Definitely tasty flavors, yet the oil was heavy on the outer coating and soaked the wrapping paper. Unsure if this was the norm?
Amazing service!!!! We were having a stressful morning and I made a mistake on our order. The staff here was more than helpful in fixing my mistake and went out of their way to make our day. We already love Blue Star Donuts, but the staff at the airport really made the difference for us today. Thank you, we will be sure to stop by again on our next flight out of PDX!!!!!
Lots of different donuts to try. Can't say it's better than any other donut shop.
Pre-packaged donut holes only until airport renovation is complete. Disappointed that I couldn't eat fresh, hot donuts but happy I found a convenient option to bring on the plane and share with friends at home.
Omg love these Donuts ?? I have never had these until I visited my son that lives in Portland he highly recommend getting some I got a dozen of their recommended donuts man they were awesome Highly recommend if you visit Portland Michael Roop
Best doughnuts in Portland, maybe anywhere? Wanted to try these before leaving, and happy to find one in the airport. These doughnuts were very good. Great flavor. Wish I could have more.
Donuts were chewy, maybe stale? not great. Service was good. 2 small boxes of donuts between 7 ppl and lots left over.
I?ve been working at PDX doing construction on the new terminal. Last Wednesday I dropped my wallet near the Blue Star. I didn?t realize until my next break, 4 hrs later. In that span of time the staff found the wallet and got it to the port of Portland lost and found. I was able to get it back with everything inside as I left it, including $80 cash. When I went to thank them they gave me a donut! I can?t think of kinder more honest people deserving of praise on the internet.
Sunday service is trash. Hours of operation should be in accordance with flight operation times in the am. This is the most economical move for a business in an airport. Why miss revenue? Oh and please answer this question. Love the ??s...just need to put forth some effort to meet the customers needs.
First time at Blue Star and it?s mid at best. I would have been more pleased with a $1 Safeway doughnut than the $5.50 one here
Tasty but be warned, the topping for the donuts is not necessarily solid as it looks. I bought a box for my coworkers back home, put it in my backpack and the sugary topping got all over my books and other things. Definitely a headache to clean. Also these donut holes are pretty pricey for what they are, but so is everything at the airport.
Donuts are good, but expensive. The kiosk has a very limited selection too. They only had one kind in a small box. Every other flavor was only available in a larger quantity. They also only have donut holes (no regular donuts). The worker was very nice and, again, the donuts are delicious!
Great place to grab a Portland donut on the way in or out of town.
One of my best donuts ever . Thank you, Blue Star for my creme brulee white chocolate cranberry!!!
Great donuts and lovely customer service.
We got to the airport early specifically to get donuts but they were closed when we arrived. Their posted sign said they closed at 7pm but they were already closed when we got there at 6:15pm. We?ll keep our fingers crossed they?re open the next time we come through.
Service was great but I was super super disappointed in what I got. The coffee tasted like bad diner coffee and the donut holes we got were...stale? Crumbly, dry, but with a wet messy topping. I'm sure they're limited in what they can do from a cart vs. full store, so hoping to come back when they're reopened and have fresh donuts.
Donuts are delicious. soft and sweet. The employees are super friendly
Friendly, upbeat and fun morning staff! Thanks for being kind.
The perfect way to end my weekend in Portland. I got the old fashioned donut and I wish I had gotten a dozen to take home.
Please don't waste your money. The donuts are always dry, flavorless or overly sweet and rich. There is rarely a happy medium. I have to wonder if it's just this location. I have had a donut that was being transported from the bakery to another location and it was great! Unfortunately both times I have been to the airport location I have had to suffer or waste my food. We've tried 5-7 flavors and I'm sad to report there is nothing exciting here.
Great donuts served by friendly staff. If you like strawberry get the strawberry shortcake. If you like chocolate you can't go wrong either. I love the donut hole sizes too!
It was the best thing to find out there is a blue star in the airport. These are some tasty donuts. They are not airy donuts that are basically bread?s version of cotton candy, these are some real thick and hearty flavor full donuts. Every flavor I have tried has made me happy. Blue star may not come in a pink box, but they don?t need it. The guy behind the counter was also helpful with recommendations.
Good location in the airport to grab a donut before or after your trip! Had an O.G. and a buttermilk, both excellent traditional donuts. Little drier than I'm used to (type of dough they use), but great flavor and filling! Super friendly staff, prices are decent for a quick bite at the airport.
Easily my favorite donut shop in Portland. The raised and cake donuts have superb texture and flavor. The creative toppings are rich and decadent. Perfect spot to get one last taste of Portland before heading home.
Amazingly tasty donuts that will melt in your mouth. They cost more than the typical donut but have better quality ingredients and you can taste it. Portland airport location is temporarily closed though.
Flew to Portland on Alaska and wanted to get some gourmet donuts, but not able to reach Concourse E from inside ??. We need to make donuts more accessible. Heard the renovation won't be completed until 2025.
There's more then one donut shop in town that knows how to make some great donut combinations. And yes they have ones with bacon.
LOVE Blue Star donuts but do not plan your trip around the airport location, I honestly can't remember the last time it was open. Always has a sign saying out for lunch, afternoon, evening, weekend, weekday, doesn't matter.
Makes a great gift on the go! They come in a lovely box. Or you can get the donut holes for yourself with a cup of coffee. The flavors are fantastic.
Can only give 3 stars. Opening a cart at the airport with no fresh donuts , only boxed donut holes is a total letdown in my opinion. At least have 3-5 staple donuts there on hand, made fresh.
Great for last-minute donuts at the airport. Go earlier for a much larger selection. Went at ~7 pm and they had 2 non-vegan and 2 vegan options left. This is before the security checkpoint and I had no problem going through with a box full of donuts.
The Mayans foretold of a day when the full service blue star would return. UNTIL THAT DAY this cart serves as a reminder that one day we will be able to buy a full-size blueberry bourbon basil on our way to be fondled by the nation's happiest TSA.
Just had my first Blue Star donut! I was not impressed! At all! Maybe the "Apple Cider Fritter" I had was sub-par to standard, but...it wasn't that remarkable. Unlike the sugar rush which was/is pretty out of this world...I'll give them another try another day, but I sure don't see why folks are so fond of them at this point.
Service was great. This shop serves novelty flavors, so selection very different and more expensive than a neighborhood donut shop. Apple cider fritter I had was tasty, although I prefer less glaze.
Loved the Chocolate ganache donut and the OG. Very yummy. However, this was at the airport location and I could tell it wasn't the freshest possible version. These donuts frsh are the bomb! Some very interesting flavors.
Not a donut person, until now. What heinous f*kry is this. Needed coffee and they had Stumptown so as I'm waiting to buy coffee I'm smelling the aromas of the different selections and my bionic nose is like...you must bring this closer. Ok, nose, you often do me a solid, I will get you one to bring close. So i buy one of the 8 possibilities that have enough interesting ingredients that nose would be happy. I almost bought the vegan mexi chocolate or the raspberry rosemary but I picked the Cointreau creme b
After reading several reviews, and taste testing 6 different doughnuts, I felt they were good but not fabulous. I am more of a Pip's doughnut fan. Totally worth checking it out at the airport location.
These are really good donuts. Don?t worry about the calories just so you don?t eat one every day. There is a nice quiet space behind the shop where you can enjoy your treat.
Tried the blueberry bourbon donut (vegan option) before catching a flight. The consistency of the cake dough was perfect and the flavour was on point. Would definitely try other flavours and other locations.
Wow! I'm not a doughnut lover, but everyone told me i had to go to Blue Star when I go to Portland. So, I find myself at PDX on National Doughnut Day, so....what the hell. OMG it was amazing!! I had the Raspberry Rosemary - the glaze is a beautiful dark pink and tastes like fresh raspberries with just a hint of rosemary. I now want to try them all. Only downside is that it's 9:30AM and over half were already sold out. Get there early.
Blue Star is great but really, really expensive for a donut. It's also not so mind blowing that it's worth it. With that said I'll pay for it every once in a while but not very often. Blueberry basil bourbon is my favorite.
I went to blue star again this morning. And there is this woman in front of me that looks like she can't decide what she wants so I made her a few recommendations and she bought a couple doughnuts. After she payed and left the lady behind the counter asked me what she could get me. And she handed me my doughnuts and said have a great day. So I got free doughnuts. I asked her why and she said because we love people like you. That just put a huge smile on my face. So if your ever in PDX stop by blue star doug
Delicious cake donut, not too heavy. Try the lemon poppy seed, it's the best! Regret not buying other flavors. I'm sure they are all tasty!
#Trash Calling these donuts is only done with a lot of creative licensing.
Huge shout out to the guy working today. Only coffee at PDX airport that was open. Guy was super nice even though he was alone and getting slammed with orders!
The donuts are an amazing variety with so many choices. The staff is kind and helpful in assisting you in what you want. They also have a good sense of humor.
Favorite donut place in Portland and now in PDX! I still want the Tokyo location back!
High-end doughnuts and coffee. See pics!
Very easy ordering with samples of all the Donuts in the case with descriptions and prices so you aren't wondering and by the time you get to register you are ready to order, and they put the whole box together with a handle! Everyone on the plane next to me was jealous
The doughnuts are great - no doubt about that! ...but they're aren't inexpensive. Granted most airport food costs a bit more, but fancy doughnuts like these are going to cost you.
Wonderful barista was practically the only employee in the airport at 4am this morning during the ice storm...said he was happy to be there and made my otherwise chaotic morning. Thanks man!
Over priced Donuts and mediocre taste. I tried Old Fashion buttermilk Donut and was not impressed. However the did like their coffee.
Amazing selection of tasty donuts. The texture of the donuts are perfect and the flavors are distinct and unique but never overwhelming.
Lemon poppy old fashioned
Best old fashioned buttermilk donut anywhere. The other donuts are good, but not great. This is the donut you need to try.
Delicious donuts and great service. They don't fall apart when you cram them violently into your carry on bag while in line for the TSA.
I went there and asked if they had any vegan donuts (19/05/2019). A very kind young man not only told me they had some but made sue I tried all of them. Thank you for making my day ; )
