Blackline Coffee & Donuts

Looked for coffee in this area and found this place; since then, been here a few times. We often look for a place for coffee OR a place for donuts so it is great to find a place with good coffee AND good donuts in one place! Recent visits in June tried the monthly menu including smores donut and blueberry shaken espresso. Donuts are very creative (with brioche dough) and the place also has a nice friendly neighborhood coffee shop feel. Want to make it here when we can!

Hidden gem! Cute and delicious donuts that are actually not as sweet as they look which is a huge compliment. Great variety and I still have many I need to try but so far I'm not disappointed. The customer service has been great from the guys and they always greet with a friendly smile. Overall a great little place to get unique donuts and coffee! The outdoor seating area is great during this weather and even though it's next to a busy area, it's quietly relaxing inside and out.

For the last few months we?ve been trying out local coffee shops Sat and Sunday morning so this week we went to Blackline for the first time. It was a nice surprise, from the seating outside to the open bakery inside, everything was great. Ordered the Blackbear coffee, which is an espresso shot with milk, honey and cinnamon. We also tried a few donut holes and other items. Everything was fantastic. It was a pretty busy Sunday as people kept coming in, the staff was great and handled the orders fast. Def

I?m usually loyal to my usual coffee order, but their creative monthly menu of drinks and treats makes it so exciting to try something new. We stumbled upon this place and the coffee a d donuts were incredible. Be sure to get the glaze OG which is amazing. There is a small counter that you can sit at and watch them hand make the donuts. They have a small selection which means each of them are great.

As long as I?m living in htx I?m coming here every week. I got the Classy AF topped with blueberry jam. The icing to their donuts is so rich. The bread is fluffy. It?s worth every penny and tax.

Don't come here if you want the burnt coffee stuff you can get on all the corners around town or a standard crispy donut. Great tasting drip coffee but also coffee drinks that don't disappoint. Brown Bear is a must try either warm or cold. Their unique donuts have a different twist but always provide a great flavor. I don't require gluten free but their gluten free cake donuts are AMAZING. Friendly atmosphere for hanging out to work or visit. Plus easy grab and go. Love supporting local here.

Love love love this place!! Has been a new go to for me and my husband! I usually get the stick season which is a matcha with banana milk and brown sugar. To me it tastes just like banana bread and I love it!! My husband is a big coffee guy and he really loves it here. He has gotten a shandy lemonade, cereal milk latte, and the brown bear and he has never been disappointed!! Last time we also tried the jalape?o cheese kolache and it was so so yummy!!

The donuts were anything but basic. The soft, pillowy brioche dough was really outstanding. I also tried the goat cheese with everything seasoning scone?the inside was moist and the outside was well-seasoned. The cardamom coffee reminded me of a chai latte. Would love to come back here. Seating inside is a little limited but there?s a long high top for those looking to use their laptop. There are a few benches outside. Seriously high-end donuts. The flavors are unique and delicious. For example, the tiramisu donut had a stronger tiramisu flavor than many Italian restaurant tiramisus I've had. The donut texture is the perfect dense yet fluffy chewiness. Best of all, they don't make me feel gross after eating them like other donut shops do. Lastly, the drinks are delicious. Interesting place. Had decent coffee for a decent price. I tried the basic b and it was basically a vanilla iced coffee for 5.50, which isn't a bad deal. If you're like me, a person for whom 'coffee' is life, or someone whose mood each day depends on whether the morning coffee was good or not, I can assure you that you'll love this place. One cup is never enough; I always order more. Even though I've never sat in the caf? because I always order delivery, the taste remains consistently good over time. My favorite is the Lavender Haze, but other coffees and even the donuts are delicious too.

So glad we stopped by to try it out. We had the tiramisu, banana nut cake donut, and goat scone along with matcha tea and cereal milk latte. All were soo good! I was excited to try this place because I?m desperate for a good ?fancy? donut place in CL. This place is okay but not great. They forgot one of our donuts and we had to go back in. The donut dough is sort of flavorless and cake like. Maybe it needs salt? (I would never say that because I don?t like salt but yeah.) Super nice people. Nor a fan of the donuts or how long they take to get them. 4 people ahead of me in line and a 30 minute visit to get donuts. The donuts are the think bready yeasty kind (think Kroger or HEB donuts) and the toppings don't stay on.

If you are going to a big-name coffee shop you are doing it wrong. This place is a hidden gem for both coffee and sweet treats. The coffee was smooth and didn't taste burned and the beans come from a local coffee roaster. If you don't drink coffee, they have plenty of other choices. The donuts are cooked right in front of you if you get there early enough. Hands down, I'll be back.

Only problem I had was the temperature of the oil might not have been hot enough, as the donut soaked up more oil than expected. Dough was also overworked, as the texture was heavy. Just ordered from DoorDash at 2pm which was super late, and unfortunately they were out of the Og?s so I went ahead and put down donut mystery of the month and they were so sweet to put a note in saying they were sorry they were out of OG?s! I work nearby in a very large government facility, in this place is my go-to. They have better coffee than summer Moon, and better donuts than parlor. I do have to go a bit out of my way but it's worth every minute. I highly recommend the kolaches. They use more of a brioche dough than your typical kolaches. And the donuts are at least one or two steps above everything else, again using a brioche base. I've never had to wait very long for either my coffee or my food.

If I could give more stars I would. First, the staff is always very friendly, and quick. Second, this is the best coffee I have had on this side of town, easily contends with some of the best shops in Houston as well (Tenfold, Agora, Catalina, etc.). Finally what really sets it apart is the baked goods are SENSATIONAL. I haven?t had anything from the bakery I haven?t liked. I used to go every Saturday. I had to order GF donuts online in the morning bc they would be sold out by the time I got there in the afternoon. Since I was a regular, I loaded up a gift card for myself, but come to find out, it couldn't be used online unless you are ordering bulk, though Blackline says otherwise. I asked for a refund and they wouldn't give it. Well, I'm no longer a regular.

This place is like 10x more expensive than a regular donut shop for food that's not even better quality or flavor. Amazing place but two complaints. One the kolaches with the hand made candied jalape?o is bomb, except the sausage. The sausage is cut in half and you can?t eat through the thick casing. Need a higher quality meat here. Two, the coffee needs to be of a slightly higher quality and the shots need to be pulled at the correct speed. I?ve had shots that have been pulled too slow and burned on top of an already too dark roast, and a too fast pull with watery coffee. It?s small fixes, but if they dedicate a little
