Best donuts in the area! Their donuts are incredible in flavor. They?re light, fluffy, and delicious - my kids request them every week! Our favorites are vanilla glaze, everything donut, and the Apple fritter. Sometimes they have savory tarts which are SO good. We especially love the pride donuts they have every June. Blackbird employees are always so friendly and welcoming as well, which is also appreciated. Blackbird also delivers through DoorDash, and the donuts are always delivered fresh. The Newton loc
Ordered some donuts ahead of time because I was in the area. These donuts are sooooo good! I had the cinnamon sticky bun donut and a bite of the salted toffee one, and i was BLOW AWAY! The texture of the donut alone was amazing. Never mind the toppings and the fillings. A little on the pricey side, but they are good. It's a must try.
The donuts are great. The coffee is great. The barrista on duty Sunday , August 11, 2024 not the friendliest guy in America . They have no bathroom . They have plenty of meter parking . Place was clean .
Love Blackbird Donuts. Recently bought a whole variety of donuts and didnt have a singular complaint. Their dedication to quality and to serving their customers is amazing and their willlingness to post about important social matters makes me even prouder to be a customer.
Blackbird Doughnuts is a classic doughnut shop experience. Inside you will find all of the classic doughnuts, plus maybe one or two interesting seasonal doughnuts. The coffee is what you would expect, or respectable quality with a modest selection that you would find at most other doughnut shops. Blackbird stops short of a five simply because I have been to many other doughnut shops which are pushing the envelope in one way or another and Blackbird just doesn't seem to fit that profile. I can name at least
I heard a lot of good things about blackbird doughnuts but I was very disappointed first thing I bought 4 doughnuts it came to $15.90 there isn't a doughnut out there that's worth paying that much for. Second the doughnuts were on the smaller side. And finally I don't understand the chewy doughnut and the flavor was just ok. I have to say that I will not be back.
I asked for a ube latte and she just gave me an ice coffee and told me it actually doesn?t turn purple and I?ve been to the one in Watertown they make it good everytime. Always turns out purple! The Lady said she could remake it but it would turn out brown again. The best she could do was put the cold foam on top but I can?t drink coffee so now I just wasted eight dollars for nothing so I?m just letting everybody know do not for the love of God go to the one in Newton because this is my fourth time going t
Super excited Blackbird opened in Newton! I?ve been a customer for years in Boston. Happy to have great doughnuts outside the city...finally! Yummy and lots of unique flavors. The everything doughnut is actually so good and tastes just like a bagel...seems weird on the surface for sure! I love how Blackbird has beverages like coffee! Newton Centre lacks local coffee shops so it?s awesome to have this option!! I visited on a Saturday morning and found the staff very friendly and helpful! I?ll obviously be
Food: The Blackbird was a sweet vanilla cake doughnut with glaze. The cake was sweet, not too overly sweet and the glaze was perfect. The cake didn't suit my taste though and I much rather preferred the Vanilla Glaze doughnut, which was the same, except with brioche instead of vanilla cake. I look forward to trying their other varieties, but will probably stick to the brioche doughnuts. Atmosphere: They had chill music like Hey Jude playing over the speakers. Service: It was fast, friendly, and efficient.
Stay away if you're on the diet because they are so very hard to resist. (It's a compliment) I am going back there immediately after work. Again! This is not a doughnut place. it's a hidden revelation. I believe i just had two of the best doughnuts in my entire life. Almost like my mom used to make and there is no higher praise. Sweet, but not the cheap supermarket kind of sweet. This is quality you can taste immediately and if you have a hot beverage - it's the best experience.
I want this morning this place i order glazed donut black guy gave me some kind of donut. I ask I order glazed why you give me this donut, he goes we dont have it. I said you shoud say that the first place.he is mad and rude make me wait longer even to get my coffee very rude guy ????????????
Tried these donuts several times as a treat. There are some neat flavor ideas BUT overall do not taste as good as they sound. The only one I could imagine re-ordering is Salted Toffee. Most donuts are extra soft and doughy, a bit rubbery, it's different but not delightful. These days the product is mediocre sorry to report.
Best donuts in Mass!!! You like great and exciting donuts than go no place else. Coming with great flavors like stadium nacho all the way to pbj!!! My 3 year old is also obsessed and will not eat anywhere else!!! Highly recommended!!! Staff is amazing and always friendly. It?s nice going into a place where the staff is in a good mood and want to be there!!!
Enjoyed an everything doughnut and a chocolate frosted doughnut. Shop was clean and had easy parking options all around the downtown area. Great area to walk around, dip in and out of lots of shoppes/restaurants.
I can't stand business that do not just know how to work, doa good job and shut their mouths. This company deserves what ever bad karma they get forsupporting INDUCED migration
Got a Lemon Poppy Fritter. We had been waiting weeks to try this donut as it had always been sold out. Finally got the last one of the day today. I?m not sure if it was burnt, but the dough was super tough and hard to chew. The flavor was neither of lemon nor poppyseed. It sort of tasted charred. I?ve had other donuts from here that were just fine. But stay away from the lemon poppy fritter
The trademark of a raised doughnut is its airy, fluffy texture. Blackbird raised doughnuts are made with brioche dough and topped with a variety of house-made glazes, frostings, and toppings. Brioche is a rich, tender, yeast dough made with eggs, milk, and butter.
had a delicious lemonade + iced tea!! gabe was so kind and helpful!
At the prices of these donuts, I expect a religious life-changing experience. The offerings are creative and very tasty, and for the creativity they are maybe incrementally "better" than the Gourmet Donuts chain. Staff seemed a little groggy and disinterested on a recent hot Sunday morning.
I love their salted toffee cronut on Sundays with my coffee. My daughters favorite donut shop.
I love Blackbird! The donuts are so delicious and the staff is so friendly and helpful! These donuts always bring a smile to my face! Highly recommend!
Visiting from Chicago and I was out this morning looking for coffee and a donut. Reviews online looked to be good, so I was optimistic. The coffee was great, I got an Americano. I got a chocolate sprinkle donut and it was the strangest donut I?ve ever eaten, I couldn?t even finish it and I discarded half of it. I guess that they use Brioche dough for their donuts, which makes for a very chewy and strange donut experience (compared to a traditional donut). The chocolate and sprinkles were tasty and well do
You can never eat other pretend donuts after you've had a Blackbird Donut! This Newton location is as sleek and modern as the others. Even my chai tea was delicious enough to complement my mango donut.
This is by far our favorite donut shop in the greater Boston area. The donuts are terrific, and they have new monthly flavors every month. Whether you like a sweeter donut, something more traditional, or even savory, they have it. And the staff are always super friendly at all of the locations.
Blackbird donuts is an awesome donut store. They have a couple of stores around the Boston area, and they're all very high quality establishments. Every donut they have is delicious, and they also have good coffee. Some of their donut flavors might seem a little weird, but they all taste great, so I always order whatever's new without thinking about it. What I really liked was the decor and the vibe that the decor produced. It was a very chill, mellow vibe and the staff was really nice as well. They didn't
The old fashioned donuts are incredible! We love the chocolate old fashioned and the apple cider. Beware, we went at 10am on a Sunday and they only had 2 apple cider donuts remaining; get here early if you want a popular flavor. They offer multiple vegan options! Limited seating at this location.
Donuts here are great. But yesterday at noon I went to get a donut and had a bad interaction with the employee there. I asked if they had any vegan donuts available and he just pointed to all the donuts, not answering my question and when he rung me up he was very rude and short tempered. However when a young woman behind me was next in line he preceded to do small talk and completely shifted tones. The workers are usually really nice, I don?t know what he?s doing there.
The everything bagel donut was too tempting to resist. Delicious salty and sweet ?sandwich donut? with sugary cream-cheese spread in between.
Honestly the best donut I've ever had. The dough was so chewy, airy, and delicious. I got the boston creme and the donut had a mellow sweetness from the dough and a rich creme filling. The staff was amazing as well. Just all around a great place!
I love donuts and blackbird always hits the spot. All the classics are good, and I love seeing what their monthly flavors are. Also love that they always have a few vegan options. Yum!
We have been wanting to try this place for a year! They just switched to their October menu & we were so happy to try them! The flavors are amazing. The smoreo and the pumpkin cheesecake were so good! The apple cider glaze had so much apple flavor. The only thing we didn?t love was the chocolate sprinkle. The chocolate icing had a unique taste. My kids said it tasted like ?coffee?. ?? I think it may have been a darker chocolate icing but it wasn?t my favorite. Their plain vanilla was also great. I was not e
I stop by this place once every week or two, while taking my son to an appointment in the area. We've all enjoyed exploring the rotating menu of seasonal flavors. Not all are winners, but the novelty value itself is worth it even if an occasional flavor isn't to our taste. The doughnuts seem to be good quality, and I personally like the matcha latte to go with them to cut down the sweetness a tad. The only downside is falling in love with a flavor only for it to disappear the next month.
Cute shop, yummy donuts, coffee. Interesting flavors. Very sweet. The customer in front was a grandma with two toddlers, and the cashier had a laidback millennial vibe. I?d definitely come back to try other flavors. Left feeling like Newton is fun to visit and I should come back for lunch.
My partner and I love blackbird donuts! The donuts are always such a perfect texture and they have fun flavors, which we love trying every month. Our absolute favorite was the Snowball donut which we hope to see again soon!! ??
good donuts, not the greatest in the world but they do the job, and they actually come with a lot of filling
Definitely disappointing! Were my expectations too high? I am certainly not a donut connoisseur, but over my lifetime I have had those that definitely stand out. This was not one of them. Pricing out at over $40 a dozen - will NOT be going back. On the plus side the service was great and employees were friendly.
Good donuts but when you buy a dozen without specifying you get a bunch of doubles. Why wouldn't you do one of each when you have 9 types, and three repeats? I was also the first person in the store at opening so nothing was out of stock. Maybe it was my fault assuming I would get each type but we literally missed two that we were looking forward to, and got a bunch of glazed and glazed with sprinkles. I also tipped 25% (which was the minimum on there POS without typing your own value). Not too excited abou
The donuts are great. The staff is exceptional!!! They are so warm and welcoming. It is a must experience. Expect to walk out having spent much more than you intended and for the experience to be more than worth it.
Disappointed in my last experience. Which is not like my normal experiences. Purchased a few donuts and JUST as we were walking out the cashier girl asked the other team member ?if the donuts were still good/ okay to sell? after I JUST bought one. A little concerning? Why she needed reassurance and why I just bought one and had to hear that as if they were no longer ?fresh? or something. Gross.
First donut I?ve had here and it was the best donut I?ve ever had in my life. Got the salted toffee !!!! And the coffee is really strong :)
Super cute location, very nice employees, solid coffee/espresso (if fairly spartan for options). And oh boy, dont get me started on those doughnuts!! Excellent rotation of specialty types and the standards are to die for. The cookie donut especially is fantastic, for all that its just a big ol cookie. Only thing thats not perfect is that parking nearby can be a hassle, but if you order ahead, you can usually idle somewhere nearby and just run in, because service is fantastically quick.
We are in town for Labor Day, and this place was recommended to us. We looked on Google, looked on their website, and there was nothing saying they were closed today. Their website even allowed us to order and notified us that the doughnuts were ready, but when we drove 25 minutes to get there, the location was closed even though it was hours before their listed closing time.
We got there about 30 mins before closing and the girl acted all put out that we were there. We got 6 doughnuts (a variety) and the after taste of the doughnuts was the worst part. The apple fritter was super greasy from being fried and was heavy. Just not a fan.
Donuts are great. But everything else is a mess. I just wanted to order some donuts and try them from this location. After 20 minutes of standing in a short line, I get in. Small display case of donuts 3 or 4 wide. No labels. Can't tell what they are. Staff are visibly frazzled and defensive if you bring up the issues. Everyone's supposed to be wearing a mask. But one kid has the mask only covering his mouth and not his nose. For the people who thought they could avoid this mess by ordering online
The doughnuts are good! Customer service needs some work. High school kids with no training. Actually I think they were in their 20s but they acted like kids.
terrible experience. donuts were oily and tough. we tried the boston cream, the london fog, and the apple fritter. the boston cream was the best out of the three, tasted fine but very oily and chewy, and the chocolate had a burnt metallic aftertaste. The london fog was supposed to have a lemon and earl gray filling, but it tasted of nothing and had a grey, unappetizing color. The apple fritter was the worst of the three- hard as a rock, seemed burnt under the glaze, and was so tough that we could barely che
Flavor selection wasn't big, but it was unique. Wasn't a big fan of the flavor selection, but you might be. Donuts were ok in terms of taste, but very expensive, roughly double that of a dunks.
I was treated very poorly. The girl was talking very rudely. Worst service ever.
They gave me the wrong order for my wedding. FOR MY WEDDING. I don?t know if they just messed up and took the wrong order or they were out of the ones we ordered, but after an extremely disappointing offering I will say I?m NEVER going back to Blackbird.
The Asian cashier is very unfriendly. We happened to be Asians too. So she was giving us a very bad vibe. While I was waiting for my drink, I saw her have a very friendly attitude towards a white customer. We will never go again.
Cold brew is extremely good. Did not have time for doughnuts, will certainly do next time
Great donuts. Get the triple chocolate donut w/ soft serve vanilla ice cream, you will not be disapointed.
First time visit. Nice environment. Friendly employees. Donuts were delicious. Simple flavors, but very tasty, and fresh.
The Asian girl needs to be fired. She obviously discriminate against Asian people and treat Caucasian people better with a smile and friendly attitude. Very toxic for the business and customers. I won?t be going here any longer.
Honestly, not good. The donuts were basically bread with frosting and at 3.50/4 dollars each I was expecting something much sweeter.
Their savory everything bagel with cream cheese doughnut is to die for! The coffee was perfectly roasted too!
This is my new favorite dohnut shop. This makes dunkin?s Dohnuts seem disgusting. The people that work here are so nice. Would recommend to anyone
Friendly customer service, delicious and great donut selection and good atmosphere. ?? coffee ??
Two pretty ordinary donuts and a cup of coffee for 12 and change. Not going back.
All very good, but $3 a donut adds up quick.
Their blackbird donut gives heavenly taste!???????
This place is amazing! Super delicious doughnuts and coffee, super friendly staff and super clean! A+ Mike G
Great coffee/lattes. Donuts are delicious! Always taste fresh.
So good! It?s gonna be my place to go.
I never thought I would like an everything donut (savory with cream cheese). But I did! This place is great
Kurt is the best and the Doughnuts and coffee are delicious!
Some of the best dougnuts in MA. Great rotating menu.
Some of the best donuts I have ever had!!!
Good donuts. Vegan options as well
The cinnamon minis were delicious.
The everything donut is life changing. That is all.
Delicious ??. A bit pricey. Friendly employees.
Some of the best donuts around.
Amazing lattes and donuts
Their donuts are fantastic, and they're nicely balanced. The cake donuts aren't too oily or sweet, and the yeast donuts are fluffy, cherry, and the right level of sugary!
Very small and cozy vibe. Donuts great and flavorful. I got the iced latte and it hit the spot as well. In front of the commuter rail station, so great to grab a bit or drink before hopping on to go to Boston or etc.
(Translated by Google) excellent attention from the staff. (Original) excelente atenci?n del personal.
