If you are eating gluten free then you know how hard it is to find something that is good that is gluten free. Bismarck Donuts is the place to find something gluten free that is actually good. Not only is it good, the donuts are so fluffy and yummy. Wow! The frosting is really flavorful. There are lots of flavors to choose from. They are made on the spot so they are warm and fresh. Mmmm!
Sweet Treats, But a Disappointing Valentine's Day Experience I recently visited Bismarck Doughnuts, a gluten-free donut shop that has garnered quite a reputation for its delightful treats. With Valentine?s Day being a perfect occasion for indulging in something sweet, I was excited to pick up a few donuts to celebrate the day. Upon arriving, I was immediately drawn in by the cozy atmosphere and the enticing smell of baked goods. Unfortunately, my excitement quickly turned to disappointment when I discover
Gluten free donuts that taste good is a win! It was our first time here and we got the donuts to the car. They were hot and fresh donuts! We took a bite and knew it was a hit but after a couple more bites realized it was doughy. We weren't sure if that is how they are supposed to be so we went back in and showed them. They said We will make you new ones. They were fast and prompt and the donuts were hot and cooked all the way! Really appreciate them fixing it immediately once they saw it. Really good donuts
We ordered all three flavors of beignets. Frankly they were very doughy for a beignets and if you are expecting something like a beignets I would not order these. It was a sweet treat and 3 stars on the food for me.
I haven?t had a donut in six years and these made my day!!!! So soft and delicious, truly speechless. Got the coconut cream and a maple glazed, 12/10 recommend if you?re gluten free!!!!
The doughnuts were pretty good especially being gluten free. Love that they?re made to order! I personally tried some of a blueberry fritter, regular blueberry (regular donut covered in blueberry icing) and a maple bacon doughnut. The fritter was not the best and that?s my favorite normally, however the other two were pretty great. They are pricey but I understand gluten free is more expensive to make.
Best gluten-free donuts I?ve ever had! It?s so nice not to worry about cross contamination - everything they make is gluten free. I had a maple, cr?me br?l?e, and original glazed. They were all great.
I haven't had a good donut since I was diagnosed with celiacs. These donuts fresh fried are amazing. They are some of the best donuts I've had gluten free or not. All the ones I tried were good, but I think the apple fritter was my favorite.
The doughnuts and beignets were made fresh which was exactly what we wanted on a cold morning. They make each order fresh so there is a 3-10 minute wait time from ordering to getting the food. Overall good experience!
Really, really good gluten free donuts. I ordered one of every flavor and they fry them up fresh! They were so good, barely could tell they were GF! Wish we didn?t live 1.5 hours away or this donut shop would be a regular for our family!
Incredible. I?ve been gluten free for almost 10 years and have searched forever to find good donuts. These are great gluten free or not. So impressed that they also prepare them fresh.
Gluten-free Apple fritter and Sweet n Salty donuts were delicious. Made fresh when you order them. Cute bakery with seating if you want to enjoy your donut there.
We got three donuts: Apple fritter: 4/5. Great flavor and texture. Could have done without the extra sugar drizzle I wish it was stated as an option. Maple bacon: 4/5. Very clear bacon flavor which is hard to find. Great but also could have done without the extra sugar drizzle, cloying. Old fashioned: 2/5 Not an old fashioned donut. Had extra flavoring (not sure, something like cardamom/lemon?) and not the classic old fashion texture. It was actually a good donut but it's categorically not an old fashioned
We came to pick up donuts, and didn't know they were gluten-free, which is honestly incredible! The donuts are nice and spongy, but some of the flavors get lost with the donut itself, and I would actually say I'd prefer a little more sweet, since the donut itself isn't that sweet. The donuts could also use more frosting. The blueberry and maple were very subtle. The double chocolate is very good and tastes like a not-overly-sweet brownie. If you are doing gluten-free, this place would be a huge win.
My honest opinion is that the donuts were a 3.5 or 4 out of 5. The more you eat it, the more the flavors set in. When we got there, we ordered the double chocolate donut and after a while they came telling us they ran out of it. So we got blueberry, pecan, normal chocolate, and the peppermint cake.
As someone with celiac disease and a donut lover, I have been trying to find places with good gluten free donuts and have been disappointed with the lack of options everywhere. My friend was able to pick up donuts for me and I was thoroughly impressed!! The lemon donut was my favorite. Note that these are cake donuts, not a glazed raised donut like what you would see at Krispy Kreme. Cake donuts are the best imo so this was a great find. Excited to go back and try more either in Orem or their new location
They?re not the best donuts, but they offer gluten free options in almost every flavor. They cook the GF ones fresh once you order and while they?re warm, they?re very good. I especially liked the blueberry version. The churro was also good.
Fancy donuts, more expensive but way easier to eat than the extreme sugar donuts. They also make their own dough fresh and serve it hot and melty. If you want more than just a sugary fix, this place has the experience. There is nothing like a fresh hot doghnut!
Bismarck recently switched to 100% gluten free and I could not be happier!! My husband is a regular consumer of gluten and says he can't tell the difference at all. I especially love the old fashioned cake donut and the blueberry raised. The donuts come out HOT and delicious. Truly the best donuts around!!
I nearly cried tears of happiness while eating my gluten free donuts and beignets. These were not only the best gluten free anything I have ever had, but easily the best donuts I have ever had. They came piping hot and crisp. Well worth the $4 - $4.75 per donut for the quality. The service was very prompt and staff were super kind.
These are so good!! I had the beignets with powdered sugar and a Boston Cream Bismarck. These affordable and delightful treats live in my brain. I will be back any time I'm even within several hours drive radius. Yes, they are THAT good!
Amazing donuts. I've eaten at different gluten free donut places around the country and have never had any that taste even close to as good as these! The variety of flavors they offer is an added bonus!
I had been to Bismarck once when they first opened and tried the beignets. I remember them being yummy and warm and how good the doughnuts smelled. I finally got the chance to try them again, and I have to say I'm pretty disappointed. $21 for six dry mediocre doughnuts. The old fashioned tasted burnt. The vanilla ring was dry and had some-what of an "off" taste, but that could just be me. The blueberry was the only one that wasn't dry, but it didn't have a lot of flavor. All of them had very dry and crumbly
So, my husband and I stumbled onto Bismarck doughnuts in Orem tonight, and it turns out this was their first night open! I thought their cinnamon crumb doughnut was incredible and their cinnamon-sugar beignet ?was so good none made it home to the kids ?? I didn?t particularly enjoy the other two doughnuts we tried, but my husband really liked them. I was also disappointed that they didn?t have their filled doughnuts offered yet, but I look forward to trying them when they do. Also, I really want to try th
You know - even though these two donuts weren?t my favorite?this is my 4th time coming back, can?t knock it. Donuts are consistently very soft and super tasty - highly recommend the fritters. One suggestion: more frosting! Love that it?s dedicated gluten free!
Really fluffy, chewy doughnuts! These are high-end doughnuts with lots of flavor. The Party doughnut, a rainbow sprinkle, had a great vanilla flavor (a doughnut I typically associate with just being sweet. The Bismarck Signature was so fluffy and had so much coconut custard! The doughnut seems to have weight to it and feel really substantial. Things to know: $$: These puppies are gonna run you about $4/each, with a dozen running $36. Seating: they only have seating for about 20 in the building. Selecti
We love Bismarck Doughnuts! My daughter has Celiac and we are so grateful to have a safe place to get her yummy treats! 3/4 in our family don?t need to eat gluten free but we are all OBSESSED. Love so many of the flavors we?ve tried! Today we had coconut cream, strawberry cream and apple fritters. All were delicious!
Honestly great donuts and a great place but I downloaded their app to start earning points and got a free donut for signing up but the app does NOT work. I can?t order online, I can?t earn points, and I can?t redeem the rewards I have. The app needs to get fixed because I love coming here but the app is awful. I eat gluten free I understand that that can be expensive but for $4 a donut or more I want to be earning points and redeeming my free donut.
Saw their booth at the gluten free expo but the line was way to long we we decided to go to the store in person. The doughnuts were amazing and they seem to be very gluten conscious. They store has a separate fryer and work space for the gluten free. I tried the sweet a salty and love the different flavors. I would definitely recommend and especially for those that are gluten free.
I tried an Apple Fritter today, apparently their first day for sale. It legitimately is the best donut I have ever tasted and I do not say that lightly. Perfect combination of apple and doughnut and they did something amazing with the glaze on it. Be prepared with your wallet, of course! The others that I tried: Double Chocolate, which has a nice blend of mild dark chocolate with a clean aftertaste, very good. For that and the Blueberry the dough is a great halfway point between a classic and cake donut, w
This review is for the NEW LOCATION at: 23 N 900 W, Salt Lake City, UT 84116 Yes, it was confusing at first when trying to find this place. The building that says DoorDash and Food Pick up is the RIGHT location. Go under the archway going into the closed parking lot and the blue building will have a door that says entrance. its in there. The donuts are made to order. Always fresh. They were having some 1st day woes and they accommodated us with great customer service!!! The donuts themselves are delicious
I want to find every reason to give 5 stars. Either this was a bad batch of Beignets, or the recipe needs a fundamental makeover. I can envision the potential. Also, the sanitary practices of those preparing the food straight from cashiering isn't the best. Change those gloves. I want you all to succeed long term. Hopefully you will. Changes are needed. Just my opinion along with the other low star ratings.
The donuts tasted really good! If only we could have had the ones we wanted... We showed up half an hour before close, and they told us they were out of everything but the most basic donuts. (What really happened is they had turned off fryers to try to close early and didn't want to turn them back on.) We got our food, then, 10 minutes before closing, the same employee who told us everything was gone went and flipped the sign to closed, grabbed a broom, then stood 6 feet away staring at us until we left. We
We have two Gluten Allergies in the family and for the longest time had been unable to find any GOOD GF donuts? enter Bismarck! Soooo good and worth it. They bring your order out warm and covered in goodness! We?ve had the beignets and those are awesome but we really love their raised donuts. The cake donuts are good too, but the warm raised donuts are next level!! Today we got Maple Bacon, Chocolate (with sprinkles), Vanilla, Coconut Cream?all were amazing!! Highly recommend.
GLUTEN FREE DOUGHNUTS!!! I was diagnosed with celiac disease 20 years ago and these doughnuts fulfilled 20 years of pent up doughnut craving and more! Seriously SO good! You can request that they make them fresh for you at the time of order and they are made in a dedicated fryer! The insides are fluffy, the flavors are ?? and the prices are not bad at all! They have gluten free doughnuts available every day. They have two GF flavors per week, and they rotate those two flavors each week. We will be back? pr
Absolutely amazing! Everything I could ever want in a gluten free doughnut! Went on a whim and am now their biggest fan. The apple fritters made me think I had died and gone to heaven. I can't stop thinking about them. Please open a location in Idaho!
So glad my family found this place! The service was amazing! Gluten Free never tasted so good! The doughnuts are made to order, so they?re warm and yummy! My favorite was the apple fritter.
Epic doughnuts, great atmosphere and nice staff!! Loved the Blueberry Doughnut 10/10. Had the perfect crust to the doughnut with soft fluffy insides. Flavor was deep and tasted like real, natural blueberries. Very happy with the whole experience!!
Mark is AMAZING! I am from out of town and knew I had to stop here before I left. Traffic from SLC was awful and took me over 1.75 hours to get here. I called Mark a few times during the drive, letting him know I was going to be late. When I told him I was going to arrive after they closed, he said, ?I can stay late.? I was so relieved to hear this! As I waited for my donuts, Mark said he made an extra sweet and salty donut and that I could have it. I gladly accepted and felt revived after that long car rid
It was my first time here. It was very underwhelming. It wasn?t bad, just was OK, not in the top 10 at all, especially with the price (8.12 for 2 donuts). Definitely does not live up to the surrounding hype. The blueberry donut tasted like a Betty Crocker Blueberry Muffin mix, same density too. I would say any blueberry donut from a grocery store tops this one. Johnny-O spud nuts is my top choice for sure for a good blueberry donut, Tasty?s Donuts is a close second, and Duck Donuts is 3rd choice for sure. I
Loved the beignets, can?t go wrong with either the powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar, both are amazing. Raised doughnuts are awesome as well. Charming and modern atmosphere. Service was fantastic. Everyone in the restaurant was hustling to be helpful, bringing napkins and waters without being asked. Great experience. Will be back soon
Wife has Celiac's and had never had a doughnut before, and loved it! Great place, good doughnuts and they fresh bake them to order so you get them hot out of the oven.
Let me start by saying that the food here is amazing. However, their customer service is horrible. When we went last night we ordered a dozen beignets with there being 3 a box. One member of our party has a anaphylactic tree nut allergy. We went over our order several times with the worker and made it clear that there could be no Nutella in that box. When the boxes came we asked her to point out to us all the ones that have Nutella, and her response was to just look and tell. Then when we opened the box we
It's so nice that there's a doughnut place that is 100% gluten free! The doughnuts are delicious, but are a little dense. I was hoping they would be more light and airy like regular doughnuts, but that just may not be possible when it comes to gluten free baked goods. Definitely plan on returning here to try their beignets and fritters.
Best gluten free donuts I've ever had. And they have take n bake! I'm so excited to have some when my family gets glutenful ones!
I have NEVER tasted anything as good as the fresh, warm creme brulee Bismarck! And the beignets! It has been 20 years since I have had a beignet, and they did not disappoint. The store is impeccable, the service was great, and I am so grateful that they took a risk at going completely gluten-free. It means more than I can say to have a store where I can choose anything I want! I wish it was closer to where I live, but it's probably a good thing that it isn't--I would be there every day!
Too sweet, way too expensive for what they are. Daughter only ate about 1/2 of hers. Had pricey donuts before but they were sort of exotic, complicated ingredients. Vanilla donut was $4.
Pros: They have a good selection that isn?t overwhelming. The frosting is sweet, but not thick or heavy. The dough tastes like bread, but cakey so it?s not overly sweet. They make donuts all day so they are fresh & warm. The store is brand new so it?s clean & looks nice. Cons: Not the greatest donut I have ever had, but they are still good. It is pricey so I wouldn?t come here often. But sometimes you have a craving so it?s nice to have a shop open that you know will have fresh donuts. I didn?t care for the
This has become my go-to breakfast spot since having to go gluten-free. The donuts are delicious and fresh. So glad a place like this exists.
I love it here! I can?t eat gluten and haven?t had a good donut in 4 years and this was the best gluten free donut ever!!!!!!!! I got them fresh and it was amazing!!!! I almost cried for joy!
I?ve been here twice. I?ve noticed hesitation when ordering by others and myself. I love donuts but theses donuts were at a whole new level of taste and quality. However I didn?t know what to order. The menu on the wall is a little confusing or not enough information. I love the blue berry fritter was out of this world. I didn?t know about the beignets until we were done ordering. For new customers have samples or a better way to describe what is available. The menu leaves you hanging, especially if you?ve
Best doughnuts I?ve ever had! Never been much of a doughnut guy, but that has now completely changed thanks to these guys. I particularly like blueberry doughnuts and this was the best one I?ve ever had! Got it warm and fresh. Perfect amount of fluff. Not too dense. Frosting was perfect. The buttermilk old fashioned doughnut was also very very good. The beignet is nothing short of amazing. Don?t come here. Just leave the doughnuts for the rest of us. Thanks.
The holy grail of gluten free pastries. They are SO good. Made fresh. Tons of flavors. I nearly went.
So glad we gave it a second chance! Our first time wasn?t memorable but the second time was delightful. It is on the pricier side though.
Super confused.... they don't let you choose your donuts anymore? You just have to but a mystery donut box? Been awhile since going in here, I go in today and am told I can't choose my donuts anymore. I don't get it.... guess I'll go somewhere else? ?????
Oh man, I really came in here wanting to experience a five star doughnut and write a five star review. I heard a lot about this place and even saw some famous Utah foodies raving about Bismarck on social media during their opening. The location is super cute, with a few tables and an area with some bar stools to sit if you don't want or can't find an open table. Doughnuts and beignets are displayed beautifully. Presentation truly is a 5/5. That got me extremely excited. My wife ordered the Maple Ring and
The beignets were the best thing I've ever tasted in my life. I could not believe how delicious they were. The staff were also the nicest people ever, they made me want to come back the next day. New favorite place to get a treat, this place is incredible.
My family went into the store today, not noticing the closed sign on the door. The owner was very nice and apologized saying they were closed for the day? when he found out we traveled to get there he happily made us some donuts even though they were closed. Super nice, the donuts were delicious.. I have celiac and have not had a yummy donut in years. I would highly recommend.
All I can say is exceptional!! We are so happy we made it to Bismarck Doughnuts. They were all so good. They tasted fresh and had the best soft and crispy texture. The whole shop is so cute and trendy. It was also very clean. I will make this a must stop whenever I come into town.
The quality of their beignets is not the same. Either they've cut corners or they have new staff not making them properly. The Doughnuts display is now covered with pictures, this doesn't allow customers to see the variety and avaliable doughnuts. They don't have list or display of their different types of doughnuts anymore at least there wasn't any when I was there. I understand that prices need to be raised here and there to keep up with inflation and rising costs of goods and services, but that doesn't
Highly recommend the cake donuts. They blew me and my wife away (the blueberry one in particular). Voodoo donuts in Portland has nothing on the cake donuts from here and they?re half the price of Voodoo as well ?? Regular donuts are good, maybe even one notch up from good. Place was clean, staff was kind and just overall a great date. 3 donuts for about $12 isn?t too bad when they?re this good.
Great donuts. Definitely pricey, but they?re thicker and larger than most. Super clean and super fresh. Wish they had more of a selection and they weren?t so expensive.
The doughnuts were ok, definitely not the best! They seem to be using too much yeast, for quicker rise. I had a strong aftertaste after eating one. On top of that, they are way to expensive for just doughnuts. The beignets were ok too, they were covered with oily powdered sugar which was not enjoyable to eat. Customer service could also use some improvements. I was waiting for a thank you, but didn?t hear anything?
Best Doughnut you will have in Utah! My personal favorite is the Blueberry Doughnut, it just hits the spot. But honestly you won?t go wrong with any doughnut, from the classic to the signature ones. Also the Beignet?s are super soft and warm and so delicious! Make sure to get the jam to go with the beignets! Staff are super friendly, and great service! Overall this place so refreshing, and lovely. Especially with all these cookie shops. It?s nice to have a great quality doughnut and beignet place. (I woul
So yummy! It was great to be able to eat donuts again without worrying about cross contamination. They tasted just as good as normal, gluten donuts. We will definitely be back! It did take a bit, and after we ordered they let everyone else know that only 2 of their donuts were available until the next batch was done so we will probably call ahead to make sure they have what we want before going next time. I wish they had a way to order online but hopefully soon!
These are literally the best GF donuts I?ve ever had. They have fried dough options too! I tried the cr?me br?l?e, apple fritter, double chocolate, and maple and they were all heavenly! The cr?me br?l?e was the favorite. ???? You can?t even tell they are GF! ??
Absolutely LOVED the place. It fits perfect on Treat Corner in Orem. The freshness and quality of the doughnuts are what stand out most but there are a couple of things that I?d like to see be changed to have it be 5/5. 1). Wait time for doughnuts: When we got there there was only one type of doughnut available. We waited about 20 minutes until the ones we were wanting were available on a Saturday night. Way too long for a doughnut in a small space. 2). Price: Depending on the pack you get, the price will r
Best Gluten Free Donut I?ve ever had. They bake them fresh and they are actually fluffy! They don?t taste like cake like most GF donuts. Can?t wait to go back.
Went one evening and they had no doughnuts, not sure why they stayed open. Went at 6:30 the next morning because Google maps said they were open, they in fact were not, didn?t open till 7:30. Then I go in and they only have cake doughnuts as options and only 5 options. I inquired about other flavors, they said those would take a long time to be ready. Not a real doughnut shop in my opinion. 3/21/25 Came again to give it another shot. Again terrible! Saturday and they are out of half the kinds of doughnuts.
Doughnuts are overpriced and not worth the price! The manager or owner was also rude and short with us. We also had a buy 2 get 1 free coupon (we have a grub club app that we pay a subscription for - $120 for the year) and they said "we're not accepting those right now". Every other company on the grub club app accepts it and is great about it! We were like ohh okay that's odd then why are you still on this app... Anyway, we said that's fine since it's so hard to find gf treats. We bought it, (maple, doubl
Some of the best doughnuts in Utah county. The dough is light and fluffy with a great flavor and the maple icing is very mild which I love. Overall some of the best doughnuts in Utah County. Only downside is prices are high.
This place rocks!! Only place we?ve found that does Gluten Free Donuts, and they are amazing! Highly recommend
This wonderful doughnut shop is clean, quick, tasty, high quality, and comfortable! I went there on a double date last night and we chatted there for quite sometime without feeling rushed. The doughnuts were warm and tasted amazing. The Gluten Free doughnuts are INCREDIBLE and the best ones I've been able to find. The owner of the shop was SO kind and after awhile gave us a free, freshly baked apple fritter doughnut. He then told me that they are working on a gluten free version! Definitely will return here
The best donuts I?ve ever had!! My celiac husband and son missed donuts more than anything else and these are by far the best gluten free dessert we have had as of yet! Thank you for being inclusive ??
Favorite gluten free donut spot. Only complaint is they are always out of the sweet and salty donut which is our favorite.
I came into Bismarck about an hour before they closed on 12/7, and they were out of almost everything. I came in with expectation of made fresh to order all day everyday since that?s what their instagram promotes. If you?re going to stay open until 9, there should at least be enough stock to last through the day. I drove 30 minutes to get there, and the experience was honestly super frustrating. When I walked in, there were two employees working?a guy and a girl. The girl took my order but didn?t even bothe
Donuts are incredible! Staff are reasonably friendly. Only 2 tiny tables in store but most people take them to go.
Finally, a donut place open late!! These are fun, gourmet donuts. The cake donuts are light and fluffy. The flavors aren?t artificial and they are really rich. Definitely a great place for a date night treat.
I love their doughnuts! I thought I would never taste a good doughnut again since having celiac!
If you?re gluten free you will probably love these. But if you?re not I would advise to eat doughnuts elsewhere. Gluten makes doughnuts SO much better!!! These are expensive, and they really don?t taste that good. Doughnuts without glute will always taste off, especially affecting the texture. Wish they had a sign up in their store somewhere that said it?s gluten free. I only found out based off reviews. Cute atmosphere but I wouldn?t go back.
They make their delicious donuts as soon as you order, which means they?re warm and fresh, but also don?t take forever to make. They keep the originals but change up their other flavors just to make it interesting! Very cute and nice shop to relax and have conversations. Best part is they are 100% gluten free which helps a lot of people in our community!
I feel conflicted about this review because the donuts and good and I appreciate that everything is gluten free, but the service has gone way down hill. I?ve been coming here since it opened and usually everyone was really friendly. I walked in on a Saturday morning and it was dead, I was the only customer. Yet the guy working the register acted so annoyed by me just trying to order some donuts and upset by my questions. There was no communication about how long anything would take, just like annoyance that
I?ve had a lot of donuts in my life (my parents owned bakeries when I was a kid), and literally at the first bite I knew Bismarck had made one of the best I have ever tasted. Go and try, and try again, this delicious new bakery!
I may not know how to say beignet, but I know how to eat beignets. Brand new on the GF menu. 10 stars.
Great Bismarck donuts and beignets!!! Beautiful bakery to grab a treat and relax! Definitely a must visit. Get the sauce with the beignets!
I was really excited about trying these since the reviews were good but I was disappointed. I got them for a fancy watch party as a treat. All of my guests agreed they are not worth it. For 6 doughnuts, I paid $21 and they were super super dry. Flavors were way off. We got the blueberry and some bites you could taste blueberry and others, you couldn't. There was more cinnamon flavor in the old fashioned than the cinnamon one. The service was also not great. I felt like an inconvenience and he wasn't sure ab
Stopped in on a whim (because who can say no to beignets?) and OH MY WORD. This place is SO GOOD. The beignets were phenomenal, the employees were unbelievably nice. We got the royal treatment! Will definitely be coming here again! Probably more than I should....
I was never big into donuts before having to be gluten free. But honestly these are the best donuts I've ever had and im hooked! The maple/vanilla ring ones are devine and everything is always so fresh. You can taste how fresh the strawberryglaze is and even as someone who doesnt like blueberries the blueberry fritter tastes amazing. I'm so grateful to have these donut options being gluten free. They're a little pricier but so worth it.
