It is NO longer called Birdies. However, it is still a cute little caf? with excellent service, good tasting coffee, and soft fluffy donuts. As we were leaving, it did start to get a little busy, so be prepared.

I ordered from this place moments ago and I am absolutely shocked & terrified that there was a big metal in my husband?s chicken sandwich. He was eating the chicken sandwich and he almost broke his tooth because of complete negligence. I will never be ordering from this place again. WOW.

This place felt like a little league concession being run by junior high kids who have never worked in a restaurant in their life. Birdies may have been a good place (I never went) but it seems to have shut down and is "reopened" as Duchess. Duchess was a horrible experience and the food was terrible to mid at best. It doesn?t matter if it?s called Duchess or Birdie?s the food is phenomenal. Breakfast burritos are my personal favs but the breakfast and lunch chicken sandwich?s are top tier. If you?re lucky they?ll have some of the iconic gold dusted donuts available. The other donuts are good too. Order ahead via an app or in person the cook time is usually around 12 to 17 minutes. In DTLA, this is probably one of the best donut shops around with other menu items available outside of pastries. I did the 6 for $20 special and got the assorted. First and last time here. Ordered a classic glazed donut, which shows $2 in the display case. Register says 10% off of paying by cash. Donut rings up at $2.25, I paid cash and no discount adjustment nor did the counter gal correct it when I brought it up. Literally shrugged her shoulders as if to say, ?Oh well, too late, price is wrong and I didn?t give you a cash discount. Donut itself was good. Place is dumpy with cheap signs plastered on the wall as if they got lazy with the name change and rebranding.

Superb, friendly customer service plus they offer samples to try the donut flavors. Small minimalist black & white interior, regular fresh hand made donuts with inventive toppings. Birdies is one of My fave spots to catch a quick, affordable bite when I'm in DTLA. They make an excellent chicken; juicy, flaky breading, nice crunch. Shoestring fries are nice and simple. Plus, if you si desire they have Bomb donuts to grub on. It's especially good on the weekends. Fridays and Saturdays they stay open til 3 am.

These are some of the fluffiest donuts I have ever tasted! I'm from Texas, and clearly, these are some of the biggest donuts I have ever consumed. These satisfied our morning big hunger. They have different variations of these sandwiches, and they are all soo good. This was the one place that was soo good while we were there on vacation, we went there 2x. It is busy with orders online during the weekend. Wow I was not expecting Birdies to be so great! As soon as we walked in, the staff greeted us and helped us decide what we wanted to eat. They were super friendly and patient. Their fantastic chicken sandwich features the juiciest and plumpest fried chicken I've ever had. Their breakfast sandwich is killer too, try that with the chicken only if you are REALLY ravenous. Their fries are crispy and delicious, with or without sauce (they come with ketchup only so ask for any other sauce you'd like for a small charge). This place also features gourmet donuts ($3-$4 per) and EXTREMELY nice staff. Very minimal seating so I'd suggest doing takeout. Totally worth it!

Food is pretty good. I enjoyed the donuts more than the chicken. It's relatively expensive if you're not alone and want to experience chicken and donuts. The restaurant is super small. It seats about 10 people and can get pretty claustrophobic feeling when busy. Parking is a drag too. I would recommend it but prepare for DTLA parking and go during a slow time so you can sit down and eat.

The place is a fantastic spot at any point of the week. The drinks are fantastic. My personal recommendation is the horchata latee. The sandwhiches are a great way to spend a lunch. The donuts are also amazing for breakfast or if you?re looking for a sweet treat. Service is great and warm.

Stopped by this cute little shop and got the avocado toast and some doughnuts. The avocado toast was actually so good, and the bread was perfect. I also tried the pistachio and strawberry donuts, which were amazing. Definitely recommend this place. We went there really late after a concert and we were starving. They were friendly and helpful. The chicken tenders were flavorful juicy with a crispy batter. Incredibly disappointing. As a doughnut connoisseur, I have come to sample a variety of amazing donuts over the country. This location was not it at all. All of their donuts were terribly dry. The one redeeming quality is that their staff is friendly and nice. These were both great tasting sandwiches , picture #1 is the classic Spicy chicken sandwich and #2 is the Nashville BBQ sandwich. There are a couple of other sandwich options on the menu. They also have a bakery case, with donuts that are specialty made. 10 different types ALL look delicious!! I tried but forgot to photograph the Pistachio Lime donut. Very good hole in the wall spot that sells fried chicken sandwiches and donuts. I ordered the Birdies Spicy and although it wasn?t as big as I had hoped, it had a lot of flavor and the chicken was very juicy and worked well with all the other ingredients. Excellent chicken sandwiches. Prices are a little high but willing to support a local business! You have to find parking on your own. Park meter if you can as the $5 dollar parking is for 15 minutes and the meter is $1 per hour during lunch hours. Dont forget to get the doughnuts for dessert!

My god! It was tough to choose what to get, so I decided to make my own combo with a breakfast chicken including bacon. I decided to try the Nashville chicken. Now when I say this place would put other places in the south to shame I mean it! Hot hot was on point. If you can handle it I highly recommend. That and the iced horchata latte. Service was immaculate I got the bites in the hot hot spice. Chicken was crispy. Food came out spicy and perfectly hot and crispy. Hotter than most average Nashville hot chicken. Recommend. This place was crazy good! Amazing selection of fresh made doughnuts and a great menu of sandwiches. They also serve some fancy shmancy coffee (which I'm not a fan of but have nice distinctive smells). I had a fried chicken, fried egg and bacon sandwich and it was the highlight of my day. That gold doughnut looks amazing too, maybe one day I'll have 100$ to spend on a single dessert.

I came here with a friend during Outer Edge LA (NFTLA). They have so many options for breakfast, lunch, and the dessert options will likely make you have slurping noises like me haha. Came out to try the golden doughnut featured on Buzzfeeds Worth It episode and was several disappointed. They made the place look very friendly and in inviting and i did not feel that at all. Really enjoyed the Birdies Original sandwich, the chicken is perfect. Also enjoyed a maple bacon donut, and more varieties kept coming out of the kitchen! Original Birdies sandwich taste bland, nothing really special except a very bad customer service. Wait almost 5 minutes till the server decide to hang up the phone and take my order, no apologies to customers. Wait another almost 20 minutes to get my sandwich, it was not busy at all in the restaurant, again no apologies for all the delay. Chicken sandwich got two star but the service got none, averaging out ONE star experience.
