Big City Bagels receives mostly positive feedback for its delicious, fresh bagels and friendly service, with many praising the variety and quality, especially the breakfast sandwiches and cream cheese options. However, some criticize inconsistent toasting, undercooked bagels, and high prices for certain items like lox sandwiches. Customer Reviews

When a customer on a busy Saturday morning ask for toasted open faced; please toast the bagel and ensure it?s served open faced. At a cost of $45 for 2 lox bagels and a tea alone, is overpriced; But please toast the bagel and serve it open faced when requested. It was a waste of our time and unpleasant. Thanks

Best bagels in San Diego, and the nicest people! Have gone to Big City since I was a little kid and love visiting when I?m back home! The cream cheese melts are amazing! 10/10!

They have good bagels, but the real reason I love this place is the extremely affordable $10-$12 lunch sandwiches. I prefer to order them on sourdough, and my favorite is the chicken salad sandwich. They're always fast and have a good online ordering system. Also great breakfast sandwiches.

I was skeptical after reading some reviews but the bagels are great and tasty! Even when I bought day old?s they were still fresh and had the texture of ?real? bagels and the scallion cream cheese is so good. I hope they do well! I missed having a go-to bagel place in the neighborhood!

Great bagels BUT, the lox breakfast sandwich comes with literally ONE THING SLICE of salmon. Pathetic. There?s 3x more tomato than salmon. You should just call it a tomato breakfast sandwich lol. You have to get double lox to even taste it. And then your lox sandwich is well over $20 (and that?s pick up pricing not uber eats!). Cmon guys. One thin slice is disrespectful to your customers.

Our first visit to Big City Bagels Cafe this morning was nothing short of amazing! From the moment we arrived, Vanessa greeted us with the warmest smile and a thoughtful gesture?complimentary donuts! What a delightful way to start our experience. The food was absolutely delicious, and every single staff member we encountered was polite, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. This cafe is truly a hidden gem, and we can't wait to come back again. We'll be spreading the word to everyone we know about this incredibl

$2 extra dollars for a gluten free bagel half the size of a regular. On a ?high rise? sandwich. A complete rip off.

Loved the gluten free Everything Bagel, it was crispy on the outside and fresh. Next time I'll try it with jalapeno cream cheese. The iced mocha was good with lots of chocolate.

Today was my first visit to BCB. Pleasant atmosphere: inviting, clean, and spacious with a good amount seating. Service was friendly. I had a bacon, egg, and cheese bagel. The bagel was perfectly toasted, and the sandwich was delicious. Glad BCB is in North Park. I?ll definitely return!

BCB-North Park has become my new weekend breakfast spot since it opened its new location on 30th St. Their menu is excellent, their bagel selection is incredible, and their espresso drinks are tasty! And I love the location--it's so convenient for me.

Stopped in earlier this week to pick up some bagels, and we weren?t disappointed! The bagels here are of the thick, fluffy variety. If you?re looking for a crisper exterior, I?d go with Nomad?s wood-fired bagels down the street. But if you?re looking for a wider variety of bagel flavors, BCB wins out. Cinnamon raisin bagels have been my favorite so far, as they?re really flavorful and balanced. The atmosphere in this shop has been significantly improved with the ownership changeover? I can tell that they

Staff is friendly but definitely take the time to take or make orders. It was understandable for them to be like this when the business opened but it?s still not efficient and they make drink orders incorrectly after spending 15 minutes on just the 1 drink. Suffice to say that I won?t be returning to this location I hope the staff get a wake up call and do better.

I grew up in the North East and was excited to finally have a good bagel place in North Park but this isn't it unfortunately. Food - Undercooked bagels. Service - I watched the staff give away orders to the wrong ppl or not announce an order's name to leave ppl confused and waiting multiple times just while I was waiting and they had a bad attitude about it when customers complained.

Very disappointed. We were pumped that North Park was going to replace Solomon Bagels because they were terrible but at this point we've been to Big City Bagels 3x and I'll never come back - gave it a fair shot. First time I went I got a dozen cinnamon bagels and they lacked flavor so I was bummed I was stuck with 12 of them, but they looked great. Second time I went I got a bagel with butter, bagel breakfast sandwich, and two coffees, and the bagel was barely toasted, the other bagel was also barely toaste

Wanted to try a new bagel spot since there are so few in SD. Came in with skepticism knowing the reviews at the Hillcrest location, and unfortunately those rung true. Mediocre to decent bagel, however order wasn?t correctly fulfilled (not toasted, incorrect bagel type, etc). I will say it?s not over priced and the lady at check out was nice, but I?ll probably just stick with Bruegger?s - nothing special either but you know what you?re gonna get.

Took them 15 minutes to get my bagel ready this morning. 15 MINUTES! At that rate, they ought to be able to serve a dozen people by tonight!

This place rocks. I placed an online order and unfortunately got stuck at the dealership longer than anticipated so I was extremely late picking it up. When I arrived and they saw how late I was, they didn?t hesitate in saying they?d remake the entire meal free of charge. I tried my damnedest to pay for the new meal but they wouldn?t allow it. I made sure the extra food didn?t go to waste and left a very satisfied customer. Will 100% return!

My only quarrel, do NOT call your breakfast sandwich ?the Jersey shore? and then say you put ?taylor ham? in it. Any and all South Jersey natives know it?s called PORK ROLL! Disgrace But good food and chill staff. I?d come back.

Fresh bagels, moto coffee brewing, friendly staff. Clean bagel spot in NP with lots of great breakfast sandwich options.

This morning I bought a cream cheese and the girl who was putting the cream cheese in the pot was talking and didn?t pay attention that cream cheese was missing in this pot. Lack of vegan options.

Great bagels and great people. I love their bagel sandwiches. They also offer great muffins and loaves. Their coffee is quite strong, however. They use Cafe Moto, which known to be strong coffee. They offer a good amount of inside seating and friendly service.

It?s apparent some of these reviews have no clue what a real bagel is supposed to taste like. Originally from NYC, I can say this spot is a welcome addition to the north park area.

Was bummed to find out the egg and in the breakfast sandwich is microwaved??. Great bagels though. So much potential for a killer breakfast sandwich if you just up the bacon and egg game..

I love their bagels! Not only are they delicious, the prices are totally reasonable. I'll definitely be back to try the sandwiches.

Go-to for NYC style bagels in San Diego. Orders come out fast and staff is super friendly. So glad this place opened up in my neighborhood!

Best bagels I?ve had since moving to SD from Jersey. I?m absolutely going to become a regular here!

Second time I?ve asked for bagel extra toasted only to send it back because it wasn?t even regular toasted. The attitude from the cashier is not very friendly. Unnecessary.

Great food, very good service and the lox was fantastic my son stole almost every piece off of my bagel

Great service, bright and clean shop! It's just so unfortunate that the bagels are just bland and the texture is on the dense side.

Every time I arrive I am greeted with a smile and look forward to a delicious gluten free treat and coffee.

Idk, I'm not crazy about this new place. Gone twice now and nothing was like amazing, although nothing was bad either. Eh, try it if you want!

Really friendly staff! Finally a solid bagel spot in NP! Couldn?t be happier with BCB!

New York quality bagels. The jalape?o cheese bagel with cream cheese is??

Perfect chewy fresh flavorful bagels! Love this new spot.

They just opened their new location. Great bagels, great service!
