Truly the best donuts in the city. The flavors are so creative and delicious, they always hit and the flavors rotate seasonally! I believe these are ?mochi donuts? which taste a little like funnel cake donuts imo. Absolutely delicious.
Although Im not in the area often, I always stop by to grab a box of donuts whenever I am in Ktown. Their coffee and scallion cream cheese donuts are top tier albeit every other donut I tried never disappointed. Also, Sophie is so sweet and always has a good energy whenever I come by!
Bear Donut in NYC offers some genuinely tasty donuts, though I have to say they weren't necessarily the absolute best I've ever tried. For the price point, I honestly expected a bit more in terms of an unforgettable flavor or unique experience. On the bright side, the shop itself is nice and clean, and the staff is friendly, contributing to a pleasant atmosphere. It's a solid option if you're in the mood for a good donut, but perhaps not a mind-blowing one.
I love this super yummy donut shop! The worker's are also super friendly and very helpful. They have a wide rage of donuts to pick from. I picked out a Cream Brule Donut for myself. It was sooo good and not overly sweet. I loved it.
This place is AMAZING! Pistachio was my favorite donut but they are all great, very light and airy, not too sweet either. The girl was super nice and patient while I was ordering/paying. Very clean and I like how you can take a peak at the kitchen and see the process. They also have a few places to seat inside. Price is very reasonable.
So good! Their Mochi breakfast sandwiches are soft, chewy and delicious. I also had their ube hot chocolate and matcha latte. The ube hot choclate was like a warm hug and the match latte was so good, it didn?t need any sweetness. My absolute favorite was the scallion cream cheese brionut. Would go back solely for that over and over again.
I enjoy stopping by this shop during my free time. The donuts are very tasty and the drinks are delightful. Each Drink I've had so far never disappoints. I enjoy taking the up on their recommendations especially when you want to try something new on the menu.
The cr?me Br?l?e donut was incredible. It was fluffy and the filling plus the crunch top had the exact taste of cr?me br?l?e. We also had a double milk tea cream filled donut. I wasn?t a fan of the flavor, but my friends loved it. The texture was great and it was filled to the top with cream. I would get this again in a different flavor. Would definitely return!
Bear Donut provides quality donuts, drinks, and service. Open since 2022 this is now a go to place when we visit NYC! When the owner heard I?d visited 3x in 4 days he gave me a free matcha filled donut which they made as a special order since it was early and they weren?t quite made yet! It was incredible - as was the matcha latte, though the last time wasn?t as good/strong as my previous two times. Highly recommended! Coffee toffee donuts are apparently their best sellers.
Absolutely incredible donuts! They?re so light and fluffy, beautiful, and the flavors are delicious! Cannot wait to come back and try more.
I tried double milk tea cream and scallion cream cheese one. It's sooo good. My fav is definitely scallion cream cheese. The perfect balance between green onion and cream cheese. BTW for milkcream one, it can sellout fast so I would recommend coming early.
The creme brulee donut changed my life and I?m not even exaggerating! The staff is so nice and everything (already tried breakfast, donuts and hot drinks myself) is so so so good!
My love and I visited this bakery while staying at the Hyatt Herald Square a few steps away. June and another employee greeted us as we walked in. This bakery was fun, upbeat and clean! We had breakfast at the hotel and the coffee was less than bearable (HA!). The way the donuts are displayed makes it really difficult to decide! Everything looks so scrumptious! Honestly, we picked 4 donuts and can?t remember the names of the ones we ate except that we both chose the Maple Caramel and wow! My love describes
We did not like the donuts too thick. The icing was good but too thick for us. Give me Krispy Kreme anyday.
Such a cute donut shop. Semi-quick service and a variety of flavors. I did not like my donut but my boyfriend liked his. What we ordered: - Oreo Donut (This is a chocolate lovers dream) - Rose Donut (I expected floral but it was a very strong floral taste, it felt like eating perfume. The dough was chewy which I also wasn't a fan of
Excellent donuts! I got one with a friend and he literally said "how is this...fluffy and chewy at the same time?" Very good, fresh-tasting! I definitely want to come back and try their breakfast waffle donut, only available between 8AM - 2PM. The ambiance of the space is extremely weird. It doesn't really smell like a food shop and the floor looks like a bathroom. Definitely more of a grab and go spot.
Just a short walk from the Empire State Building, we found this fabulous and super cute little Donut shop. ?? Honestly the best donuts I've ever had! Loved every bite. Super fluffy and colorful. Their ice teas are also amazing, and you can ask for a sugar-free version. ??
Some of the best doughnuts I have had!!! I loved their double milk tea flavor and the strawberry milk tea both were phenomenal not to sweet creamy and light in flavor. Really loved the doughnut itself aswell just perfectly balanced doughnut. I have also tried the dirty chocolate which the filling is incredible, also got the matcha which I loved but definitely the milk tea flavors are my favorite.
Honestly, I didn?t realize how much fun I?d get from a donut shop. We got attracted by the cute bear and went into an inviting and friendly mochi donut shop. The space is clean and the service was amazing. The manager, Sophie, was the highlight. She is so nice, funny, and helpful. I am so impressed with their products. In fact, it?s the best mochi donut I?ve ever had! My favorite was the lavender and blueberry ones. Seriously, if you?re in the area, ?donut? miss out on this!
The PB&J+ and the Cr?me Br?l?e were my favs! The lemonade was great too. The service was very helpful and kind.
What?s wrong with you people?!? 4.7 stars?!?!? Are you kidding me?!?!? This is a 5 star place all around! I had the best pistachio doughnut here. I mean I ate many different ones but I loved the pistachio one (love pistachio) the doughnut texture, the frosting,it wasn?t too sweet I mean everything was well balanced. So well balance that I wanted to eat 12 allllll by my self. This is my new spot. Service is great, happy faces all around. Shop is clean. I?m sure I?m going to gain a few pounds because I?m
If you haven?t been to Bear Donuts, you?re seriously missing out! Their donuts are next-level delicious ? every single bite is worth the hype. The Cr?me Br?l?e donut is an absolute masterpiece with its perfectly torched top and rich custard filling. The Classic donut is simple, nostalgic perfection, while the Cookies and Cream is packed with flavor and texture that hits all the right notes. And don?t even get me started on the Maple Caramel ? it?s sweet, buttery, and completely addictive. This place absolu
Popped in to escape the rain and had one of the best cream-filled donuts ever. The tiramisu is amazing.
Pretty awesome Korean donuts place near Penn Station that uses mochi in the dough of the donuts making them soft & chewy. We tried the crispy chocolate, which was great & the maple caramel, also good, and the cream filled matcha donut, also delicious. Highly recommended!
Bear Donut was quite a treat with reading a book. Honestly I never have been a huge of cream filled donuts, but the staff member told me that?s one of her favorite and I was tempted to try it. When i say my jaw dropped when i bit into it i mean it, I got the tiramisu one and I cannot express enough on how it hit my sweet-tooth and also have a creamy sensation that i wasn?t not expecting at all. The texture and crispness of the donut was something else, absolutely breathtaking. I had this was some chai I mad
I go here literally all the time. These are some of the best donuts I?ve had in the city. I recommend the matcha donut and any of their mochi donuts. Plus their bear merch is so adorable <3
Fantastic mochi donut!!! Not super impressed by the creme ones but that may just be my personal preference. I wouldn?t recommend coming here just for their coffee either. But I?m so, so glad I got their coffee toffee mochi donut. Probably one of the best (top 3?) donuts I?ve had in NYC
These are delicious donuts. But the cream and creamcheese donut should not be sweet. It threw off the taste for the original cream bagle. The overall taste is good. Wish they didn?t add bacon etc to donuts. That kills the taste of a place special/specific to dessert.
I have four words for you - cream cheese scallion donuts. While the kids enjoyed the more traditional donuts I decided to go for something a bit more savory. It was such a delightful combination of slightly sweetened whipped cream cheese and scallions. The sweet and savory were perfectly balanced. Cannot recommend high enough.
It?s like if Kristy Kreme and Dunkin had a child. Very nice texture and flavor.
Nice place. A lot of options, donuts, balls and drinks. Some donuts are a little too sweet for my taste. The mochi donuts are generally amazing! The filling is so good and less sweet. The donuts are a bit chewy but still airy. Drinks are also good. They also have savory donut waffles, not my fave but my mom liked them.
Cute little shop in Koreatown. Decided to stop by on my way out of town and I certainly don?t regret it. The donuts are certainly more ?cakey? then you?re average donut but very good nonetheless. I tried the chocolate crunch donut and the sour cream scallion donut. Both were good for different reasons. I wasn?t sure about the sour cream donut but it was fantastic. The sour cream is a little more sweet then what you might get on a bagel but it compliments the donut very well. Definitely give this place a cha
Talk about a delightful little treat! Super chewy and a pleasant s?mores flavor. Would stop again, especially if I stayed at the hotel next door. Maybe this shop is why people stay there?
Definitely not as airy as the donuts I?m used to, which isn?t a bad thing! Liked the pink donut a lot but found the pistachio one disappointing. Felt like I was tasting the strength of an extract rather than the actual flavor.
Forget everything you thought you knew about donuts! Bear Donut, a short walk from the Empire State Building, offers the most incredible donuts we've ever tasted. My husband and I couldn't get enough of their classic flavors - light, fluffy, and bursting with flavor. But Bear Donut goes beyond the basics. We fell in love with their pi?a colada milkshake - a tropical dream in a cup, and a must-try for any visit. Their rich hot chocolate was also the perfect way to warm up on chilly mornings. These deliciou
Went here the other day because it looked so cute online! I got the cinnamon apple doffle, it?s two waffles with a whipped cream filling in the center, very messy to eat but super tasty! I also ordered an iced coffee with soft serve which was also very good. Didn?t get to try the donuts because I didn?t have enough room, but they looked good at least! Will definitely come back, all the staff were very nice!
Large variety of mochi donuts, I got the rose and the flavor was there with a good amount of sweetness (could be a little too sweet for some people). Black sesame latte was great and not too sweet. Service was friendly and helpful!
Adorable shop with friendly and attentive staff. Donuts are fantastic as expected. We got Cookies and cream, a double milk tea (!!!!!) And the strawberry. Also an Ube hot chocolate which is my new favorite drink even though it's 80 outside. We'll be back!
Kindest staff ever! I had a great time here with my friend - their sweets are not just nice to look at, but also super tasty. But what I appreciated the most was the kindness of the staff and the vibe that this little cafe has. Will come back ^^
I visited the place even though I'm not a fan of donuts because they caught my eye with their vibrant colors from the window. The taste of their donuts was similar to Dunkin' Donuts. The staff was friendly, and the interior was minimalist. However, as someone who prefers strong coffee, their drink selection leaned more towards refreshing coffee drinks.
My first mochi dount and it was kinda weird. Squishy, yet firm and the ice cream was soft served but hard. The ice cream was sweet potato but had a coconut flavor. I thought it was really good. I would get the ice cream again. The only thing that could of been better for me was the amount of ice cream that went into the cup. It was filled through the donut, which decreased the amount of ice cream and it was already kinda melted by the time I got to the bottom. That wasn't a big deal, just the biggest thing
It's such a cute donut shop with the best mochi donuts. We got 4 donuts in a box. Toasted coconut, coffee toffee, pistachio, and crunch chocolate. The crunch chocolate was my favorite, but the donut was so chewy and not oily. I could eat so many of these. I also ordered a doffle, and it's SO GOOD. The cream is a yogurt whipped cream, and it's FANTASTIC. Highly recommend. Must must try! There's very limited seating, so it's not a cafe where you can sit and chill for a while. I want to come back and try their
My tiramisu donut was yummy but what a sugar bomb! I should not have eaten the entire thing.
Their mochi donuts were very yummy, and their service was very nice, too ??. They had a large variety of donut flavors to choose from. All the flavors sounded very interesting, but I was focused on their Christmas themed donuts this time ??. I was originally planning to get the ice cream on a donut, which looked very yummy, but it was a little too cold when I visited ??. I will definitely come here again for that! Other than their donuts, I also tried their ube hot chocolate. It had a good ube flavoring to
Overall, I'd recommend stopping in at Bear Donut if you're in the area, but not quite a place to go out of your way for. Very friendly staff, clean environment, easy to order, and very clearly branded. The cookies and cream mochi donut was wonderful. The only note I'd give it is that it'd be better warm & fresh, but I'll excuse that because I didn't get there until noon. The brioche PB&J donut had a terrific brioche base, not too dry, but very flavorful on it's own. The PB&J combination was well balanced
BEST DONUTS EVERRRR!!! Coffee is pretty awesome too Absolutely amazing! Everyone?s so friendly and the environment is super clean and cute:)
The mochi donuts here are super good. The chewiness is perfect and the donuts are even good until the next day!! They are a tad oily though but I honestly don't mind since mochi donuts are fried, so it's something to be expected. Flavor wise, I find the more colorful it is, the more chemical it tastes. So I would suggest the original ones, or the coconut and tiramisu one! (The less coloring the better!!)
We passed the donut shop on the way to lunch and I begged my hubby to stop and it was a delicious decision! - Raspberry mochi donut: the mochi donut was chewy and soft. The raspberry icing wasn?t overly sweet - just good amount of sweetness. - Double milk tea cream donut: my favorite! I was nervous for the amount of cream on it but the cream was actually tasted light yet creamy - tasty! I could taste the milk tea flavor in the cream. The donut was soft and fluffy. But yeah, it was a bit messy eating it sin
It?s a good donut. Is it fantastic? No. But they have a variety of options and service is quick and friendly. We took ours to go but I would recommend this place if you?re on the NYC donut tour ;)
Great little donut shop tucked into 31st which we stumbled across. We sampled several of the donuts, and enjoyed 3 of the 4. That's about right, for most donut shops. Definitely fresh! and, Definitely worth a visit! Friendly staff.
??Bear Donuts @New York, NY ???? (quality)??????????? ???? (environment): ?????????? ???? (service): ?????????? This is the cutest and one of the yummiest donut store I have ever been to! ????Not only their donuts are on the next level (both visually and tastiness), the interior of their cafe is also great for photos! ??Their donuts are made freshly every morning and they have many unique flavours! I was having a very hard time choosing a flavour to get hehe, some of the flavours that caught my eyes were:
The BEST donut shop I?ve ever been to! This place was really clean and trendy. I tried several donuts and loved all of them. Not too sweet but sooooo yummy. I don?t want to go to any other donut shop anymore. Also, nice staff! Thanks for helping me choose donuts for my friends. Will visit again soon. ??
This was a cute little donut shop! They had a variety of differ flavors, some basic (reg glazed), some eccentric (rose or lavender). However the their PB&J donut was so amazing! They have hot and cold drinks (friend got Matcha). They have doffles - 2 donut waffle with a yogurt based cream filling (apple or blueberry). I believe their flavors change, so these were ones we had on 4/8/23. Staff was very friendly and patient while we made a slow decision. The place is very clean and they have other merch to bu
Brilliant mochi donuts and nice soft serve lavender ice cream. Both together for $8 makes for a great deal. Mochi donuts are ($3.75) and other larger donuts are ($5). It was soft, chewy and easy to tear and share. They also have coffee, draft milk (5 flavors regular and oat). Most items have Asian inspired flavor options too.
So delicious! Get there early if you want to dine-in because spots fill up quickly.
Pricey donuts with interesting textures. I ordered the classic, raspberry, chocolate and lavender. The chocolate was my favorite because of the cocoa pebbles toppings. The donut has a chewy texture which is really pleasant. I dislike the icing because when you bite into them the icing cracks and it just falls off the donut making a mess. If you want to share and cut with a knife it?s not ideal
One of the best mochi donuts I've had! With a super cute interior and colorful donuts, this is a great place to grab a sweet treat when you're in Midtown. It was my first time and the staff was helpful in providing recommendations. I would have liked to try their brioche creme donuts as well, but when I arrived at 3pm they were already sold out. What I got: - Coffee Toffee Mochi Donut Final thoughts: The coffee toffee donut had a great coffee taste and chewy texture. The icing was a tad sweet and crumble
This place has the best Mochi donuts! The flavors are so cool and unique. The coffee toffee is my favorite and I really liked the lavender flavor as well. They also make a Mochi donut ice cream sundae which I've never seen before. It's perfect for when you have a craving for both of your favorites!! Love this place and highly recommend it!! Also the staff is super friendly and amazing!
If you're craving a creative cloud donut, trendy snapshot, refreshing drink, and top-notch service, this spot has it all. I'd been eyeing it for a month. The only downside is they tend to pack too much ice into their drinks, so you end up with more ice than drink. Just remember to request less ice when you order.
3.25.23 - vibrant looking mochi donuts that mostly hit the mark. We had the tiramisu which was fluffy and tasted just like tiramisu; next was the raspberry, which was tasty, but not a repeat good for me; lastly we went with the plain sugar mochi donut, which was also good, but not something that would bring me back. The space itself is understated and it reminds me a smalltown donut shop. The staff is nice and patient. Overall, it's a fun spot to have a quick sweet snack.
If you love sweeeetttt goodness than this is your spot. Sometimes I want sweet sweet and sometimes I want that subtle sweet. Customer service was great and friendly. Was having a bad day and she really did help. The butterfly drink is perfect if you do not like super sweet. It?s perfect and refreshing.
I had a double milk tea donut and wow! It was so so good! The cream was so light and fresh and it tasted like a tea and I can only recommend this place!
This was my first time stopping into Bear Donut while visiting NYC. I am a big fan of donuts and was curious to check out some of their mochi donuts. Of the mochi variety we tried the Raspberry, Coffee Toffee and Cookies & Cream. We also sampled a Strawberry filled yeast donut. The Coffee Toffee was our least favorite. The Raspberry wasn't bad. The Cookies & Cream was a home run... definitely my favorite of all four! The mochi donut texture was nice. I will say, the icing on the donuts was very crumbly as
Randomly walked by and wow! Boy am I glad I got their donuts. Got 6 donuts, milk tea donut, PJ and jame donut, chocolate hazelnut, yuzu cream cheese, original, and poppy. Their creams are sooo light and delicious it make you want to be covered with them. Their donuts were also airy and light which makes you able to eat more. Their original and poppy were mochi like textures, so if you like mochi donuts you'll like them. Definitely go in and definitely have a bite or twom because they were light, pillowy an
Had the regular sugar, cookies and cream, milk tea and tiramisu, all were amazing!
I had been meaning to visit for the longest time and finally dropped by. I had the double milktea donut, which was fantastic but, the bear coffee?brewed coffee with soft serve?was awesome. Definitely coming back to try everything else!
The Ube Hot Chocolate had a potent ube flavor which I enjoyed. The Matcha Custard & Lavender donuts were also great choices.
I?ve come here 3 times in 2 weeks. We had the rose, pistachio, lavender, toasted coconut, sweet corn and milk tea cream donuts. All were delicious. I?ve had mochi donuts in Taiwan and I can confidently say these were better. It?s not too sweet and the mochi donut?s chewiness is amazing. The bear coffee with soft serve was delicious as well. If you are a fellow donut-lover be sure to check them out!
Yummy mochi and brioche doughnuts. Great drinks too.
I was excited to visit after work (since earlier this week I came but realized they were close on Mondays) because of all the popular reviews - the Donut and soft serve combination was a little over $10 with tax. Which is alright for having two items to try and I had added tip on top of this amount because I asked to pack the donut separate. But in my honest opinion, since I have already tried several mochi donut spots in the city, it was a little high for the lacking portion of soft serve I received. So
I tried Bear on Thursday and it was absolutely amazing! I got the Toasted Coconut Donut & it was really moist & flavorful. Not overly sweet but just right. I also got the Cold Brew with Oat Milk and I have to say it was the best cold brew I've had so far in the city. It has more of a chocolate taste & I'm so obsessed that we stopped by again on Saturday! I tried the fourth of July special with coffee cream and it was delicious! I love their donuts because they are not overly sweet and dense but more light a
Bear Donut is a gem. I don?t eat a lot of mochi donuts and I don?t know why not. These mochi donuts are ridiculous. I got the cookies and cream and it was perfect. The texture of the dough was chewy but also had a donut feel to it. They have all sorts of flavors so I will come back to try more. I wouldn?t order the mochi sandwich thing with the yogurt or whipped cream. Those are premade and not good. Stick with regular mochi donuts.
I?m so sad we?ve only experienced bear and coffee in our last day of our NYC trip! The owners are so sweet and attentive, the pastries and drinks are Instagram worthy and it?s so good! I bought a few extras back home with me! Have a chance to experience this hidden gem of a caf?!
Super cute donut shop! And the staff was friendly. They look great. the consistency is more like a bagel. Very chewy. I got a rose donut & a cookies & cream. The icing was good. I was expecting more of a cake donut so if u go in with clear expectations & u like bagel-like donuts, this is a great place. Very clean. There was even a miniature hot dog stand for decor bc they have hot dog-shaped donuts. Small 2-top tables out front to eat at.
The young kids would say, FIREEEEE! But truly, the best way I could describe these donuts and ice cream (omg esp the ice cream) is, your mouth has an orgasm. A good orgasm, not just the half way ones. I don?t think I knew what a good donut tasted like until I had there?s. Also, the lavender ice cream was insane. Never tasted that flavor before but if I ever do it better be the same. 10/10 recommend.
Adorable donut shop with delicious treats and coffee! The donuts had a funnel cake-like flavor and were amazing. Great texture and flavor combinations! Do not skip this place!!
The donuts are fine. To be fair, I haven?t tried other mochi donuts and have probably hyped them up too much beforehand. However, the icings were way too sweet for my taste and seemingly quite artificially colored and flavored. The donut is light and chewy though and around 1pm on a Thursday there was no line. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Best donut in town!! I love every single donut, I highly recommend the Brionut milk tea, and the tiple chocolate, but all of the brionuts are just perfect, high quality and fresh
I have visited this donut shop multiple times, but my recent experience was disappointing. The donut I purchased today had a strong taste and smell of old oil, indicating that it had been used multiple times and not changed frequently. Additionally, I ordered a new flavor donut with corn flavored cream, but the cream was not soft and the donut was not completely filled. At $5 per donut, I expected better quality. Overall, I'm disappointed with the declining quality of this donut shop and wouldn't recommend
They have two kinds of donuts serving, mochi kind and the common yeast one. Although the mochi donut is their hit, but I personally like the yeast donut better! It was so soft and chewy! Would like to try other flavors next time?? The mochi donut was chewy as well, but I feel like the oil smell and taste was too strong, kinda oily for me. I hope this could be improved a little bit! Otherwise coffee was a delicious flavor.
Service was great! Flavor not so much. Stale tasting. Came at 10am Monday and ordered classic and sugar. They were chewy and not quite what I was expecting given very positive reviews. I would skip it.
I am still dreaming about their tiramisu donut. So good! This place was down stairs from our air bnb and I had a tiramisu donut at least three times while we were there.
Unbeknownst to me at the time, THIS WAS THE BEST DONUT I EVER ATE. I had the cocoa crispies donut. The frosting was velvety smooth and firm at the same time. But the real secret has to be the dough. The flavor is on point and the texture is a while other level - it has a firm exterior with a pillow soft interior, which can be seen when you bite into it. Why are you still reading this?. Just go try one!
Wow. Insanely good mochi donut, totally worth the $4. The icing on its own tastes too sweet and strong but the donut is almost unsweetened, so it evens out. Each bite gets less sweet as you chew, and then you?re hit with the sugar again at the next bite. The dense, soft, chewy donut is contrasted against the creamy icing and crunchy toffee bits. It ticks all the boxes in terms of flavor and texture contrasts to be a top notch dessert. Strong recommend.
My dad brought me some donuts and I didn?t get to try them until the next morning. They were still chewy and doughy! They were packaged well to endure the hour long trip from the city to queens. All the donuts stayed intact. For the flavors of the donuts- I tried the grapefruit poppy seed and I was able to taste the grapefruit flavor. It wasn?t overpowering (which was nice) and the donut itself wasn?t too sweet. I can see why Bear Donut is so popular. Despite the aesthetically pleasing donuts with the eye
This donut shop is my favorite one in NYC! The texture of mochi dough and cream brionut is just right to me! I highly recommend dirty choco and scalion & creamcheese donut.
Staff is great. They have great product(s). Buy your donut and matcha hot choc to enjoy at home where you can take the time to savor each bite.
The mochi donuts are sooooo good! First time trying the donut + soft serve combo and it definitely satisfied my sweet tooth :3 love the atmosphere and decor!
