Tonight was a blueberry stuffed donut and a chocolate glazed with raspberry sauce. Both were excellent! Looking forward to going again and trying more flavors. Such a cute, unique idea of a place!
6/20/25 - tutti fruity and lavender wedding. The tutti fruity was one of the worst things I?ve ever put in my mouth. I don?t know what I even ate. The lavender wedding was decent except that it was drenched in oil like the fryer wasn?t hot enough. I wouldn?t eat these if I was PAID $4-6 a donut, which is what these cost.
These doughnuts will be legit. Mine did not disappoint. Don?t wait too late in the night to pick yours up. They are definitely worth it though. Never have my friends and I enjoyed doughnuts at night so this is different for sure. Different good however.
The concept of this donut shop is very unique. It?s inside a steakhouse but there?s a tiny a tall guy pops out of the window. It was really funny. They flavors of donuts changes every week. I got lucky when I went, the other two flavors were kind of out there. I got the honey butter chicken option. The butter was extremely week so I had to take some off of it. But it was still a good balance of salty and sweet. I?m not sure what they put on top of the donut and there was a tiny flower on it too lol my roomm
Okay I?m going to preface this and say I was not paid to say this at all-BUT when I tell you the donuts I had changed my my entire outlook on life for the better I mean it. And I get ?you?re letting a donut change your mindset? YES I AM- they were that freaking good! My great good friend went for us, because we work across the street in the Austin street for truck park (not naming which one I don?t get paid to advertise hehe) but she had gotten the pulled pork donut and the lemon blueberry donut. Now listen
Love the idea of this, I tried all 4 donut options they had and loved 3/4. The savory one was topped with rattlesnake and rabbit gravy and did not fit well on my taste palette but I guess out of the box for sure.
Nice little hidden spot only open specific hours and days. Not too much of a wait. Menu is always different. They will not change your life, but always cool to stop by and check out the new flavors after a night in Denton.
This is great hidden gem in the back of Queenies by Tim Love. They appear to have 4 flavors a night but it changes as he wants. Our favorites were the cheesecake and the pulled pork donut.
we went tonight for the first time...idk y I thought these w be hot but they r not...cold,dry ...I got the lucky charms, and white chocolate mocha..wcm..was def better...$4.00 each donut..btw they do take cards...gave 3 stars cause guy at window was very nice..I I don't think I will return ...??
When I first went to Back Dough I wasn't the biggest fan because I didn't like what they had. Now me and my cousin go there weekly. We both enjoy it. The bread is really good. The feeling is great. We had creme Brule and it was so good. I also had the steak and cheese and that was good as well. The veggies were good, not slimy and old. We look forward to what flavors they have every week.
Every week they feature 4 unique donuts. One of which is usually a famous food that has been converted into donut form.
This place makes beautiful fried treasures. I always love the savory donuts, but I have never had anything here that wasn't excellent.
Back Dough feels like one of the best kept secrets in the DFW area. The concept is pretty simple. They're only open for a few hours weekly on both Friday and Saturday nights, and they operate out the back of a popular Steakhouse. There are only ever two items, maybe three on their menu, $6 each. These menu items most commonly come in the form of a gourmet donut, but tonight showed me they sometimes spice things up (tonight offered an Italian steak and pepper sandwich!) Tonight's donut offering was Tiramisu
I personally would give this 5 stars, but I was with 2 others who didn't nearly as enjoy it as much as me. These donuts are different than most - they are more like buttery croissant style biscuits with glaze, frosting, or filling. They came out warm and excellent. The service was intriguing as you basically walk up to a back door and order out of it. There is no place to sit, so everyone was standing at the street corner just enjoying it. Again, I thought it was an awesome experience, but my wife and cousi
Had been wanting to try this place for awhile and it did not disappoint!! I had a lemony custard donut that was the perfect texture and not overwhelmingly sweet like most donuts are. I also had a margarita ice pop that was really good. The lady at the window was super friendly!
Back dough is absolutely delicious. It's a literal hole in the wall food stop, but the idea of a restaurant specifically for us night hours is awesome if you ask me. they don't open on any night besides Friday and Saturday which doesn't help when I have a doughnut crave, but the wait for it to open is so worth it in my opinion.
Only open 11pm-1am sets the bar high, $4 per donuts sets it even higher. I came on 2/23/19 and got the Cheesy Salmon Herb donut. I just wasn?t impressed, and didn?t even finish it. Maybe my expectations were wrong, maybe I just wasn?t hungry enough, maybe I just came on the wrong night. The other flavors weren?t too appealing to me either. Bottom line, I wouldn?t recommend this place to one of my friends, but I would give it another chance, as the menu always changes, and surely I wouldn?t be as hard to pl
After arriving home from waiting in line for 20minutes to get four chocolate samoa themed donuts, we realized that our donuts weren?t filled with chocolate. We had gotten them Saturday night and came back on Sunday for more, they were oozing out with chocolate on Saturday so I expected the same. Upon inspection, most of the donuts were empty and one had a pinch of chocolate. It was our mistake at not checking them after receiving them. What a waste of money and time, we were clearly disappointed and angry
These Donuts are fantastic! I will literally carve out time on Fridays and Saturday evenings to go up there and get some, not only are they delicious but the entire staff and restaurant itself is so cool and laid-back and everyone is as nice as can be! I would definitely definitely recommend this place to anyone oh, it's a true gem!
It is ok if you are like for something different and new I think this place could be better if the customer didn't have wait at the back door like in the the slavery days. I'm tired of people taking the name of their businesses literally. I think the Donuts could have been a little better if they cook them more I had the hamburger donut and it didn't have a taste at all even with the cheese and grill onions now that is bad. So that's why they are getting the three ?? instead of the five they lost two for t
I went on 11/09/2018 and bought 2 maple donuts, and one jalape?o and cream cheese one. They give them to me, and They put all of them on the same tray. The hot sauce (tabasco) mixed with the sweet donuts; and made it gross. I came back to get them replaced and the cashier went ahead and did that. One of the cooks (a female) starts saying stuff about me because I wanted my sweet donuts with no tabasoco. Then the male cook remakes the food; and didn?t wear gloves. I brought it up, and they said they wash thei
Amazing after a few drinks, but you'll definitely need to invest a chunk of time to get it. It takes quite awhile to make it through the line before ordering, even if you get there before they open at 11. Some options can be amazing, but other times they're just OKAY. Depends on the night. LTO favourite so far has been their tenderloin beef stew with an onion ring ontop.
I love buying a grand slam and sharing it with the family. We take them to Oak Street and debate which one is the best. I've had a lot of fancy doughnuts from major cities around the world and these are easily my favorites. Everything about the experience is really fun.
Make sure you get there right when they open because they will run out! We went last night and waited in line for 45 min, only to find out they ran out. Still giving five stars though because they gave us free donut holes for the inconvenience! And they were delicious. We will definitely be back to wait in line again, hopefully they won?t run out this time!
Not for picky eaters! This tiny GEM is unique in it's brave conquest for new and exciting donut creations! Menu is everchanging, (salmon/pineapple/potato..)always something NEW to try! Service is friendly and professonal. Flavors & service are worth every buck, a good investment:) Arrive early, time & portions are limited!
Delicious donuts. Limited hours so get in line quick before you miss it.
This was my second visit ... I wasn't disappointed either trip. You gotta try it!
This is a Denton staple, if you're in town on a Friday or Saturday around 10pm you have got to try it
Get there early! One flavor sold out in 15 minutes...
This place is worth staying up for. They make all kinds of fun and weird flavors, both sweet and savory. I love seeing the new rotation of flavors.
Such a wonderfully Denton experience. Steaky steak donut was top notch. Hilarious venue. Wonderful service.
Wasent open the time they said it was open and even said on the sign it was having them 15-16 but when we showed up they said it?s closed wth awful
Awesome donuts, a very unique experience. Highly recommend them if you're in Denton after hours.
Delicious, quick, and super friendly!
Great location and phenomenal donuts!
Creative and fun but the doughnuts are just good not great, still worth it for the creativity and the atmosphere.
Thai Tea donuts were awesome!
My goal in life is to try all their donuts and not get fat.
Indulgent! Worth the wait in line!
Friendly staff and great doughnuts that change daily!
Great late night doughnut run! A must try!!
Pretty good. Variety changes every week.
Usually 5/5 But last time the staff was unnecessarily rude.
OMG this place is the best. Everyone needs to try this place.
The second time was better than the first.
The savory donuts are the best.
Is this real life, or is this just fantasy?
A MUST TRY!!!! excellent doughnuts!!!!
OMG! This place is to for for!
