Babes Ice Cream & Donuts

Went in for a few donuts for my vegan daughter, $ 48. later left with 4 donuts, a churro, 2 scoops of ice cream and 2 "paninis". The paninis were not on bread, but a flat thin type of " bread". They were still good; it's what's on the inside that counts ?? All of these were for 4 of us to share. I still have some ice cream left. ???? (A lot of sweets for one day).

Went to this place ad tried the mint chip and double chocolate brownie I believe it was and they were delicious! The chocolate one was my favorite it was just so balanced it wasn?t too much at all!. I didn?t get a chance to try the apple fritter but I?ll definitely be back to try it! Definitely recommend

We loved all of the donuts we got. Our favorites were the apple fritter (it was the best I've ever had), the french toast donut, and the cherry pie donut! Everything was incredible though and I highly recommend you check them out!

Great service. Very tasty ice cream. Their desserts looked amazing, and the coffee smelled so good. They have inside and outside seating, although it is somewhat limited. They serve their whole menu all day, including breakfast. Portions were very generous. I want to come back here for breakfast, and get some donuts and coffee. Vegan and gluten-free options readily available! They have restrooms inside. Parking on J St is paid Mon-Sat, but you can usually find free street parking on 25th.

It was nice to find an ice cream place when it was 90+ degrees outside. Got an affogato to help me awake for the drive home. Got a few donuts for the road too. Not a big fan of vegan donuts but they were good. Enough to keep me sustained for the drive back to The Bay.

I stopped in on a weekday afternoon and they were out of half of their ice cream flavors. Staff acted like that was normal. With the limited selection available, I opted for the chocolate nutella swirl. Its texture was more like a mousse than an ice cream, but it did have a rich flavor.

OMG! Everything is vegan and gluten-free and is so delicious. I had one scoop of the strawberry shortbread ice cream in a cup! It was one of the best vegan ice creams I have ever had! It was so rich and creamy and it is coconut-based. It reminded me of the strawberry shortcake bars I used to get as a kid from the ice cream truck only the grown-up adult version! I didn't believe it was real. Delicious gluten free donuts, and non-dairy ice cream. But it's real. I recommend everything. Donuts were crispy and delicious like they should be, not cakey. They also have gourmet coffee. I had the seasonal pumpkin latte with oatmilk and it paired oh so perfectly with a chocolate cruller. Don't miss this place. Whether you are on gluten free diet, vegan diet, or just looking to be a locavore, this place is a must.

Yum! We tried the maple, strawberry, and s'mores donuts, and also a churro.. keep in mind that this place is going to be pricier than your typical neighborhood donut shop. They're more gourmet, but they are rich in flavor and very dense and filling. Most donuts are only $2 each which is fair in my opinion. The strawberry donut was amazing. I don't think they're as sweet as your typical donuts at your donut shops. They're returning natural flavor.

This is a lovely little gem of a place, a vegan creamery where you can actually try the flavors and donuts too! They also offer things as milkshakes as well. :3

I took my grandson to get donuts and he got the chocolate sprinkles and then I got a mix of donuts to share with my daughter. We ended up splitting all of them and boy were they good! We really liked the blueberry one and the chocolate one! Can't wait to go back!

Yay all vegan spot for ice cream and donuts open late. We went on a Saturday night. Boy oh boy was it busy and the donut selection was low. We've been wanting to try them for awhile. The ice cream was yummy but not out of this world. I would go back to support local and vegan. Employees were nice.

Fast & friendly service. Gluten free doughnuts are of course a rare and amazing treat, but today?s selection, I must say wow! Today I had the churro doughnut, and it was awesome! I am not a morning person but happened to be in the area about 8:30 today. There were a lot of amazing choices, so I got several doughnuts. I tried the churro one and wow! It was still a little bit warm and truly amazing. Now I understand why churros are such a big deal at Disneyland??. So when you can?t decide I highly recommend

I am THRILLED I discovered this place! I had to go back two days in a row for their paninis, and will certainly be a regular after testing a few options. The cheese is delicious and perfectly melted, which can be difficult to find with vegan varieties, and they?re so flavorful. Very fair prices compared to some other vegan eateries. Definitely don?t overlook the panini menu!

I?m so glad Babe?s exists in Midtown! The food is absolutely delicious, and their ice cream is a must-try. It?s great to have a spot like this that offers such amazing plant-based options. Highly recommend checking it out!

The donuts are insanely good! I never buy just one, but today (3.3.24) I am especially impressed with the Nutella themed ice cream! It is creamy and smooth, rich but not too sweet, and rather like a mousse. It has chunks of something chocolaty that perfectly complement the smooth cream. I would love this on my next ice cream cake or even in an ice cream pie. They better keep making it! ??????

This place is amazing! The BlackBerry sorbet tasted like fresh blackberries. The churros are some of the best I've had and the grilled cheese was awesome!

The ice cream is wayyyyy too sweet (I had the carrot cake with blueberry cobbler and both had the same problem). I couldn't even finish it and had to throw half of it. Donuts were decent though.

I don't visit often due to living in the unincorporated parts of Sacramento, but when I do, it's always a pleasant experience. Staff are always friendly and helpful. No pressure. I follow a vegan lifestyle, so of course, that's the biggest plus for me. I also love sweets, and everything always tastes wonderful. I like that they offer coloring for kids. This little shop always looks clean and well kept.

Pretty good! It's nice to find a gluten-free donut place with tasty donuts. Recommend items we sampled were the maple french cruller and the Nutella donut holes. The cruller had a great outer texture, and the flavor was spot on. I could eat about a million nutella donut holes, we'll leave it at that. The ice cream was also great - we tried the chocolate peanut butter fudge. We'll definitely stop in again next time we have to come to Sac.

We were very excited to try this place, as we love supporting vegan establishments. That's why I'm not giving less than 3 stars. I still appreciate what they're trying to do. The donuts are beautiful, but they really lack on flavor and texture. My kids didn't even enjoy them, and that's saying something. We didn't finish the dozen we bought.

Went here two days in a row for ice cream. Never had vegan ice cream before, but it is delicious! Staff is super friendly too! And they have activity sheets for the kids which is cool!

A true delight. Came here 3 times during a long weekend in Sacramento. I have celiac and this was like walking into the promised land!!!! Even my ant-gluten free family members were floored (and wanting to return!) the service was incredible and the coffee was great as well! Super reasonably priced!!!! Stay away from this place! The staff are rude and miserable. I actually feel sorry for their souls. I don't understand if you work at a vegan establishment, which is supposed to be an uplifting environment with good vibes, how can one come to work and be so miserable. The cashier was rude to me, so I matched the energy and gave it back to her. If you don't like your job, then QUIT and find a HAPPIER place that suits your needs. To say the least, I returned the donuts and the breakfast and requested a refund

I've been a long time fan of Pushkin's. As someone who is celiac I appreciate the dedication and care they put into all of their different menus. The added fact that my fiancee is dairy free makes Pushkin's, Babe's and Sibling all fantastic places for us to go. Over the hundreds of dollars I've spent on donuts over the years I don't think I've ever had a bad one.

I?ve gone to Babes on two trips to Sacramento and I?m sitting here trying to make up excuses for another trip so I can go back again. Amazing flavor ideas that are executed in the most delicious way. I am very much not a vegan nor am I gluten free but I can?t wait to have their ice cream again!

I came to this place to get a dessert and ended up getting three: the chocolate ice cream, the churro and the donut with sprinkles. All three were delicious, not too sweet and yet sweet enough, and the store is very cute. I really recommend this place to vegans (and non-vegans) as you won?t be disappointed!

Great selection of donuts and ice cream. Tasty! We look forward to the donut of the month. Staff is friendly. There is metered parking along the street. You may have to park a block or two and walk to Babes but it's a pretty active street with other places to visit along the way.

The donuts are dry and rubbery. The ice cream is oftentimes a hit and miss: the first time I ate here, I thought they were the best ice cream ever; recently however, they don?t seem to taste that good; their taste keeps on changing. The atmosphere is also weird and depressing. It had so much potential, but couldn?t deliver.

Possibly the best ice cream I have ever had. I walked in expecting small scoops for kind of high prices, which is not uncommon for vegan ice creams. Gone are the days where gluten-free and vegan items taste like ??... I had a maple cruller and spiced pear sorbet, both very good. Prices fair for what and where it is. Wish the cones weren't as pricey though.

I'm moving out of state in a couple weeks and the only thing I'm going to miss is Pushkin's, Babe's & Sibling's.......if yall can figure out a way to ship out to Alaska you will have your number one customer there. Attractive donuts with tender dough and cooked to perfection. But the taste of old fryer fat lingers on the pallet.

Ice cream and baked goods are always good. Caprese panini was the greasiest thing I've ever eaten and the bread was thinner than typical for a sandwich (more like a wrap or pita) but it tasted great. Staff could be a little more polite but the service is always fast and smooth anyways, so no big deal.

A must place to try if you cannot have gluten or are vegan! Their pastries are so good!

The donuts and ice cream were underwhelming and expensive. The thing that will keep me from ever returning was the service. I came in with a friend and her child and both employees were rude to us on sight. There body language gave off palpable disdain. Very uncomfortable for everyone and completely unjustified.

I've tried hundreds of gluten free baked goods and these are by far the best doughnuts I have ever eaten. The vegan ice cream was also delicious. Would definitely come back again and again and again (even if I shouldn't eat that many sweets!!)

Delicious vegan donuts! Clean and inviting store. You can even see the kitchen where they make everything fresh. They are a little heavy handed with the frosting, but the frosting is quite flavorful! Creative ice cream and donut flavors, it?s fun to try something new every once in a while :)

Went on a Sunday evening around 4 o?clock. It was not busy. We arrived with our four children and started placing our orders right away. The two front people looked irritated that we were even in the building had frown on and faces of frustration. We completed our transaction within five minutes as we felt rushed, and honestly like they did not want us in the building. Will not be returning because of the horrible customer service!

I saw so many high reviews for Babes. I'm a gluten-free vegan ~ so my partner and I were hyped to try it out. We bought five treats and were eager to dig in. The Almond Joy donut was yummy. Really wonderful to see an all vegan dessert bistro! The iced teas are delicious as well! The portions are smaller and perfect compared to the giant non vegan pastries and donuts. I guess in a gluten free, vegan kinda world I would have been remarkably impressed, however I don't make it a habit to be gluten free or vegan. Wow! Wow! Wow! I wish one was in Africa. Positively the best raspberry lemon sorbet I have every eaten. I also had the apple fritter. I couldn't believe that it was vegan. Absolutely amazing... Ice cream honestly was better than most "normal" ice cream shops, but we also got to accommodate our family's dietary restrictions for celiac and other dairy/lactose related issues. My family and I were blown away.
