Customer Reviews

The dollar hints were good - the breakfast burrito was excellent. Good flavor and tasted freshly prepared.

I was visiting from out of town and my coworkers had recommended Babe?s. It did not disappoint. Great service, nice vibes. The breakfast sandwixh I ordered - bacon egg and cheese - was amazing. Will definitely return to try out other things on the menu for my next visit to Tuscaloosa.

Great breakfast burrito and donut options, both relatively healthy and appropriately unhealthy. Fresh hot coffee too. Opens early at 6a which is great when you're on a schedule. Will definitely be back!

The only cafe in Tuscaloosa with stunning ocean view tables ?? ??? ?? ! The breakfast and doughnuts are absolutely delicious. Definitely a must visit spot!

OMG! We were in Tuscaloosa for business and Babe's was recommended to us. So glad we went. The doughnuts were delicious. They have great breakfast options on the menu. Try it...you'll be glad you did.

Great breakfast sandwich and donut holes! They had fresh donuts and hot sandwiches which were made while we waited a very short time. Indoor and outdoor seating but the indoor was tight. We waited about 15 minutes to have our order taken but it was worth it!

First time coming to this donut shop in Tuscaloosa! I got donut holes, Oreo donut, maple bacon donut, and a jalape?o kolache. All the donuts were amazing and my jalape?o kolache was so delicious! The person at the cashier could have smiled more but other than that I had a great experience and would come again!

We were only in town for the day but, as usual, I had been thorough with my foodie research! It's such a beautiful space & the variety is phenomenal. Not to mention how friendly the guys that worked there were. There were quite a few drink options to choose from (lavender matcha anyone?) as well.??I managed to snag the last two bacon maple doughnuts & I was so happy! I will definitely return if ever I find myself in Tuscaloosa again.??

Best doughnuts! The kolaches are fantastic, specifically the jalapeno one. The honey butter biscuit is great and my wife gets it every time. Apple fritters are amazing. The cappuccino is good. Give it a try it is a great place!

Glad I found this little gem, the donuts are absolutely the best. The southwest breakfast burrito are so filling and just right for a morning breakfast. If you're in Tuscaloosa, you definitely need to give this place a try.

If you're not eating at Babes you're wasting your breakfast. Absolutely delicious food. An amazing caramel latte and the best donuts in Alabama. I've been coming for years and I will keep coming every time I'm in Tuscaloosa.

Babe's has great donuts and coffee! They have a number of specialty donuts including maple bacon and Sesame Street-inspired creations. They recently added a bear claw with apple cinnamon filling - yum! You always get a couple of extra donut holes thrown in, too!

Great little donut spot, the old fashioned was very good, the maple could have had a bit more maple flavor.

Great breakfast sandwiches and the donut choices are plentiful.. Must go place right near the strip..

Coffee was TERRIBLE. Like, awful. Maple bacon donut was gross, kaloche was good. Wouldn?t be back. Yuck.

The donuts were a bit sweet and oily for me, but each region has their own preferences

Babe?s is always delicious. My family and I have been coming since they opened, I think around 2017. My oldest son loves coming here to see his ?Doughnut Friend? Rich, who is always so nice. I love their Conecuh Sausage Kolaches and their Southwest Bowl the most but their steak egg and cheese croissant is also delicious. Their doughnuts are top notch. Hard to beat their apple fritters and their blueberry cake doughnuts. My wife loves their maple bacon and cinnamon twists and my oldest son loves the Fruity P

What a wonderful breakfast spot. The food is delicious, well priced, with a great atmosphere and friendly service ??

Donut was favorable and satisfied my sweet tooth. Lots of variety to choose from! I would like to come back and try the honey butter biscuit

The donuts are really good and I was pleasantly surprised that I got a couple of donut holes in addition to the donut I ordered. What I was not expecting was the coconut glaze on the glazed donuts. It was good! I'm not normally a coconut person. I also ordered a breakfast sandwich. So, if you order a donut by itself you'd probably be spending around $5 per person. Definitely a good treat!

Bacon. Doughnut. Need i say more? Ok, I can! Everything in this place is extremely creative and delicious! Would definitely recommend to anyone with a sweet tooth. They also have great coffee and kolaches. Excellent customer service. Very friendly. Give it a try!

The donuts are life changing!?? I also got some kelaches (sp?) that were delicious. Friendly staff. Highly recommended!

This is the best iced latte I've ever had. Honey Lavender. Try it. It's the bomb. Cute little spot. The donuts look good but my goodness this latte is wonderful.

My favorite place to get donuts and a breakfast sandwich. The tacos are pretty good too! You can sit inside or outside. Customer service is awesome too! Thank you Babes. ??

The best donuts in Tuscaloosa! Great service and many variety of flavors. Great selection of breakfast sandwiches and drinks to make a great start to the day

Bacon, egg, and cheese croissant was absolutely perfect. Bacon was cooked to perfection, and they were not skimp about it...was a good 4 pieces of bacon! The croissant was fresh and the egg was fried just right. Amazing breakfast. the doughnuts here are superb as well, can't go wrong with anything on the menu!!

I?ve tried to go by at lunch 3 times. I was there bf one and all 3 times they were closed. It?s 12:28 right now and they r closed. Bad business!

The donuts and coffee were amazing, but the customer service is TOP notch! The young man often working recognizes me, has my order memorized, and goes above and beyond making small talk with me. It's such a personalized experience you won't get anywhere else. Highlight of my week are trips to Babe's!

Food was delicious but staff was uptight and kind of rude. The honey butter chicken biscuit was amazing and the steak breakfast burrito was also really good. However, the person checking us out wasn't very friendly. The case of donuts had no labels on it and the sign didn't explain what all of the donuts were so I had to just kind of guess at which one I wanted. When they rung it up they said the name and it included "hazelnut" so I said oh I'm sorry can I get a different kind actually I didn't realize it h

Super cute donut shop. Great lattes and donuts!

Donuts are terrific. Coffee a bit strong but nice and hot

After a quick lunch, my friend and I walked to this establishment for a quick sweet treat on our way back to work. While one of the gentleman who appeared to be exiting the store was very welcoming and friendly, my friend and I were never greeted or recognized by the sole blond male who was working there. He appeared to be washing dishes, but never acknowledged our presence, and we stood there waiting. After a while, we left, having never been spoken to. Such poor customer service...

My go-to order is the avocado, egg, and cheese bagel. It's always delicious and the customer service is warm and welcoming. I love to stop here on my way to work sometimes.

Oh, mama?this is some of the best food in Tuscaloosa. I religiously eat their honey butter chicken on a croissant. Sometimes I also grab little mustard packets for an extra pizzazz. You?re welcome in advance? All of the doughnuts are AWESOME!!! Seriously the best in town. Tender (soft? what?s the right word for baked goods?), tasty but not overly sweet, and their flavor profile is definitely specific to the specialty (ie a peanut butter chocolate doesn?t just taste meh with some toppings, it?s all throughou

I am usually not a Donut guy, but this place definitely made me reconsider that sentiment. Babe?s offers several types of donuts from a simple glazed donut to a very cute and deluxe Cookie Monster Donut (with a chocolate chip cookie on the donut!) When I first went to Babe?s I ordered the Southwest Breakfast Bowl, the fruity pebble donut, a mixed berry donut, an apple fritter and a red velvet donut. All of the items were tasty, and they even threw in donut holes too! Great place to keep coming back to, sinc

The staff at this shop are so so nice, I almost feel bad writing this review. But the last time I ordered a matcha latte from here, I found a dead COCKROACH in my drink. You can tell it had been dead for a while because it was completely drained of color ??. The store did immediately refund the cost of my drink and were very apologetic, but I ended up not even eating the rest of my order because I was afraid to find more bugs. It?s been about a week since this happened and I can?t stop thinking about how I

Our go to bakery in town. Really good donuts; my favorites are the standard glazed and blueberry cake, but I've never had one I didn't like. Tasty kolaches too, if you're wanting something savory. Always worth stopping in.

Awesome donuts unique selection! Friendly staff! My iced Americano was delicious... it hit the spot!

I?ve always heard about how good Babe?s is, but I feel like COVID might have affected their business. The Honey Lavender tasted fine - if anything, it was too bitter for my taste. For a donut shop, the smell inside the store bothered both me and the friend I came in with. It definitely didn?t smell like a Krispy Kreme? When we walked in, the two workers behind the counter didn?t acknowledge us. When the guy moved to the cash register, he said nothing to prompt my order. Though the coffee tasted fine, I?d say

Not impressed, reading the reviews I was expecting more but we only received dry doughnuts and a chewy/tough croissant. We arrived at 8 am I would imagine everything would have been fresh. But instead everything tasted a couple days old.

I went in on a whim one morning and ordered a honey butter chicken biscuit. It was really gross. Too sweet and the biscuit didn't taste right at all. I never turn down a honey butter chicken biscuit and I couldn't finish this one. And it was way too expensive. I was the only person sitting down in there. Everyone else who came in looked like they were an intern getting donuts for the lawyers at the courthouse a block away. I did have a lavender drink that was delicious though. Some kind of latte I think? I

The best donuts in Tuscaloosa! The Kolaches are great too. Babes donuts are the donuts I buy when I'm doing a sells meeting and need to take breakfast. I love them myself and it feels good supporting a local business. Try the bacon maple donut if you like a little salty and sweet together, its great! RTR

Ohhhhh, Babe?s! My favorite coffee shop! It?s small and cozy; you honestly feel the love once you walk in! Bomb, 10/10; highly recommend. ????????????

Such a cute corner donut bakery and quick breakfast stop. The minute you walk in the door you are greeted with a smile and welcome - not to mention the AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS SMELLS of freshly baked goods and coffee. Nice breakfast choices that you can enjoy in the quaint dining area or outside in the warm morning sun (or shade - your choice). If you're in the area, you'd be silly if you didn't stop and grab something to nosh and enjoy the vibe.

A wonderful road trip discovery. Donuts are fresh and amazing. I'm an espresso drinker...their drip coffee is very good. We're going there everyday until we leave town. I hope they will start shipping donuts.

Yummy donuts, friendly staff and a cute little rustic chic shop, not much more you can ask from a donut shop. Traffic, as usual in downtown Tuscaloosa is a pain, but worth it for those tasty treats. They do tend to sell out of the extra delicious ones early so I recommend going before 8 if you want one of the red velvet ones.

Local favorite for coffee and donuts in downtown not far from campus. Coffee was hot and fresh. Donuts were also good. Other pastries available. Only take away or some outside seating area. Plenty of free parking .

Great donut shop in downtown area! Many varieties of donuts, kolaches, and breakfast sandwiches. Good coffee too!

Excellent donuts! It's nice to have a selection that is not one of the two national chains. The donuts are always very tasty, and the selection is typically very good. I like their apple fritters, their old fashioned cake donuts, and the custard filled ones.

I would like to say I had a stellar experience, but I didn't. I would also like to say that I would be back as a customer, but I can't. I came into the store January 29, 2023 and ordered two coffee's two doughnuts and two apple fritter for my wife and I. When I asked if the apple fritter could be heated the guy behind the counter said yes. When I came up to pay for the items he takes a brown sack out of the microwave sitting beside the cash register and throws it on the table and rings everything up. I

The first doughnut placed that I have tried in Tuscaloosa and it made quite the impression! Ordered large coffee, and half dozen doughnuts. Toppings: bacon, elmo iced, blueberry, original glaze, and chocolate iced sprinkle. Very good.

My fianc? and I love Babe?s, it?s really a special treat for us and even more so since we have not visited them since lockdowns in 2020. We went today, Saturday 7/23/2022, to treat ourselves after visiting local Farmer?s Market. I ordered 2 donuts, 2 jalape?o and cheese croissant pigs in a blanket(already made), and 1 bacon, egg, and cheese croissant that has to be prepared. The restaurant was not busy, there were 2 ladies and us seated waiting on our orders. Business starts picking up and we have been wait

Stopped by Babe's to pick up some treats as I heard it was really delicious. It's a very cute little coffee shop/cafe. It's nicely designed, and feels very homey. They have doughnuts, fritters, and kolaches, as well as some breakfast and lunch type sandwiches and biscuits. I stopped in just minutes before close and no one was irritated that I cut it so close, so that's nice. The gentleman who rang me up was quiet but had a pleasant smile. I got a chocolate glazed doughnut and a Nutella doughnut. Now,

Babe's is one of my favorite breakfast places in Tuscaloosa. I'm there at least once a week. The doughnuts are good but the best thing on the menu is the Bacon Egg & Cheese Croissant!

Always delicious. Good coffee, excellent chicken biscuit. Strongly recommend the plain glazed doughnut, it's the best there is.

I liked my coffee and the girl taking my order was kind. However, as a vegan and someone trying to lower their waste-footprint this is not the place to go. All their cups are either paper with plastic lining or plastic for cold drinks. They don't have any reusables, but they do allow for you to bring in your own cup if it's clean, so that's a good option. They also have almond and soy milk. The ambiance is an interesting mix of homey/industrial with mostly high bar chairs and one couch. Sad to say they didn

This is a great donut shop with spots to eat inside and outside. There is a huge variety of fresh donuts.

I highly recommend the maple bacon donut. Get there early because they do run out. Ive had many donuts from here and have not been disappointed with any of them. I also enjoyed the chicken biscuit it was delicious.

A great selection of donuts, coffee, breakfast sandwiches, and even kolaches.

We love babes! The lavender latte is my favorite coffee choice in town. The doughnuts are always delicious and their menu items are so good as well

I've been visiting since Babe's opened and I still love it just as much. This is by far the best donut place around. They also have other tasty breakfast items you'll learn you need in your life.

Cashier was friendly and effortlessly helpful, naturally talking about the doughnuts in front of me as I oogled. Had the Nutella Bismarck, jalapeno sausage and cheese kolache, doughnut holes and iced cold brew. The cashier tossed in a couple doughnut holes for free. They were perfectly light and airy with the perfect doughnut to glaze taste. One of the best doughnut holes I've ever had. The Nutella Bismark was stuffed with Nutella and the doughnut was deliciously light and airy. A complete over indulgen

This place has great donuts, and they're so inexpensive! They also have really good coffee, however if you go before 8am they only have like 3 types of donuts and they were kinda stale.

I went in to purchase a doughnut for the first time. I purchased a specialty doughnut for $2.71 cents. I gave the employee at the cash register a $5.00 bill, he did not give me change and refused to. I said " are donoughts $5.00?" He said "yes". " Isaid look at the price sheet" and told him I gave you a $5.00 bill. He still refused to give me change. I left the doniught on a table and walked out. I will NEVER come back. What a nasty experience.

I like the donuts, but just drove here and they had closed 20 minutes before even though their google hours said they were open for another 5 hours. (Apparently they have ?winter hours?) Might not have been a big deal if I didn?t leave an hour a half away and would have been able to go if their hours were listed correctly. You need to make sure your business information is accurate online.

Babe's is great for breakfast, a snack, or catching up with friends. The lavender honey latte is delicious and their donuts come with free donut holes in the bag, plus they have a great kolache.

Donuts are delicious! So many different and unique flavors to choose from! The chicken biscuits are to die for!! My favorite breakfast stop now!

From classic espressos to bagel sandwiches to doughnuts and the honey chicken biscuit you can not go wrong! Highly recommend the maple bacon doughnut!

Babe's isn't a doughnut shop, it's an experience. Everything found here is amazing, from the homemade doughnuts with incredible flavors to the delicious kolache baked fresh daily. Words can't do it justice. Try it yourself.

Very good donut & coffee place. Most folks get their order to go, but you can sit down and enjoy. Tasty food and friendly employees!

Stood in line for more than an hour and neither the donuts nor the sandwiches were worth it. One of the donuts tasted like old grease, the other 5 tasted like standard fare from Dunkin.

I wish 0 stars were possible. They just (Sat 5/16/2020) sold me 2 stale donuts for $6! I trashed them! If they?re gonna charge $3/donut they should make sure they?re fresh.

This place is way better than KK donuts and Dunkin. I ordered red velvet, blueberry, maple bacon and regular donuts. They are all delicious.

Maple bacon doughnut!!!??. Top notch!! The lightness of the doughnut and the perfectly crafted blend of flavors!!!! My doughnut shop in Dallas shut down and I have been jonesing for some quality..... thank you babes!! You have helped me reach satisfaction!!!!!

Best doughnuts in town. Great food, great coffee and great service. Good place to go if you need a quick coffee and some breakfast

I went here almost every week during college and the other location when visiting my friends at A&M. Great donuts, good people who run both locations.

Love It! Smaller portions, but lower prices so you eat healthy and indulge light or go all out and pig out with sprinkles and bear claws. Friendly staff, yuppie enviro.

BEST donuts ever! Apple fritter donut is the best. Perfect cappuccino too. And a great selection of breakfast wraps!

Bacon, egg and cheese crossaint, coffee to eat in and a doughnut to go. I was happily surprised to see a few doughnut holes thrown in the bag. The guy behind the counter was killing it. Highly recommend!!

#EatLocal Babe's is the bomb! The lavender honey latte is sneaky good. Not what i expected but i loved it. The service is was great too!

Carry out only for now. The staff politely asked a woman without a mask to go back to her car and get it. Sandwiches, donuts, and coffees are top k notch.

I had their delicious breakfast and cake.It is the best I want to give 10 star. The personal service is fast and very friendly. Get location by the lakefront.Thank Babe?s Love you

Im mostly giving a five for the apple fritter alone. I love that thing... It's the best I've eaten anywhere. The rest of the doughnuts are not bad either, but that fritter... ??????

Great service and excellent food. Probably the best bacon, egg and cheese biscuit I've had in 6 months! I will definitely return

Good coffee, but the doughnuts we're a bit bland. I couldn't decide if they were trying to be a hipster doughnut shop or a neighborhood doughnut shop, but I don't think I'd go out of my way to go back.

Excellent coffee and donuts. The honey chicken biscuit is amazing and you can even substitute the biscuit for a croissant!

The CINNAMON ROLL donut was AWESOME!!! Don't remember the name but it tasted JUST LIKE A CINNAMON ROLL without the frosting, it was great!!! I'll be back ??????

The doughnuts are just part of the craze that is Babe's doughnuts. The breakfast wraps offer such variety & addition to the pastry & doughnuts of course.
