Ava's Donuts

Cute shop and good sized donuts. Love they variety. I prefer yeasty and my sister prefers cakey donuts - this place has both. Even offer a few flavors for fillings. Service was straight forward without "friendly" small talk. I will return for some delicious donuts!

I?ve been coming here for 1.5 years every week on Tuesday and Friday with an average order of: 1 dozen 1 half dozen 2 drinks Check your receipts. Apparently they?ve been overcharging and double taxing since opening. They also lost me as a consumer today. I dropped my coffee. Knowing that I?m a routine customer, they didn?t offer me a free drink replacement or a discount. Considering I?ve been going here 1.5 years with weekly receipts as proof.

If you get the yeast raised donuts fresh they are very good but yesterday we got a dozen assorted and had to throw out half of the box. The apple fritters and sour cream donuts tasted like heavy old oil and sugar. Another tip for the owner: the last 2 times we have been there, your front glass doors are filthy with fingerprints. Please clean your glass daily..it makes a really bad first impression. Please don't sell day old donuts as fresh and change your oil frequently!

I think people's expectations when they go to DONUT shop is they are guaranteed a warm and smiley service but today my experience was far from that cold and pretty rude. So based on my experience I didn't tip also because it was takeout. I had Ava?s donuts a few years ago and remembered them being pretty good, so I asked my sweet husband to pick up some sour cream cake donuts (my favorite) for our anniversary. What he brought back were sadly the worst donuts I?ve had in my life. They tasted strongly of old, funky oil and were burned to the point I can?t believe they had them out for sale! This place is on point! I got stuck in traffic yesterday afternoon and went to get donuts. The sweet lady working was nice enough to wait on me for 10 minutes after 6 o?clock. Superb customer service is not even the word. We will definitely continue to get donuts from Ava?s.

Okay so I apologize for the partially eaten donut, but half way through eating it I thought "I have GOT to post a review and show people how light and airy these donuts are!"...I had the maple bacon glazed donut and it was the best I've ever had. We got three donuts for 4.50 and they threw in some donut holes for good measure ??. Please help these guys stay in business.

Best donuts in WNC, we drive 20 minutes past chain donut stores to get Ava's. And the family that owns and runs it is so sweet.

We got Ava's donuts for my daughters birthday party and WOW did they blow our minds. The Maple Bacon actually ended up being a favorite! I can't believe after 5 years of living in the area, I just found out about this place. We will definitely be back!!

I found this donut shop by accident and I am glad I did. It is very clean and bright. The donuts are lined up in the case beautifully. These donuts are HUGE. There are so many different flavors and you even get to choose the creme flavor for the creme donuts. I got the maple bacon and the blueberry cake. Both were fresh, fluffy and delicious! The woman working the counter was very friendly as well. Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed.

Best donut shop in Asheville in my opinion. I?ve tried every single flavor of donut that is available at this shop and none of them disappoint, in fact they go above and beyond in making delicious donuts! The prices are also cheap and they have coffee available as well to enjoy with your donuts. Staff is incredibly friendly and makes you feel like home every time you come in!

This plate was so legit. The case was stocked with options that I wanted to try and I settled on the crispiest apple fritter I?ve ever had and a few bites of my wife?s chocolate iced yeast donut. So good. We popped in while on a road trip and I?m so sad that this isn?t a place I can?t frequent.

My neighbor brought me two different pastries from Avas and I was more than pleased...... All I can day is, "OH my Gosh" These are the best and biggest donuts you could ever find. Prices are reasonable for the size of the pastries. And on top of that, the staff is super friendly. You have to go to Ava's!

My little family and I are in Asheville for a weekend trip. We came to Ava?s Donuts for breakfast and it was wonderful. Fresh, large, yummy donuts and tons of drink options. Our 2 year old daughter LOVED it. On top of the good donuts the owner was very kind and friendly.

Donuts are amazing. Staff is horrible. It is like you just walked into someone?s bedroom that is about to disrobe, and you have startled them. No greeting, no conversation, just blank stares.

Ava?s donuts are so fresh and delicious. They make them fresh in store every day. We get a dozen to take home and they do not go stale after 2-3 days (they don?t last longer than that at our house). They have both cake donuts and yeast donuts. They offer several types of fillings that you can choose and they will fill them right there when you choose. Go early because when they sell out, that is all for the day!

I am a nurse and a patient brought the staff two dozen donuts one day when we were under staffed and none of us had had lunch. I don't recommend making a meal out of donuts, but I must say they were delicious. There were some leftover that I took home at the end of the day and they were still excellent the next day. Not greasy and stiff like other brands get. The chocolate covered pudding filled one was delicious.

Came back today for a box of donuts! My honest review would be that the old fashion donuts and fritters border on too sugary, because of the large amount of glaze without enough cake to balance it. Large, tasty donuts. I often stop for two while I'm in the area on business. What I love most is that they fill the donuts for you upon ordering. That used to be wonderful - but lately they have cut back on the amount of filling they inject into the donuts, thereby making them about the same as you would get anywhere else. This is a gentle reminder to all businesses...don't stop doing the very thing that keeps your customers coming back.

I finally stopped by Ava's Donuts and I am so glad I did! I asked for a half dozen mixed donuts, and they were fluffy, airy, the flavors were very good! Let me tell you it has been dangerous for us since this donut shop opened! If I'm ever out and about in the morning or the early part of the day I try to stop here, they are absolutely delicious. Their yeast donuts are huge, but light, soft, and airy. The cake donuts are dense, moist, and delicious. I love that they have some unusual flavors and you can also have them fill a donut with your filling of choice. My favorites are the cinnamon crumble and the apple fritters.

I am just amazed that we never knew about this place until I was advised to go purchase donuts for my neighbor's birthday. While there, I also purchased for my hubby just to let him have a taste and now he is hooked, but they are fresh and delicious. The donuts are a little pricier than normal, but they a huge and worth the price. My only advice is don't pay with a credit card as you are charged a fee and nowhere, that I could see, is it posted advising of the extra fee! However, they still get 5 stars

We happened upon this place traveling home from vacation. I am so happy that we bought a dz for the road. Oh my! Pure deliciousness! I'm not a big apple fritter person, but those turned out to be my favorite! We also enjoyed that you got to pick a glazed or powdered sugar donut and then choose the filling. Ava's Donuts is THE best donut shop that I have found in this area. They are always fresh, always moist and fluffy, and always packed with flavor. I would recommend Ava's to anyone looking for a great donut at a moderate price. If you are a serial big-chain donut eater, one trip here will change that. The staff is always friendly, the facility is always clean, and they are conveniently located right next to a Starbucks for the fancy coffee people (it's me, I'm fancy coffee people).

I arrived wanting a good apple fritter from a place that is a mom and pop kind of shop. I arrived at a bit past 10am. I got there and saw that there was one apple fritter left. I got it. And well it was quite possibly the worst apple fritter I've ever had. It was hard. Had no flavor. And had few apples in it. The rest of the donuts I got were good but this donut is the main reason I stopped in. I went here for starbucks that was next door but it was closed for "remodel". So yeah. I was told by a coworker to be sure to visit Ava's Donuts and get the apple fritter when visiting Asheville, and I'm so glad I took his advice. I got the 1/2 dozen donut mix with apple fritter, glazed donuts, long john I had filled with bavarian creme and a round donut I had filled with white butter cream. You read that right, I got to choose the filling. Prefer a jelly filling? Well they have choices for those as well. All choices were absolutely delicious. I highly recommend checking the store out.

The Apple Fritters are amazing! All of then were good but the fritter was the best. Edit. I love them more today than when I first wrote this review. I highly recommend the red velvet cake donuts. I don't even like cake donuts and they are Awesome! The fritter dominates the donut case but try an apple filled bear claw. Those rank high as well. The ladies working are awesome as well! Absolutely delicious donuts! We got an assorted dozen, each one was delicious. They have an option to fill your donut with various fillings. I got the "maple bacon" on a whim, and it ended up being my favorite one. I highly recommend!

Donuts are one of my top pleasures & these did not disappoint. I tried a chocolate glazed one & I loved the ratio of icing to donut, it was perfect. I was also a big fan of the thickness of the dough. Not only did I truly enjoy the donut, but the box it came in told me I deserved it. I did deserve that donut, and so do you. We all deserve donuts. We live in Biltmore Park & wanted to support our local business AVA'S DOUGHNUTS! I must say these were the best doughnuts I have ever had. The doughnuts are So Fresh & not over drowned with sugar. I am diabetic & they didn't raise my sugar level at all. I did choose to try the Plain Glazed but it was so good I had 3 doughnut holes on top of it. We can't wait to go back!

Donuts are sweet, but not the ladies who run the shop. Never a smile, never a thank you, always acting as though they?re imposed upon. Today I ordered two dozen donut holes and asked if they be put in their Ava?s donut box rather than in a non-recyclable foam container. The ladies responded if I want a (flimsy) box it would cost me an extra dollar. Rather than pollute our environment with yet one more styrofoam container and not willing to pay an extra dollar for a box (that work as PR marketing for Ava?s)

Hands down the ABSOLUTE best donuts I've ever had in my life. I'd easily drive tge hour commute to get them...very light, just the right amount of sweetest, and a wide variety of flavors.

This bakery is the best I have been to in a very long time. Simple in and out process, polite and courteous with the softest baked goods I have ever had. From the Apple Fritters to the donut holes, they melt in your mouth. You don't need teeth to chew, but your gums to press the softness and enjoy!!
