Ashley's Donuts Houston

I usually love the kolaches here. But I don't know if they changed the recipe or I just got a bad batch. I've never had bad kolaches here until today. Whatever they're doing they need to do some sort of quality check. I actually drove out of the way for their kolaches and was pretty disappointed that they weren't the same as they usually are

Usually LOVE everything about this place, would 1000/10 recommend their kolaches and tacos! The frosted donuts tasted like the purple polish remover from nail salons (best way to describe it). I sadly was unable to eat this donut after multiple tries.

On the morning of 04/05/2025, I stopped by and purchased a sausage croissant to go. Later, while eating it at home, I discovered a white/grey hair intertwined in the egg. I immediately went to the bathroom to throw up. Finding hair in my food, especially after already eating part of it, was extremely disgusting. I would appreciate a refund due to this unpleasant experience.

Their breakfast tacos are fresh and made on order. Love their salsa! Donuts are tasty and my youngest loves the ham and cheese kolaches.

UPDATE ? Went by last Saturday morning and the lights were out. A sign read ?CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.? Not sure if this local landmark is now closed. Very sad if it is. Prior ?- You have to love this place. The old fashioned donuts are the best. Kolaches and extras, like the breakfast burritos and croissants are really good. The servers are always quick and friendly.

Yall rationing out here? This look like a corner of a slice of American cheese, barely melted. Bread was hard. Donuts tasted like they touched every surface then grabbed the donut. Overpriced ????

I have been a customer for years. Selection, service and quality is why they are a Clear Lake institution.

Monster breakfast tacos and for three bucks! You can't beat that. So far everything I've had here has been great. Kolachies, donuts, fritters just great.

The only reason I gave 2 stars was because it wasn't crazily disgusting it was just bad. First off the croissant is just a mini kolache. The "regular kolache I ordered was pretty small smaller then the 1 in the picture and the "jumpo" kolache is literally just a regular sized kolache and last and least the chocolate stuffed donut was the worst. I don't mean for this review to be harmful in any way, just giving honest feedback. To start off the customer service was excellent, my favorite items purchased were the Sausage, egg and cheese Croissant and donut holes. My least favorite was the large sausage kolache, similar to another review I read the sausage has a strong and unpleasant taste to it, I am not sure what it is but I could not finish it.

I came here for the first time today based on the pictures and positive reviews and I was taken aback at what I saw. The Ashley?s Donuts photos shown on google reviews are 5 years old. I was on a mission for a spicy boudain kolache this a.m. First place I stopped at was sold out (b/c boudain kolaches are popular in SE TX). This place was close, so I tried it. They had endless rows of dried-out looking sausage kolaches, but no boudain. Fine- that's obviously their choice. I saw "ranchero" kolaches and thought "hey, I bet those have a lot of flavor and spice", so I bought some. Couldn't finish one. They were completely bland. They?ve been around longer than I have!! Love their kolaches more than anywhere else. Their breakfast burritos are ginormous. Everything is made in house and most of the staff has been there forever. It?s a local staple. We always drive thru but when I have the kids, we sit at the bar and it?s an extra treat! Love Ashley?s!

Been going here since my parents brought me over 30 years ago. Still just as good as back then. What?s the point in visiting the big chain donut shops when you have this local gem serving the best kolaches, donuts and breakfast tacos in Clear Lake. Pay these guys a visit, you won?t regret it.

The customer service was really good, I walked in and got some donuts and kolaches, The donuts were soft and had good flavor, And same for the kolaches. Overall good experience, and will come back. Dont listen to the bad comments, This place has really good food.

Always have great deals on breakfast sandwiches. Tried their breakfast taco for the first time today, also great! I did notice something with the donut that I probably wouldn't have been able to place without the other reviews -- a fruity acetone-like flavor. I don't know what would cause this issue over what appears to be months, but hopefully it gets tracked down.

I absolutely love this place! I stopped there quite often in the morning. There product is always fresh. And the staff is extremely friendly. They make you feel like you're at home when you walk in! I highly recommend to anyone in the area try Ashley's Donuts. You will not regret it!

Awesome customer service! The ladies are so nice and always greet you once you step inside, croissant bacon,egg, and cheese are the best in town!! Glad I found this doughnut place!! We live in Georgia where there are only donut chain stores. We visited Ashley's today. The kolaches were delicious, light and fluffy dough with delicious sausage. The chocolate frosted donut was the best I've ever had. The staff was fast but friendly. We will definitely return next time we're in town.

I love getting their breakfast tacos. My family have been going here for years. I was a little frustrated about the last 2 times I came here. Both times my order was wrong or there was a taco missing. I still would recommend, just make sure to check that everything is there before leaving.

I have been coming here for about 3 years now and never once have I been disappointed. I get the egg bacon sausage cheese potato and bean burrito EVERY time I go and let me tell you. It is freaking huge! Not to mention it will only cost you a little over 5 dollars! Seriously can?t beat it. I also love their chocolate filled donuts. I would have loved to have been able to call in my order but nobody would answer the phone. They didn't open til 4:40 so they were 10 minutes late. People that was waiting for them to open started leaving. Once inside I placed my order 6 minutes later it is still sitting in the window the cooks refused to cook my order and another behind me. I ordered the sausage egg cheese and potato taco and a bacon egg cheese and potato taco well there wasn't any sausage. NOT GOOD AT ALL. VERY DISAPPOINTED.....

Most places I review these days are strictly about the food- where it counts (you can treat me terribly and if you have a good product I'll still rate you well). These donuts were dense and were nothing special against any other donut shop around here. I tried a variety of donuts from the fruit and meat kolaches, to the old fashioned, and the glazed donuts, and each one had the same fault- dense, good icing, but flavors I'd come to expect. The worst out of the bunch would have had to been the cream cheese.

Went in today and asked for a breakfast taco to be told they didn't have any eggs. The next lady that came in while I was sitting down eating order a tray of them all filled with eggs followed by a guy who ordered one as well. Pretty rude. First time here and won't be returning.

So they made a mistake on my order and I corrected it upon pickup. I am the one that actually apologized for the ?miscommunication? and the rude lady remained quiet. I said ?thank you? for taking care of it. She was silent and physically upset. I got my receipt and said ?I appreciate you? silence and she walked away. I hope I modeled enough customer service for her to learn. Its no wonder there is a Help Wanted sign outside. Never going back

These ladies do it right. Classic Texas local donut shop. The food is standard fare but always good. Also they are enforcing mask guidelines. Watched them tell an old grump to go put on his mask. Thanks for the delicious kolaches and donuts! ??

It?s a donut shop. I was excited to stop by because of all the reviews and images of macaroons and great donuts but there wasn?t any macaroons, the place seemed rundown, and the donut holes were plain glazed. They only gave me the option of dozen or half dozen old greasy plastic donut holes like any other lame donut shop. I?m sure other people would have a blast with this donut shop which is why I still gave it a 2 star. I?m pretty sure there?s new ownership because the employees, packaging and food aren?

Hot tacos are great and fast, and good selection of donuts, breakfast sandwiches, and kolaches. And easy location.

Fix your hours of operation on google maps. You're listed to open for business at 4:30am Sunday. We stood outside with our kids to get breakfast From 4:25am-4:50am today. If a customer wants to give you their business, wouldn't it behoove the proprietor of said business to accommodate reasonable requests made by the customer? If a customer is making a food run for their coworkers and requests to make and pay for orders individually, it would seem to benefit the business to accommodate that request. When I was in elementary school, every time I slept over at my best friend's house, her mom would always take us to Ashley's on Saturday mornings. Even now, their donuts are still some of my favorites in Clear Lake, and they have really good breakfast tacos too.

The donuts and kolaches/sandwiches always taste great. The food is very cheap as well. They always have everything in stock when I go there. The staff is fast and friendly. Great place to get a cheap breakfast.

Breakfast tacos are great. Friendly staff and fast service. Donuts are good but the biscuit and breakfast sandwiches they have ready are very dry and not much flavor. But definitely go for the breakfast tacos.

Breakfast tacos are always made hot n fresh! They aren't skimpy and not over priced! Always my choice over any chain in the area! Service is always on point too.

At $15.00 for a 1/2 dozen beignets, I expected the beignets to be a little bigger. Their famous cinnamon donut holes are nothing to rave about either. You would think a delivery order that included a large coffee would have creamer to go with it. First time ordering from Ashley's and my last.

Their window says they charge all customers a service charge. Last I checked, service charges should just be included in the cost of the product. They do this for all customers. Why not just increase the prices a small amount? Such an odd decision. No difference for cash or card.

We have been coming to Ashley's for years. The girls are always nice and the breakfast sandwiches never let us down. What a great little community Donut shop! :)

Best doughnut shop in the area. Any of the old fashioned, the glazed blueberry, or the apple fritters are all solid choices. Their kolaches are also very good.

Donuts and kolaches are great but the breakfast burritos are just ok. There is not much flavor and the salsa is terrible....it is pretty much red mildly flavored water.

the donuts had a strange chemical taste to them, similar to what a nail salon smells like. it made me wish i had stopped at a different donut shop instead.

went there at 630 for donuts got down the street and took one out the bag it was ice cold and already watery on one side. these donuts was from the day before but she saying they start making donuts at 1am. so yeah she lied?

We're from Ohio, and we're very pleasantly surprised when we found this place. We never heard of rancheros and they were delicious.

$4.49 for one egg and cheese taco and what passes for tomato juice for salsa but hey...you get a lot of it.
