Annie's Hot Donuts

Annie's Hot Donuts

Reviews Summary

The donut shop offers fresh, made-to-order donuts with creative toppings and a fun, colorful atmosphere. Many praise the hot, crispy texture and friendly service, though some find them overpriced ($4+ per donut) and overly sweet. Quality varies—some rave about the taste, while others report undercooked or flavorless donuts. Service is mostly praised, but a few encounters with rude staff are noted. The novelty of customization and free arcade games adds appeal, but inconsistent execution divides opinions. Worth trying for the experience, but price and quality may disappoint some.

What small businesses SHOULD BE! Very passionate donut shop with coffee that actually makes me want to drink it. I?ve always said I ?hated coffee? and preferred more milkshake style drinks- but for the first time in my life I got an iced coffee that tasted like heaven. My only suggestion for coffee buyers is to put a couple napkins under the lip of the lid as it tends to leak. I got some donuts for breakfast and they are lovely. When was the last time someone had a donut that had crispness to it? And tons

Food - First and foremost, never had a hot doughnut right from the fryer to custom toppings then right to my hands before. This place has ruined other doughnut shops for us. The slight crunch texture, the ample options of ready to go toppings sold us. Hands down one of the best doughnuts we have had. Service - Service was wonderful. At the checkout, we were handed a sheet of paper to note how many of each doughnut we wanted or fill in for a custom option. Restaurant - It was a very bright, colorful, and o

Best donuts in the Area we tried multiple donut shops in the area during our trip and Annie's by Dar has the best one. Hot And battery and the true test was when I got home to Charlotte 4hrs later it was Still Amazing

Support locals!! This is a fun and colorful donut shop with very friendly service. Great selection of toppings. Delicious donuts. Definitely a must visit when in the area.

Hot and delicious! Had a great first experience here, though I should have gotten more donuts! Seems as soon as the family saw them they vanished. Highly recommend, way better than the other make-your-own hot donuts I've had.

These were the best fresh, hot donuts I have ever had! We got the Three Dog Night (cookies and cream) as well as the maple bacon one. Extremely tasty and they really do mean hot, which is great! The store is also extremely cute inside and out.

Annie?s was awesome! Fresh made to order donuts. Absolutely would recommend stopping for a few. Certainly not cheap, but a must visit on your way to Sullivan?s Island or just for a donut because they are worth a special trip.

Boutique donut shop that cooks to order custom do it's or one of their many ready to order recipes. The donuts are drop dead delicious, very scrumptious! However, they are very rich and somewhat cake like, not the light fluffy Krispy Kreme style. If that doesn't bother you, you won't regret it. Super friendly and prompt service, but no real atmosphere to speak of, it's built around carry out orders. But with donuts like these, who cares.

Amazing experience and Donut shop. Easy to find and great customer service. If you're looking for something unique next time you're in Charelston, Mt Pleasant, Isle of Palms, this is a must!!!. Pick a donut or make your own. 10 out of 10!!!

This place is great! It's colorful and whimsical outside and inside! They have a room upstairs available for parties. The donuts are made to order so nice and warm when you eat them. There's several to choose from and can create your own! They also participate in food delivery service. Check them out!

I think this was the best donut I?ve had in a really long time! So fun for our kids! The coffee was also so tasty! Highly recommend!

Stop thinking about it and go! This place is amazing just like the service. The perfect cake donut with whatever topping ! The lemon donut is hands down the best!

Annie?s Hot Donuts is the perfect sweets shop. It?s a smaller location right on Ben Sawyer in Mt. Pleasant. We booked it for our daughter?s 3rd birthday and it was a massive success. They have a second floor that can accommodate up to 30 people and it?s filled with toys and games for young ones. They even provided donuts for the kids to decorate and toppings to customize them to their liking. You can even bring your own food and drinks too. We really loved the high quality of the dough and how artfully they

Enjoyed our donuts from Annie?s Hot Donuts today on Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Just as they sound they are hot from the fryer and then you can make great combinations, think chipotle but for donuts. It made us happy. I would say overall, Great Donut I think they?re a little expensive.

The donuts were amazing, you can also create your owns but the service was not very nice.

My children loved Annie?s hot donuts! So glad that they offer Pastry Power Gf option. They had maple bacon, blueberry and chocolate. The store front is decorated for Christmas and the staff was very kind. Easy to order check sheets and the donuts are made in front of you. Looking for a sweet treat stop by! They also have coffee :)

Would NOT recommend gluten free donuts at all here. This shop was cute for sure but my food experience was likely less than ideal. I can see the attraction to this location with a unique ordering style. Upon entering I was informed everything was made to order, as someone gluten free I was excited to hear this and asked how to I order the gluten free donuts. I put (gf)beside my desired three choices as instructed and hoped for the best. Unknowingly to me, the donuts would be pulled out of a fridge/freezer

What a great experience at this little donut ?? shop. Great customer service. Order 4 donuts, and eat the Sullivan's Island donut. Very yummy ???? cannot wait to go back for more.

Hot, fresh, made to order cake donuts in all sorts of varieties. We tried six of their varieties in total and everyone was very nice! These are truly unique donuts.

Annie?s has the best donuts in Charleston, no questions asked. I?ve tried donuts at all of the most popular spots in Charleston and have been horribly disappointed, but Annie?s donuts are incredible, fresh, and so full of flavor. I can?t recommend this place more!! You?re missing out if you don?t get some donuts from Annie?s!

A friend & sister from church has been posting pictures from her stops here and last Saturday a group of us ladies & children stopped by. From the outside, inviting, cute, and anticipation to what was inside?. It did Not disappoint!! Everything you ever wanted on a donut & never thought to put on a donut was on their menu!! The inside is adorable and inviting. You have those options of choosing from their menu &/or creating your very own donut creation. From my first bite i was hooked! Mocha, maple bacon to

My god! Hi my name is Bebe and I?m an AHDHOLIC:-) These donuts are hot, delicious, and addictive. I tasted the carmel cake (mm mm good), teetle turtle(addictive), Rocking Rucker(peach cobbler heaven,) and Monkey Boy(banana nut delicious). If you don?t want to become an AHDHOLIC like me don?t go to AHD! It?s not hype. The donuts are amazing! We made back to back trips and we would have made a third trip if we had more time.

As donut lovers, we found ourselves here when visiting Charleston. It's a build your own shop with some suggested combinations on the menu. The person working was not very friendly. They just have the sauces and toppings all sitting out and they dunk and top the donuts after you order. 4 of us split several donuts. We got the Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Bacon Bomb, Blueberry Hill, and a BYO with caramel, graham cracker, and mini marshmallows. The donuts are warm and they were pretty good. I'm not a big fan of

We rented the party room for a child's Birthday party. It was a big hit! everyone had a great time playing and eating donuts. The space is perfect for kids, providing lots of games, toys, entertainment. The staff were very courteous and attentive, and provided everything we needed, including to-go containers to take remaining donuts home. Great place for a Birthday party!

This place was awesome. My wife and I visited Charleston in July of 2022 for our anniversary and we really enjoyed out stay. We found this location driving about and these donuts are 2nd to none. By far the best donuts that we have ever had. The toppings and how they are made are just so fulfilling.

Yum! Yum! Yum! The service was also friendly and the place is adorable. Party room upstairs sounds like a crazy time to me. Aside: Visit the bathroom for funny posters to give you a chuckle.

The donuts are fabulous!!! Soooo good!! Soft inside and slightly crispy outside ????perfect! But $4 per donut does seem a bit steep

Super cute donut place! Donuts made fresh and are delicious. A little pricey but not uncommon given our economy. Sullivan's donut was delicious!

The donuts are tasty however with how hot they are served, all the icing and toppings fall off immediately. Also all of mine were raw in the middle?. Was my first time here and was not a good impression. For the price they make the donuts it would be nice if they were cooked

Fun fresh doughnut shop where you can see them add the toppings fresh in front of you. The doughnuts have a slight crunch as you bite into them, but are still pleasantly soft inside. Great spot for kids as the upstairs is a little play area for kid birthday parties.

Annie's Hot Donuts is very good at what they do. If your favorite kind of donuts are the KK kind, you won't enjoy these. These are very cake like and similar to fair food. This is nothing against the shop itself, it's just not my cup of tea. The customer service was fine, the cashier seemed a little curt. It was neat seeing your donuts get made, albeit it was hard to look with how crowded the tiny shop was. Parking seems difficult with the limited spaces. If you like Dunkin' or cake donuts in general, you w

Super fun place to visit when you are in the area. Everything made to order, hot and fresh. Dozens of different flavors or create your own special flavor. Cute vibe certainly worth the time to stop and enjoy a donut or six.

We like stopping at these "make it on the spot" donuts. I've been to a number of them, and they are pretty amazing. This one was a little less amazing, a lot higher price, but the donuts were a little bigger...overall, we enjoyed them and the experience.

Omg! Great donuts! Hot cake-like donuts. So yummy! Will go again.

Super friendly staff, made fresh right in front of you, fun experience! Blueberry, Very Berry, Monkey Boy, and Rockin Rucker.

The donuts were pretty good! We ordered death by chocolate, French toast, and strawberry glaze. My fiance and nephew loved their donuts. I had the strawberry. They didn't taste like a normal donut. Mine was kind of crispy, but they were really good. I also ordered an iced coffee, it was okay. We will be back though!

It you like Krispy Kreme this a no. These are cake ??. My donut taste like a super donut from elementary school... it wasn't bad, it just wasn't that good. Left an after taste in my mouth. They were also 3.60 a donut.... outrageous. 4 donuts cost me $16 and change. I will definitely pass next time.

The made-to-order donuts (cooked in front of your eyes) and flavor combinations were amazing! This was one of the highlights of our vacation to the Charleston / Mt Pleasant area. This place is definitely worth a stop!

This place is amazing . They are hot and made upon request ??! They taste like a funnel cake doughnut. It's not greasy and the dough os not super thick so when eat it so light and hot and just..... well you will just have to try one and find out ! We had the Coffee Cake and Salted Caramel ??

Lovely place, beautiful decorations and fantastic service. Last but not least the donuts look and taste delicious

Delicious donuts with incredible texture and flavor. Creative toppings and combinations. Possibly the best donut I've had (the OC Sand)! My whole family enjoyed the flavors they chose as well. Can't wait to come back!

Got the chocolate overload and it was good and the donuts were hot. I was a little disappointed that the chocolate icing has separated and it looks like mostly oil got on my donut not chocolate.

Small location but the donuts are great. Front desk lady was nice and explain how there system works there. Really like all the cool donuts art around the restaurant.

These are absolutely scrumptious when hot and fresh. Can't get any fresher than this! You select from a wide variety of toppings and they make them right in front of you! The ladies were fun in that they shared our enthusiasm as first timers. Like any doughnut, they aren't as good the next day. They don't hold up as well as grocery bakery doughnuts (hence only 4 stars) I warmed the leftover in the toaster oven which helped. Fortunately, they are close to the Isle of Palms, so we will grab one each and walk

Cute spot. Handmade and loaded donuts fresh from the fire. Bring your insulin these things are sugar bombs.

Definitely worth the wait. The staff is nice and sincere. The donuts ?? are AMAZING! Every ?? is freshly made, which makes it that much better. My favorite was the bacon bomb. It had maple glaze and cinnamon sugar and crumbled bacon.

So good! If you've never had a hot donut here before, you are missing out! These were the best donuts I've ever had!

Best donuts! Warm and fresh they are made to order. Addictive!

Very good cake donut. Get to pick your toppings and watch them be made but 4 donuts for $17 is a little over the top.

I can?t believe I?ve waited so long to try here! Some of the best donuts EVER! So yummy! ?? Very cute atmosphere and great service! Coffees were delicious too! Definitely will be a new spot for me!

I had the Lo Lo Lemon donut and my goodness it was great!! Hot, and perfect texture!! It was so good!! The shop is also so cute and has a free Ms. PAC MAN machine in the back!! So much detail in this cute little shop!!

Overall: A great local donut spot, just be prepared to pay a little more than your average chain. The good: Every donut we had was delicious. With so many unique flavor combinations to choose from, it was hard to narrow them down to the 6 that we got. Service was friendly and the production was quick once we ordered. They kept well for multiple days too. The not-so-good: This is a "higher-end" donut experience, so the prices are a bit expensive. $2-3 per donut is a bit high, but again understandable given

Doughnuts were so tasty. This is doughnuts made while you wait! Toppings are super clever and creative. This is a perfect morning breakfast stop or an anytime-I-need-a-doughnut stop. They also have gluten free doughnuts for you poor souls who can't eat the good stuff.

I've been in twice recently and the food has always been great. But the service, not so much. I didn't catch any names but the first time I was in an older gentleman helped. He was very nice and helpful with the menu. Today's experience was completely different I almost left right away. There was a lady with long blonde braids who was very rude and made me feel wrong for not knowing something. I approached the counter, she said fill this out. I replied that I knew what I wanted. She said like I said, fill

We stopped at Annie?s Hot Doughnuts on our way to Sullivan?s Island yesterday, and I?m so glad that we did. The doughnuts were recommended by a friend and OMG - so delicious! The whole experience was perfect: super cute local business, in a fun building, pleasant staff, clean, and parking. We will definitely be back soon!

We love this place! Nothing like it! A hot doughnut dressed up how ever you like!! Absolutely delicious ??

I have been eating from annies for almost two years now and i could not say better things about this place! The donuts are amazing every single time, the flavors are awesome and they are the only donuts that can fill me up! We got an order of 16 donuts for my little sisters 21st and they gave us a great variety, were ready as soon as we arrived for pick up and nothing other than delicious! I highly recommend!

Sunday morning search for the perfect cup of Joe and hot donuts lead us here! No long lines. Great selection AND you can customize your own topping.

Under cooked, over priced, & essentially no parking. I literally had to wait for another customer to come back to their car after they decided the small lot justified them double parking me in. Then once I bit into my donut, it was still raw in the center. Disappointment all around.

It was a very cute atmosphere. Very cake-y donuts, maybe not the best in the world especially considering the price, but the place feels like a novelty and they have a lot of fun favors. Iced latte was extremely sweet to the point of being undrinkable, but the ladies were very nice about it and gave us some plain coffee to dilute it. The arcade games were so much fun and free! And the inside of the store was all decorated for Halloween which was so fun.

This is my absolute favorite place to get donuts! The variety is amazing and the staff is always so friendly and accommodating! Such a little gem right here in Mt. Pleasant! Highly highly recommend!!

The base is all the same with toppings. They also have Gluten free. They are very dense like cake.

Annie?s is always a good choice! They have a huge selection, they?re local and delicious and always have wonderful service.

I'm a Local truck driver. I had an early job on The Ben Sawyer Bridge. Let me tell you one thing, It's very hard for a truck driver to pass a donut shop, With a sign that says open!!! Donuts fresh ,hot and delicious!!!! You people need to check this out!! Is very friendly staff also!!

My two donuts that I chose were very good. My wife?s though, had very little flavor. And for $14 for 4 donuts, you?d think that All of them would be bursting with flavor. Coffee was excellent and so was the iced coffee with caramel.

Tourist trap! The doughnuts were ok, nothing special, would have enjoyed dunkin or krispy kreme more.

My new donut shop for sure! So good and warm and fresh.

Had the worst experience. Fairly certain her name is Teri. She is very unprofessional and rude. I had to order multiple bagels and none of them came out remotely warm. I won't be back based on how she treated me. The food is so good, but not worth it.

DELICIOUS!!! The sign name had me curious and it was delicious! They were very nice and knowledgeable about the perfect donuts!

Wifey said her bacon donut was a bit uncooked. My honey donut was perfect. Such a wide variety. A must stop in Mount Plesant.

Wonderful donuts and friendly service! The donuts are fresh out of the fryer, dipped in glaze and your choice of added toppings.

Stopped by with the family on our way out of Mt. Pleasant. I think we were overcharged because we had 4 donuts and a small milk and it was somehow $28. Donuts weren?t really my taste. Cake donuts with overly sweet topping. Neither kid finished theirs. For almost $7 a donut I was expecting a lot more. Store was cute and colorful.

This place is cute, locally owned, and great service. But the price is outrageous. $4 a donut. The taste of the donuts are nothing special and actually too sugary and cake like. If that?s your cup of tea, great! But the donut itself, before putting whatever topping and icing you want, is the same no matter what. It?s just a plain cake donut which is a tad greasy. For the price, you?d think the donut and toppings would have the flavor - not just sugar icing And crushed up whatever.

I am SO glad this place exists! It may be a little pricey but it is so worth it. The donuts are made to order, so hot and tasty ?? I was craving Krispy Kreme but it is located on the other side of town. This was my first time and I definitely will be back!

Great place to grab donuts with friends and family! A couple free arcade games keep kids entertained while you eat your donuts and drink your coffee! I do with they'd open their upstairs for children to have a place to play since it's such a cool structure architecturally. Staff are very nice and helpful, Oh! And the bagels come from New York?! Delicious!

Annie's never disappoints! - Bacon Blitz - Blueberry - Bumpy Road - Very Berry - Strawberry Chocolate Chip - Lo Lo Lemon - The Rockin Rucker - And 2 custom creations

So happy we found this place! I love a good vacation donut joint. Only reason for the four stars is because the donuts themselves weren?t anything special. The toppings made the donut. They were delicious and I will definitely be back! I don?t remember which donuts I bought but they?re picture along with the menu. They put the toppings on right in front of you and I felt like that was a nice touch.

Donuts were decent, but we expected flavored cake donuts/fillings and not just flavored icing/toppings. Customer service was subpar, as we had never been before and the ordering process is confusing without proper instructions. After making our custom donut order incorrectly, we asked nicely for them to be made according to our preference. The manager was sarcastically rude. We want to support small businesses but expect decent customer service.

Among the best cake donuts I?ve had. Made-to-order, fresh and delicious, and lots of fun flavors. Very friendly people. Can?t believe we didn?t stop by this place earlier, but will definitely be returning regularly.

Wow.. Price for 6 of the absolutely worst doughnuts IN MY LIFE $35..!!! We thought the price was high but also they would have to be the best we ever had..NOPE... as soon as we saw them we were floored at what we saw.. said let's give it a chance ..one bite ..immediately spit it out..me and my freind looked at each other in ?? shock..WTH??!! my friend started laughing and said ..OH HELL NO..I cant eat this, I couldn't have agreed more.. Brought them to the counter an stated how bad they were..we didn't bot

NOTE: My original review was when this was called the "Fractured Prune" so I am not sure if they just changed names or if the business sold out. Original review below unedited The shop is clean, the concept is interesting, and the donuts taste fine. But it's kinda disappointing when you intentionally pass up a dozen chain places to intentionally try out a small business and they can't even be bothered to brew a pot of coffee because it's 12 minutes from their 3:00 closing time and you are spending nearly

I walked in on a limb and was shocked when my two dozen doughnuts were almost $100. Just criminal how much they charge for dry and flavorless doughnuts that are SMALL! Save your money and spend half the price on better treats literally anywhere else.

Outrageous? $80 for two dozen donuts. Sorry but I cannot justify $3 for a donut. The cake base is all the same, so the toppings barely change the flavor. At least they were hot. Next time I?ll stick to Dunkin

Delicious donuts, made fresh while you wait.

I?ve been passing Fractured Prune for years and finally stopped to try their hand dipped donuts. My experience was noted by a few things: 1. Kind service - it?s family owned! 2. You can design your own donuts 3. The donuts come out hot, fresh and crispy 4. I was expecting more on the donut but it was still very tasty 5. It?s a fun spot for kids to visit

Very nice place, fresh made to order donuts with a great variety of options for glaze and toppings. Ordering process is easy, line moves pretty fast. Party room upstairs, downstairs is decorated fantastically. Parking can become an issue.

Quite possibly the best doughnut I have ever had! A "hot" box of these just arrived in our office. The ever so delicate crunch on the outside and the soft melt in your mouth center blew me away. I had no idea this amazing place was right down the road! I'm definitely in love!

These donuts are amazing!! I have tried many different donuts In the area but these are some of my favorites! They have so many toppings to try and the sky?s the limit when it comes to combinations. The staff is very friendly and make the donuts very quickly! They are always fresh and you literally can see them being made in front of you!
