CASH ONLY! A classic New York City diner! The staff were super friendly and they were busy but moving so quick when we visited. The food was delicious! We had the French toast and an omelette and both were amazing! The fruit on the French toast was fresh and the sweetness level was perfect. The omelette was solid but I was addicted to the fried potatoes! We took a chocolate glazed donut to go which was delicious and I?ll be back to try more soon!
My favorite classic diner in brooklyn. The matzah ball soup has healed me many times when I?ve been sick. The food is consistently excellent when I go. My husband and I love the tuna melt too. The staff are so welcoming and kind, it makes the experience even better. I want to make this a weekly dinner so I can try different things on the menu :) they even surprised us with a donut at the end of the meal which made our day. thank you so much!!! Tip: get cash before from your bank to avoid atm fees as it is
4/5 Donut Sundae -- cake donuts tastes super fresh, moist and fluffy! I was less impressed by the ice cream, but it is a very classic diner flavor (vs. a higher end ice cream shop) 5/5 Milkshakes 5/5 Curly Fries
oooo, came for some donuts and paid $7 for 2. we got our favorites, a french cruller and boston cream. the cruller was half glazed so on first bite, it was salty. there was a super doughy middle layer that tasted like egg custard? not typical. the boston cream had no cream until 2/3rd of the way through and there was only a quarter sized amount.
One of the few remaining diners. (God, I miss those days when they were on every corner!) Standard diner fare. Food is solid, with some weak spots. But,.. Donuts! Lots of them, and they're not the over-sweetened crap you get from Dunkin'! They have flavor, and variety. I just wish I could afford to live in the neighborhood!
It wasn?t hard for us to decide to eat here since it was probably the only restaurant open on Christmas Day but we are so glad we stopped here! The specials of Leg of Lamb and Chicken Francese were so incredibly delicious I could definitely see myself coming back here again even though we live in Queens. Even the chicken and rice soup was perfectly hot and tasty! The side of curly fries was great too! The meals all came out at weird times which made the meal a bit awkward and less than ideal but the waitres
every moment of my experience here was filled with delicious pleasure, much like the delicious pleasure they fill each and every one of their perfect donuts with. on a sadder note, if you're full of desire to break up with your partner, you won't find solace here. the vibe is too good for heartbreak. heartbreak would feel bad in a place like this. Delicious!!
Only tried their house made donuts and the boston cream one was not very good - too sweet and not enough cream, nor was the sugar dusted one. The glazed one was the best one, followed by the chocolate one. Will come back for the food. Cash only!
Historic Diner With The Freshest Donuts ?? this place has the best donuts for decades? waaaay before it was a trend with the other new gourmet donuts. You?ll find the old fashioned no frills donuts and cruellers but they are made fresh at 8pm nightly. So that?s the best time to pick them up. The diner food is good too but you can get that anywhere but there?s only one place for 7th Ave Donuts! Tip: buy a dozen and get one free and it?s CASH only. Highly Recommend ??????????
"If you?re in the area, you should definitely drop by?they?re open 24/7. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. The Subway is close by, and while street parking is available, it can be a bit tricky to find a spot. The donuts are simply amazing, and the diner food is worth every bite. Keep in mind, it?s a cash-only place, but there?s an ATM in the corner for convenience. Make sure to come hungry because you?ll leave satisfied. A really amazing fr
Stopped by here for a late-night treat and had this Donut Sundae. Great combination of sweet, buttery, and crunchy.
I stopped in for breakfast this weekend to find out what all the hype is about this place and how good their donuts are. When you see places in business for so many years like this one, you can clearly see why. When you walk in, the staff is warm and welcoming, and the diner itself has that old-school vibe. The food comes out fast, fresh, and tasty. It doesn't hurt also that they make a really good cup of coffee. Now on to the donuts....The donuts are made right on the premises, so you know going in you are
Great local diner with good food and donuts. I like the chilaquiles and breakfast plate with chorizo. Sometimes their servers are a little stretched thin, but otherwise a great place for classic diner food. Remember its cash only
Nice clean looking diner, open 24hrs and friendly staff. But the food was mediocre. The onion rings were the best & really tasty, but the burger & fries were not so much. Maybe next time, I would try the breakfast instead. They also have a wide variety of donuts & muffins. I tried the glazed & it was kinda dry.
We?ve always really liked this diner. It?s been a regular breakfast spot for us, but what happened on our last visit totally caught me off guard. A gentleman politely asked the manager if he and his partner could take some engagement photos with a photographer the next day. Totally fair to say no, the restaurant doesn?t owe anyone a photoshoot. But the way the manager, Teddy, handled it was just? wild. He launched into this loud, long, condescending rant about why getting married was a bad idea and then th
DONUT DONUT DONUT ?? Looking for class? Step into the iconic 8th Street Diner for delicious food and some top notch service. I had a MTA wrap. It was made by the kitchen. It?s just named after the MTA. It was chicken, bacon, tomato, ranch, pita. I could have made it at home but I wanted a professional to make it and it was welllll worth it. Now lets work on getting my dates to stop no showing me lol! Thanks 8th! ??
An awesome experience. Love the donuts! The atmosphere is great and the staff are so nice. One time I even got a donut for free without asking. I had only bought one doughnut for myself and no one else was in line, so they were being real nice to me with donuts on the house!
my go-to breakfast spot! my go-to breakfast is chorizo and eggs- such a hearty delicious way to start the day. the coffee is good and plentiful- and the staff are so so sweet.
This is a delightful diner in the most classic sense. The staff were attentive without being suffocating and fast without seeming rushed. My burger was very solid and so was my friend's. Please be forewarned that they are a cash only. Otherwise, we managed to eat our lunch in 45 minutes from arrival to departure. Prices were very reasonable and just a really nice overall experience.
We have been here several times during our NYC trip. The donuts are actually the best I ever ate on my life! Like really classic, handmade ones! Breakfast dishes were also awesome and the staff is very attentive and helpful! But really most importantly: TRY THE DONUTS!
This has to be one of my favorite places just to go for a diner. The eggs Benedict is off the hook, the matzoh ball soup is delicious. I would stay away from the turkey or any of the main entr?es as I didn?t find them to be very good at all, but for breakfast and for sausage links too notch.
It is a devious place to grab food! The food is good, quick and simple. The only thing is that the servers are a little fast and sometimes forget what you ordered. Other than that, great place!!
Elite diner experience. Service is impeccable, food comes out quickly, and your coffee is constantly refilled when youre not looking. There are few better things than a solo breakfast at the counter here. Many a hangover have met their demise at the hand of 7th Ave Donuts and Diner. The menu is varied but not overextended, for both breakfast and lunch. Food is of the highest quality.
Used to be great until new management took over and increased the 20 dollar box of coffee to 29 dollars and give you less creamer, then a few months later increase the price again to 36 bucks for the same low quality coffee and less creamer. Twice as expensive for less stuff of already low quality coffee
Awesome local diner! This place has kind of a retro feel which is really cool, it definitely feels like stepping into a real diner in the 70's. I've been here a few times and the food has been pretty good every single time. They usually have daily specials that come with a soup. Most of their food is good but I particularly recommend their chicken tacos. They're very tasty and come with a pretty good spicy salsa. The service is very good. It feels like you're part of the family when you're here. During on
7th Ave dounts are meant to be eaten right away. They are not made to be eaten later. The donuts become stale quickly. The service person is very short with people who are not from the neighborhood. The coffee is very weak as well. It did not meet the donut fix I had unfortunately.
Awesome diner, food was amazing! I had a Texas burger and it was delicious!! Must visit place! Specially since they sell donuts to go if you just want something quick and they are also amazing!
their donuts are good, coffee does the trick. the waitress who works late weeknights is amazing, not too pushy and not too standoffish, every time I go her frequency of service is just right.
Management apparently thinks it?s a good idea to paint the door handles with thick, oily, black paint in the middle of lunch service and not put up a sign or tell anyone about it. Six of us came in and unknowingly got black paint smeared all over our down jackets and jeans. Place smelled like gasoline. We showed them the paint stains and the response was ?it wasn?t me!? They didn?t even offer to comp our donut order. Donuts were dry and crumbly, too. So disappointing!
I ordered delivery from this place.. You can tell these guys take great pride in what they do. From the food to the way they packaged it. The service is fantastic!
Hi to all, If you are a diner fans , this will be the perfect place for you, an all school diner place with a classic diner's menu and a huge plus , they bake frash Donuts every day. Coffee is always fresh and i highly recommend the Home fries . I also really like the general atmosphere, the crew is super nice . Of course like any real diner, it's open 24/7. Enjoy your meal
This is my go-to brunch place, and their donut deal (baker's dozen) is great. I especially like the chocolate donut stick and french cruller. The french cruller is not included in the baker's dozen though.
Great experience here. Tried the roast beef sandwich, curly fries, boston creme and cinnamon roll donuts. Waitress was super helpful resolving one minor error. Roast beef was kind of dry but incredible flavorful. curly fries did what curly fries ought to do. Boston creme was a 7/10 (a little dry, custard low flavor, chocolate glaze was completely solid) cinnamon bun donut was a 9/10 flavor explosion.
The avocado blt was amazing I don't like tomatoes so I was hesitant but it was worth it, the grilled chicken salad I got looks amazing I only tried a little but to write the review and it's fresh and delicious, I also got a Boston cream donut and a ?clair very good it was a nice surprise when i seen a extra donut delicious....now too what I didn't like their eggs, home fries and chorizo hash, the home fries were dry no onions no peppers just dry and why put home fries with hash it was just too much potatoe
It?s a GREAT LOCAL Spot get a dozen of donuts to go - not the best for sit down and eat as it?s a small place but they do make great food.TWO donuts down when writing this review lol
Many changes to this diner since one year ago. Definitely, Covid secured. A new and very friendlier staff. The food, as always was very delicious and service, very attentive. Pics says it all... Um Yum!
I've been on a donut quest in NYC, and 7th Ave Donuts & Diner has the best donuts I've had so far! Their donuts are fresh, fluffy, and perfectly glazed. I especially love their Boston cream. The staff is also very friendly and kind. They make you feel welcome and are always happy to answer any questions you have. Overall, I highly recommend 7th Ave Donuts & Diner. It's a great place to grab a delicious donut and enjoy a friendly atmosphere. Additional tips: * 7th Ave Donuts & Diner is primarily cash only, s
Around noon. It?s typical to discount your donuts when they have gone stale. Not hawk them off as fresh. $3.75 for a stale bowtie donut. Very busy establishment. Do not recommend.
Honestly, I have a deep love for the neighborhood that this diner is in. So my review will be really bias. My fiance and I order the staple items at first: Cheeseburger and fries. But then with her help, I changed my order and order :Ruebun open sandwich - corn beef version. I also order curly fries. The place has booths / tables that are close to each other. Both the Cheeseburger and Ruebun sandwich with the fries were delicious. Considering this is diner food- it was well worth the $29 + tip. The place h
DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE . go in person and CHECK YOUR FOOD before you leave . Constantly receiving the wrong order. Ordered Turkey bacon and paid extra and they send PORK BACON. When you call the owner he says ? next time when you order , call the store and make sure we have it right? WHY would I need to do that these people are extremely incompetent and offer no resolution. Anything you order they will give you the opposite this has happened so many times and I still support because this is the only d
I was looking forward to eating here. Order online and they canceled on me. I had just gotten out of the Emergency Room overnight and was starving. I just wanted a soup, salad, and pastrami. I was devastated when it was canceled for no reason. I will not be returning for business.
I was looking for a nice place to have breakfast with my sister and she loves this diner. Its wasn't that busy, even on a sunday morning, and the staff were super friendly and on point with serving. The omelettes were fantastic and HELLA cheesy. The patries were also great, especially the boston creme, but they were a bit pricey, so something to keep in mind. Definitely a spot I'd want to visit again. ??
Great little Brooklyn diner, serious about their food...and yes, the donuts are worth the trip! Go for the donuts, stay for the food, enjoy the service, love the vibe.
I guess I came in on a bad day, but service was absolute crap. Food was mediocre and donuts were stale. To some of the servers you have to repeat yourself multiple times and on top of that they still got a simple order wrong. You would think that they offer donuts since it's in the name of the restaurant before your check but nope. Too fast paced like they're in a rush for something which is ironic because it took forever to get our check, and they don't even ask you how was everything don't think they car
Best donuts in Brooklyn. I cant say enough good things about this place. They're open late which is always a plus. The donuts are always so fresh- I've come here all hours of the day and night and the baked goods are always fresh. This is the type of small business that makes me proud to be a small business owner in NYC. The pride they put into their restaurant plus the kindness of their staff; this place is overall just a great establishment and I'm so happy I discovered them (years ago now). Try the mini
Such an old school spot, we love coming here. Food is great and affordable and staff are really nice! If your in the area definitely stop by I highly recommend!
Went in for donuts and they were painting the interior door at lunchtime on a Tuesday when it is freezing cold so it won?t dry with tar type substance without warning or signs. So many people got pants and coats covered in thick black goop and ruined. Told them and they just shrugged; still no sign and no acknowledgment. Bizarre. Donuts really dry too?
We come here almost every single week. The food is very good and very fairly priced. It is a family business run by the owners. It?s always very clean and very organized. They also make all of their own donuts and pastries in house which are a very good. My favorite is the flan which is real flan our servers Lupe, Tina, and luisa always take great care of us and always remember our order. We recommend this place to every single person who comes to this neighborhood. It is cash only so be prepared, but they
The old fashioned donut was $2. It was moist and flavorful but not greasy. Regrettably I only could takeout from here as I had other plans. From what I can sense on the premises this looks like a fine place to dine in. Perhaps I'll have a chance when I'm around Park Slope.
Went after working at the hospital very cute and clean. Received such great service from a waitress (I didn?t get her name but she had a few tattoos) who was kind, quick and was helpful when choosing off the menu. While I was eating the owner (I presume) walked past my table and gave me a 10/10 complimentary doughnut for ?being a good customer?. Great place! Great sausage and bacon!
Man in the front was very kind. Food is delicious. The ladies at the counter however were inattentive, kept forgetting what we ordered, and the woman in the glasses slammed the salt and pepper in front of us and made a mocking gesture at my dining partner and I taking the only salt and pepper available on the entire bar counter away from another customer to give to us. Don?t think it?s worth going on a Saturday. Perhaps the service is better when there is no one there.
I'm usually scared about ordering home made potatos since I had negative experiences in the past. Potatos are usually from the day before, or who knows from when, but definitely not fresh. However, home potatos from this place were fresh as well as the Spanish omelet. I enjoyed it.
Definitely gives the old school diner vibes and I'm all for it! Definitely recommend a visit if you're near it.
Old school Brooklyn diner. Cash only; some things are better than others, but if you still to the classics, the food is great for a late night eat. Also! Donuts are to die for. Highly recommend you get one after you eat, or go just for them.
It's like .....ok. Nothing special. Below average food and service. Donuts ?? are not impressive. Huge pain is CASH ONLY option. Very unprofessional and unacceptable in year 2025.
Went here with my parents who were visiting from out of town and got chocolate glazed donuts, cinnamon rolls, and a cream puff. The place is really neat: a long-standing diner and donut shop; the atmosphere is excellent. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, none of the pastries were good at all. They were all dry and pretty flavorless. Nonetheless, I want to go back and try the diner food.
The food was mid. Service was really Good! The donuts were dope! If youre in the area stop in!
Went with a group, great atmosphere, a lot of good food and delicious donuts of course! Highly recommend the fresh toast (was recommended to us) also recommend the Cesar salad, one of the best I?ve ever had! Wings were okay, curly fries weren?t really seasoned but nice that they have the option for them.
One of my fave places to eat. We are regulars now. I love the salad they make.
Their donuts are phenomenal. Food is decent diner food but cash only!
Food is a great value for this price. This place is a no-frills blue plate special kind of place. They make their donuts fresh daily. Other breakfast items are just as tasty as their donuts. The service can be slow at times.
Admittedly, this is not Rao's or a high-end restaurant. However the food was excellent. It is like a "guilty pleasure" type joint, as you can't eat this stuff every day because of the calories. This place takes you back to the days when you could go into a diner and sit at a booth. Sadly, those days are slowly ending, and all we have these days for the most part are healthy restaurants with tiny portions and yuppies with attitudes as customers. It is great to see a place like this still exist in Park Slope,
I'd like to thank this place for always being open when I need them! I'm often stumbling in late at night on weekends, very hungry and with little food at home. I love the vibe in there when you enter at 2:00. Also the cheeseburger with curly fries is awesome. Thanks for being open and helping me out on all those nights 7th Ave Donuts & Diner!
If you like hole in the wall diners with novel, delish food and amazing donuts, don't miss this place
Waitress was a little too Spicy to be in customer service for my taste.
I got donuts after hearing positive reviews. They were all moldy upon taking a bite. Absolutely disgusting.
Shelter in the storm. Always love this place. Home fries best comfort food ever!
Not sure what the hype is about the donuts. We tried the donuts based on positive reviews and we were not impressed. The only donut, in our view, which was moist and tasted really good, was the cream filled donut; although not much filling.
Quesadilla was very greasy and four cheeses is a laugh more like two, one of which that tasted like cheap american cheese slices! Won?t return here!
Classic Brookyln diner. The donuts are always great. The food is standard and always awesome. A great hidden gem in Brooklyn and one of the places that remained mostly untouched. Love stopping in when we can!
love this place and the good food and the wonderful staff and the amazing donuts! but still cash only in 2025 is wild
Never had the pleasure of dining in but take out and delivery service are always prompt and I haven't had any issues thus far. Me and my daughter ordered dinner I had Fettucine Carbonara with ham, bacon, and mushrooms and my daughter ordered a chicken wrap. Food was delicious but the best thing was desert!!! Get the Oreo Cheesecake its sooo good!
I live on Staten island and I work in Washington heights, but I always find time on my way home to make a stop for some of their delicious donuts.
A terrific old fashioned diner with great food and fabulous donuts!
This place was delightful. Our waitress was incredibly patient and there were donuts I was not prepared to address. We had decided on a donut sundae for desert, but didn?t because we were too full.. but we?ll be back for it! Cash only (but aren?t all the good diners)!
The waitress who took our order was not at all welcoming. I was there with my 8yr granddaughter. The woman who accepted my payment was the best. She was nice to my granddaughter and gave her a complimentary donut. There was also an older man in front who was very nice to us. Thank you
A fine diner. I went here because purity diner had a wait, and this place is 10x better. Two eggs + fries + toast + coffee for 8 something. Pleasantly surprised to see that some places are still fairly priced.
I've been going there since the 70s. I always get what I want and totally satisfied with my servings. It's an old neighborhood 24/7 standby place ! It's become a little more upitty now that Park Slope is a big hubbaba but it's still a trusty spoon! Chocolate egg creams aren't bad either..
This is a vital part of the park slope community. The folks who work here are so lovely and provide great service. The food ranges from average to excellent within the context of being a 24/7 diner.
The jelly donut is one of the best I've ever had. Just the perfect chew, sweetness and flavour. Incredibly delicious. Similarly delicious chocolate milk shake. We ate at this place several times during our holiday and enjoyed the food and the laid back and friendly atmosphere. It's a joint that serves food all day so there's something to satisfy all needs. Popular with the locals, too.
They make the best grilled cheese, French fries, and pancakes (everything my kids eat). Love this place!!
Fast friendly service. Picked up two sandwiches to go. They were nice and hot. Fresh and delicious.
We love 7th Avenue Donuts and Diner. I drive from Queens with my wife to enjoy! The shop maintains the old dinette feel (which is unfortunately becoming a thing of the past in NY), while not being outdated due to their recent renovations and upgrades. The staff is always extremely kind and helpful, and the food is the best! We always have to leave with at least a half dozen donuts to take home. Our favorites are the marble glaze and the Boston cream.
I had one waiter who was extremely rude and uninviting. She was slamming our food and drinks down and gave us all nasty looks. She made fun of my friend and yelled at him. Ruined the whole experience. Although the person at the register was very very nice.
We had the jelly donut and it was good. It's not artisan by any measure, but it's a good quality donut where the yeast is light and fluffy and the jelly is not overly sweet or sugary. Give it a go.
So...let's put my bias right out front...I have a big heart for throwback diners that sit at the heart of their neighborhoods. 7th Avenue Donuts and Diner is such a place. Thus far, I have only had breakfast and a donut in my visits, but the "feel" and the "vibe" just make me smile and make me feel nostalgic.
Great service, good coffee, solid donuts!
I wanted to like this place. It's a neighborhood staple that's resisted the gentrification of park slope. However, if you go be prepared for an amazingly overloud atmosphere that's crowded, the food being mediocre, and everything on the menu an add-on in terms of price. If you order the two egg breakfast, don't be surprised that it's listed as cheap until you get the bill and realize, coffee isn't included. Don't worry about refills or even the coffee being hot, neither are going to happen. The donuts that
